Shafiaq Khouli and his SK Concrete team built on our back yard a 14' x 14' SPA niche including a…read more12' x 12' x 5" reinforced concrete pad, foundation, drainage, three sides surrounding half high retaining walls and embedded SPA electrical wiring conduit. They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

As a stoneyard and landscape center, a large portion of our product is sold by weight....our scale went down......and showed an error code which would not let it operate......this of course happened on Friday morning.....with the scale down....we were shut down for sales on 60 % of our product with the weekend coming up (our busiest days)......we needed resolution fast....fast....fast.... the scale has been operational for 6 years straight....so we had no procedure in this matter for repair.....I called the manufacturer and they recommended PacWest Scale as our closet vendor.....I called into the office and let them know that we were dead in the water and needed help.... the person in he service dept....indicated he would check with his area techs and see what they could do to assist....I hoped for a quick response back wonderfully.....I got a call back in about 30 min.....indicating that a tech was finishing up in chino....and would drive into us THAT DAY....I was of course thrilled..... we were informed that due to the travel distance from chino to our yard in Altadena.....there would be a travel premium.....I of course agreed....and hoped it would not be too expensive.....for the overall repair...... the tech who came out could not have been nicer....and worked our scale in the heat and sun for 2 and a half hours......and replace a broken leveling foot and pad and re calibrated our system......I told myself....this is going to be about 500 bucks with labor, parts and travel time..... to my surprise the total bill came to $267.00.....in my book a bargain for same day service, labor , travel time and parts.......!!! Pac West came thru when we needed them.....and we were up and running for a very busy weekend!!!!! Bravo Pac West......every one on your team from service to dispatch to service tech.... top notch!!!!! if you have an issue.....you have to call these guys!!!!

The crews are always on point with their work--excellent climbers, precision cutters, and fantastic cleaners, especially given the mess that yard work produces. We have hired Robin's team several times in the past six years: to trim a massive Italian pine tree, a palm tree, and a mandarin tree at one home (during the appropriate season for each), and at a new home now, a much larger project that is being done in phases. We've just completed phase one, which included the removal of a huge Brazilian Pepper Tree, several Liquid Amber trees, a Camphor tree, the removal of shrubs/bushes, and some trimming of privacy trees. It unfortunately happened to be super hot during their last visit, and the crew somehow still didn't miss a beat! Our new neighbors praised the work of Robin's crew as well, which really says something. This company is my go-to for tree trimming, plant removal, and soon enough, new landscaping. We hired Minez Concrete to pour a brand new, 200ft long driveway with curbs - one of the final stages of a lengthy and painful custom home build process. I paid extra for a sand finish. Not too happy with the way it turned out . The slab is uneven and lumpy in a few areas, with some brush marks visible, and already cracked in a couple of spots. They also failed to properly mask our garage door before the pour and ruined the bottom two panels with concrete splatter, which had to be replaced (they did cover some of the replacement cost). After the slab fully cured, I asked Oswaldo to come back and pressure wash the driveway a few times, but he never showed up to finish the job properly, which was disappointing. Their pricing is reasonable, but three stars is about right, considering the quality.
