Stay away from this company!!! In Western NY they price gouge in Winter when you need and go through propane the most. I have called about this time and time again. Lousy Customer Service. Stay Away from this company. They are trying to enforce a minimum annual usage (after buying out a nice little small local company) policy, that I did not consent to by charging customers a fee equal to the full retail cost of the propane that would have been needed to meet the minimum annual usage. They sent a bill for this amount WITHOUT even attempting to deliver any propane. Just basically fraud! Also they go out of their way to make it hard to cancel your account. Avoid this company!!! read more

Been with superior for 6years in buck pa. Monday I call tell them I'm at 15% and I need to be filled Wednesday comes they still are not at the house to fill call again they say we are scheduled for 2/9/22 at this point we are at 1% I asked could I pay a fee to have someone out today they said no we don't do that we will try to get someone out tomorrow the price is $4.69 a gl I said no thanks come pick up your tanks and I called a local family owned company called c&l fuel of Bristol pa they came out and had new tanks and filled them. Still waiting on superior to pick up the old tanks I told them they have 7days or I will charge them for storage. read more

These guys recently bought up Western Propane out here in California and things are not off to a good start. Here's my story of woe, as told to them by me in an online form today. I really hope they do the right thing after costing me so much money. I'd love to update this review with a happy ending story. ****** Hi, there are several issues that have happened with my account. The 1st is that our tank is supposed to be checked and topped off automatically. Apparently it hadn't been checked since this January and last Wed night we ran out of gas. Or else it WAS checked and we developed a leak in our tank and ran out of gas. I'm not sure either way because apparently our account history never got migrated over from Western Propane. This house is a vacation rental and so running out of propane (no hot water, no stove, no furnace) was not an acceptable option for our guests. I called Western Propane at 9:36 pm and got a hold of your after-hours guy - I think his name was ****. He told me that he could fill my tank either at midnight or early the next morning. I told him that I needed to check with my guests to find out which they'd prefer and that I'd call him back. He got rude to me, saying, "No, you need to make a decision! I'm not going to sit in my truck on the side of the road!" First off, I had no idea that I was speaking to someone who was driving. I thought I he was sitting at a desk in an office. Second, I hadn't said or done anything to be spoken to that way. Under the circumstances I thought I was being very reasonable. Put on the spot, I asked him to come in the morning. Fortunately my guests were relieved to hear that. The next day another guy showed up. He filled the tank and told me that I had a gas leak and I'd need to call a plumber before he could turn the gas on. This was weird because we hadn't smelled any gas at all. I asked more questions and he said that there was a minor leak from a bolt on the tank and he had tightened it up. So I don't know how long I've been paying for gas from a leaking tank. Our tank is VERY old and rusty. He insisted that the problem was on my side because the line wasn't holding pressure. He was very nice and said that if we could get the line fixed, he'd come back the same day and turn the gas on. I called some plumbers and was very lucky to have them come out within a few hours. They spent a few hours trying to find a problem and finally concluded that there WAS NO PROBLEM. I called your guy back. When he returned, he found that the line was holding pressure and he turned the gas on. So I paid a plumbing company $225 for absolutely no reason. And my guests went without hot water from 9pm until around 3 or 4pm the next day. And they had plumbers and your employee going in and out, disrupting their work and their business calls for most of their day. To be slapped with a $446 bill on top of this mess was a real insult. I'd like to have my account credited for this fill. The guy who filled the tank mentioned that there's such a thing as a smart meter that could alert your company if we're low on gas. We don't have anything like that on our janky old tank so if that's how Superior Plus decides when to check a tank, this needs to be fixed. read more

Worst place to get propane hands down! Been a customer OVER 35 years. Every time we call to get a delivery, there is an issue. I've even contacted the Attorney General of NY state on them before to get things resolved. Today was the last straw. First they nickel and dime on all the time. Haz mat fees. contract fees, etc. Jacked price up 70 cents per gallon more than last year. My neighbor has Superior as well, and would be paying 50 cents per gallon less. They said they couldn't reduce because I'm on a contract. I haven't signed any paperwork with them since I can remember. Another neighbor is paying about 90 cents per gallon less through them. They also said I don't use enough propane to get a lower price. Only 600 gallons per year or so. That's crap! I get about 5 deliveries per year at a minimum of 200 gallons per fill. So they are a bunch of liars, too. So today they refused to lower my cost per gallon - not caring at all I"ve used them for 35 years. OK - I don't care either. I'm switching propane providers today. Already in the works. They are soaking me with a $135 fee for breaking a contract I swear I didn't sign. But I don't even care. Anything to be free of these crooks. read more

This company took over a reliable family business that had served us for over 20 years in the Mid Hudson Valley in New York. In 2020 they not only neglected to fill our propane heating tanks in the middle of winter, they weren't answering their phone and their mailbox was full so that no one could leave a message. After several days, we switched our heat to another company to avoid our pipes freezing. They never picked up their tanks when requested. Unfortunately, I left my gas stove connected to a separate tank and when they finally picked up the disconnected heating tanks this week, they also disconnected my stove and took that tank as well. I had to make 2 phone calls to get any response. Although I made an appointment for them rectify the mistake and reinstall my stove tank, they didn't show and attempted to tell me the appointment was for another time than the agreed upon. I have lost 2 days of work over their "mistake". I am a very patient person, and was unfortunately so stupid that I gave them more than one chance. read more
