The Superior Boiler technicians have always done a good job for us. Scheduling service on our boiler is really easy too.

They constantly say they'll call me back to schedule an appointment or let us know when a tech was going through our area, ya. . They never did.. well our AC stopped working yesterday, so we reached out to schedule an appt to have them come down to look at it and they inform us that they no longer servicing, the area we live in, not even for the people who have already been customers. When my husband asked how that works, since they assured us when they were scheduling our instal appt for our furnace that they have and would continue to service southeastern idaho, and we didn't need to be concerned about that. She said Oh, well, let me talk to the boss and get back to you. I'll give them credit, they called back, only to tell us that it would cost us a $300 call fee and then a $100 an hour, including drive times and the cost to fix the AC. No recommendations, referals or hey this company is going to take over our previous customers. Save yourself the heartache, go through a company who's going to have loyalty to there previous customers, honor there promises that sold you in going with there company and not try to rake you through the coals to get our of keeping their word. We understand company needs change but you honor you're agreement, or at least have the decency to say something like "we're no longer servicing that area but we can come down this one time since we didn't send out a letter, email, heck even a smoke signal notifying customers that you would no longer be willing to help you, just said sorry about your luck. Ya, we know it's in the dead of summer, let us do you a solid just pay a whole whole bunch of money to even have us just come look at it and then probably pay that 2 or 3 more times if they don't fix it or have the parts when they realize you're stupid enough to pay it. But hey don't forget to tell your friends about us ha ha ha oh we will. Unfortunately, this was just one of many things that they did or said that they did not honor, but because they were a local business we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt..

The seller used Heat & Cool and forwarded me the invoice ($466) wherein the technician stated, "Cleaned and serviced unit. Diagnosed the unit to have a bad fan relay, and replaced with new. Test ran unit in fan and heat. Unit ran great. Heat strips (Emergency heat) for heat pump works as well. Checked pressures on condenser and was good, it is a R22 system. Technician found unit to be in overall good working condition." The day my family moved in the system was working well with cold air coming into the house. I turned it off since it was unnecessary at the time. When summer came and I went to turn it on, there was no response. I called Heat & Cool, assuming they would come to make good on the claim in the original invoice that the "unit ran great". Before the technician even looked at any part of the system, he said that he had already been here and knew the system was quite old and may be too expensive to be worth repairing. After looking at things for a little while, they said they weren't sure it was worth the trouble. Then suddenly they said it was actually the thermostat that was bad and that it should be replaced. So their visit ended with another invoice, this time for $676, to replace a thermostat and associated control board. They got the system turned on and hot air was coming out of the vents. They said that it just needed to run for a little while to start getting cool air again and left. The air did not cool down and after that afternoon the system did not turn on again. I decided it was worth it to get another HVAC company to come and look at it. They confirmed that the system was indeed in poor condition and probably didn't have much life left. However they also found that the thermostat was inoperable because the previous technician hadn't set it up (no programming had been done yet). I am probably going to replace the whole thing soon anyway, but this whole experience made me very unsatisfied with Heat & Cool.

Steve's positive attitude, problem‑solving skills, and willingness to work within our budget were extraordinary--qualities rarely found in customer service today. Our home presented several unique structural challenges, yet Steve approached each one with confidence and creativity. His crew was fast, professional, and patient, taking time to answer even our odd or off‑the‑wall questions. When an unexpected structural issue came up, they immediately worked together to find a safe, professional solution. Their teamwork and genuine care made us feel like family, not just customers. After installing our one‑of‑a‑kind air‑conditioning system, the team returned the next day to ensure everything was running at 100%. That level of follow‑through is exceptional on its own--but it didn't stop there. A week later, Steve called with news that truly amazed us. On his own initiative, he contacted the Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart Program on our behalf, and we were approved for an incentive that helped offset the cost of the rewiring and installation. Who does that? It was an incredible act of service and integrity. Steve Winn and his team are, without question, #1 in Idaho. Their professionalism, kindness, and dedication made a difficult project feel manageable and even uplifting. Sincerely, Two grateful old folks from Shelley, Idaho David and Karen Petersen

