Luckily for us…read morewe hired the right people for the job (lucked out!) the company Valley Pumping Services- (John Froehlich and team) & their affiliate business associates, Superior Septic (Greg & Mike) were definitely there for us. They identified our home's unique septic infrastructure where the builder placed a decorative courtyard wall over one of the tank's covers. They also dealt with cement, roots and other structural issues. They went a step further (per our approval) to install risers for future access. They were very efficient, hard working, knowledgeable AND went above and beyond at a moment's notice to ensure success. We HIGHLY recommend these two companies. She gave me a rundown of the prices: $225 to dig, $450 to pump, and another $225 if you need chemicals. When the appointment came, the crew of two showed up on time, and they got right to work, digging out my septic tank lid and making hilarious poop puns along the way. They gave me a rundown on how the system worked and gave me tips to ensure it works for years to come. Mike, the owner and father of the two young men who came to dig out the lid, showed up about an hour later with the pump truck and helped them finish the job. I elected to have chemical treatment to help maintain my leech field, and the crew elected to come back the following day so as to let it settle a bit overnight. Mike called me in the morning and let me know when to expect his son to come by to finish the work and collect payment. All in all, Kern County Sewer is a great family owned business. The office staff is polite, and the guys in the field know their crap.
