You won't find a cleaner place to stay. I took one of the four kayaks out for a calm paddle one early evening. I highly suggest doing this. The kayaks are available for free to use. Tons of games and books to use while staying there. I love that they are earth friendly with composting and recycling everything. See you in 2025 Nancy Tulgren

They've been around a while, or the cabins wouldn't be so close to the water. You couldn't build a resort so close to the shore nowadays. But way back when, Bob (yes, there was a Bob) built these small, humble, unassuming little pieces of paradise, and you get to enjoy them. The website is clear: the cabins are clean, spare, with some couches and/or easy chairs depending on the cabin, with a simple but entirely adequate kitchen. Really, it's all about the lake. You get to be right on Lake Superior, whether it's glassy or roaring, and you get to take it all in. As luck would have it, the owners are charming as well, friendly and easily available. My only reluctance in writing this review is that it make it harder to make a reservation. It's that good.

Not sure why my cup of soup took 20 minutes to come, but when it did, it was the wrong soup. She left the wrong one at the table (smoky chicken wild rice) and said the kitchen was just heating up the corn chowder I ordered and it would be out on a minute. Three minutes later, the "corn chowder" was brought out. It was not hot and did not taste good. When the wait staff came out again, I asked her to take it because it wasn't good and her reply was "I'll see if the kitchen forgot something ". Wait....what?? I also ordered the forest mushroom flatbread. It looked pretty but this is a combination that should not exist. The flatbread was cut and then two fried eggs and arugula were place on top so you could not take a bite without losing the egg and salad. Also...when you say it is a "forest mushroom" flatbread, it should actually have wild mushrooms or just call it "Mushroom Flatbread ". On a positive note, the smoky chicken wild rice soup was delicious and the manager stopped by with her apology and a desert on the house. Hopefully I was just here on an off day

The prices were absolutely fantastic and the staff was so wonderful. I had the Betty's special, I had a cup of baked potato soup with the chicken salad sandwich and a slice of chocolate banana cream pie. The sandwich was OK. It was a little on the sweet side for me.. The soup was absolutely delicious. The pie was the clear winner. My dining partner had the pulled pork sandwich! He really enjoyed the sandwich. He ordered the French cherry pie. Kind of like a cheesecake pie with cherry topping. We thought the pies were outstanding.

Luckily the wait wasn't too long, but I know it can get a little long on weekends. Luckily there are plenty of places to wait outside, with all the gorgeous scenery. We waited about 30 minutes, but it was worth it! I was excited to see vegetarian and gluten free options. Our waitress was very friendly and made some great suggestions. I went for the gluten free "backpacker" veggie burger and I have to say, it was maybe one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. Wild rice patty with the Swiss cheese, grilled onions, chipotle mayo- it was just an incredible combo. Came with a side of chips, because the fries are not gf. But wow, super yummy sandwich and a gluten free bun. And the dessert! I got the gf peanut butter pie, my piece was HUGE, I was eating it happily for days. I just know that I'm gonna have to take another trip to MN just to come to Betty's and get this meal again.

We played it "safe" and ordered the nachos--and I say this without exaggeration: they were the best nacho platter I've ever had. Not just great tasting, but genuinely beautiful to look at. This wasn't a pile-of-chips-with-stuff-dumped-on-top situation. This was thoughtfully made, layered, and clearly crafted from real ingredients. Nothing felt canned or boxed. Fresh toppings, balanced flavors, and even details like using spinach instead of iceberg lettuce showed real care and intention. You could tell someone in that kitchen actually cares about what goes out on the plate. If you're anywhere near the area and even thinking about stopping in--do it. Great food, great vibe, and one of those meals that surprises you in the best possible way. We'll absolutely be back.

The general manager was our tour guide... he was one of the friendliest and knowledgeable people I've ever met! The stadium and team are rich with history, even down to the bricks they used to erect the entrance to the field. Dave was our bus driver and tour guide for the night. After the stadium tour he took us to Bent Paddle where we were able to samples some brews and enjoy the atmosphere, what a cool place! Their beers are outstanding! The 14 degrees ESB is a GABF (Great American Beer Festival) winner! I would highly recommend trying it. There's an awesome BBQ joint that will deliver to the tasting room too! We ended the night back at the stadium with a Huskies' baseball game. The won in walkoff fashion! It was a great game! We are looking foreword to another tour. I would highly recommend a tour with Duluth Experience.

I was in Duluth for my brother's wedding and didn't know anything about the city or the area. I was with my then-boyfriend and we knew it was a beautiful area, but wasn't sure the best way to experience it all. That is when I booked us on the Scenic North Shore Bicycle Tour. It was by far the best thing we did in Duluth (minus watching my brother get married,ha) and we were raving about it to all the weddings guests all weekend. The guys running the show were great to talk to and they clearly thought of everything. If you are traveling to Duluth and want to really have the best tour guides, book with them.