A technician came out, serviced the unit, and identified the issue: a faulty blower. He provided a quote for the replacement, which I approved immediately. That's when the problems began. Ten days later, I called for an update and was told the part hadn't even been ordered. Another ten days later, I was informed the part wasn't available, but they could try retrofitting a similar one. When I asked if there were other options, they said no--so I agreed. On the scheduled day, I took time off work, only to receive a call 30 minutes after they were supposed to arrive saying they could now order the correct part directly from the manufacturer--something they had previously claimed was impossible. To proceed, I had to pay in full immediately. Fast forward three months, and I still didn't have a working fireplace. For weeks, I was repeatedly told, "It should arrive next week." Finally, after expressing my frustration, I got a call at 5:00 PM saying they had located the part, expedited shipping, and could complete the repair the next day. I took another day off work. The technician arrived--but with the wrong part. Instead of tracking down the actual component, they gave him a universal one that didn't fit. They then assured me the correct part would arrive in two days. This time, my wife took the day off work. The technician showed up an hour and a half late (after I had called and reminded them we had rearranged our schedules for this), but they finally made the repair. Other issues worth noting: I was promised a callback from a manager or owner--still waiting on that. Their phone system is a mess. Every time I was placed on hold (which was often), someone else would pick up and begin a different conversation. I would explain who I was and they would say "oh, let me put you back on park." The three coldest months of winter without my primary heat source, multiple days off work, countless phone calls, and constant misinformation (what my generation would call lies). I will never use this company again.

He asked me if I wanted to buy the part from him for $159. That's 1700% markup. I told him I was aware that the part was only a few dollars on Amazon. I told him if he wanted to shoot straight with me I'd buy it but otherwise I would just grab one off Amazon. That was yesterday and Amazon delivered the part today for $8.99. They also told me the blower was going bad. I looked up the blower and it was $113. He quoted me $980 to install it. I don't know how labor intensive it is to install but youtube videos make it seem pretty fast and easy, but I felt like they were charging too much for parts and labor and chose to not do any further business with them. Just the $59 and they left. I left them a 1 star review and the owner called me within a few minutes and proceeded to yell at me and called me a coward. He went on to tell me to F myself and insulted my mother etc. Told me to eat a and a ton of other highly professional insults. Never in my life have I ever experienced such a nasty a$$ business. He said he would refund me too but after his episode of name calling he told me that "I won't be getting back Sh+t." Before scheduling the appointment I spoke with the tech on the phone (Eric) and had a FaceTime session where I showed him the installation and answered his questions. I explained what was wrong, how it happened, and what I thought needed to be done. He agreed that the right thing to do was to refill and purge the system before reaching any other conclusions re: the need to replace the boiler. Eric showed up the next day, quickly figured out what was wrong, fixed an incorrectly installed pump (it leaked) that the previous company had installed, refilled/pressurized the system, and systematically verified that all was well. After an hour and a half the system was back up and running. The difference I noted with Sprinter was that the tech was highly competent, communicated well, was completely honest, and actually intended to fix the problem rather than empty my wallet. Needless to say, my experience with Sprinter was extremely positive. I only wish that I had found them before I wasted a whole lot of money on trying to get the first two companies to actually fix what was wrong.

After talking to the unit's manufacturer (including sending them pictures of the installation), and consulting the installation manual, it's clear that Sprinter did not properly install the unit. They used 5" pipe, placed the intake/outtake pipes about 12" apart, and didn't put a 90-degree joint/endcap on both pipes. As the installation manual clearly states, the pipes should be max 4" diameter, the pipes should be minimum 3' apart, and both pipes should have endcaps. Fixing these problems solved the issue. I've called and emailed Sprinter with no response. I will never use them or recommend them to anyone.
