Some were like puppies, slipping, sliding, and dropping, dragging, equipment up and down my stairs. First mistake, a drop cloth to cover wooden stairs, thus the slipping and sliding as some hurriedly navigated the stairs. I heard more than one person fall. It sounded like a slip and slide. I'll add in here the dragging of the vac hose across the stairs, bansiter, and front door was heard in the back yard. Second, I was led to believe by sales guy Noah that there would be no dust because there would be a "tunnel" to the front door so nothing got out. The tunnel was along the upstairs hall of maybe 15 feet and opened onto the top of the stairs. I have mild asthma and had to use a mask while I waited in the taped off kitchen. I was told further that because they sealed the holes, it would not enter the house. Third mistake was that they did not cover there air vent above the HVAC unit, or if the did, when they removed the protection they were not careful to make sure the vent remained clear. As a result, the insulation partially covered the vent and some fell through onto and into my fan/heater unit. Last mistake. Over the course of the day, the floor protection and tunnel came loose or was torn. My bedroom door became ajar and the plastic tunnel came loose so insulation dust was blown into the bedroom by the wind. In one other bedroom, insulation migrated under the door where the tunnel was supposed to be. I am critical because if you are going to do a job, take the time to do it right. Crew was supposed to be on site before eight. They started at 9:30. Be on time. For a young crew, you need a forman or some other quality control. I chose the blown in cellulose. The price was competitive for the amount of work they had to do and the size of the crew. They were a hard working crew, but inexperienced, and that led to other small mistakes. They were respectful and polite. This is what made this a three star and why I recommended them, however, the homeowner needs stay on top of the work being done.

Their quote was in-line with the competition as well. Russell has an extensive background doing these jobs himself so he knows what he's talking about. Russell also came over a second time to discuss options for routing our two bath fan exhaust ducts to roof vents when I weighed adding that to our scope. We executed our install over two days in October and everything went smoothly. After air sealing and adding soffit baffling, they blew R30 cellulose over our existing bats. We also added a gasket around our attic access and insulated the back of the panel. My only recommendation is that you, the homeowner, clean your house after the cellulose blowing. There will be fine paper material in the air everywhere, which will settle as dust. Seven months later and our house has been noticeably more temperature stable- warmer over winter and cooler during our recent hot days. Don't skip air-sealing, and make sure to quote with Guardian if you're looking for the best result for your house!

Just completed the "Spray Foam Roofing" on my flat roof. For the last few years I have had…read moreproblems with leaking and the rooms below the flat roof were either really hot in the summer or extremely cold in the winter. "Spray Foam" is the best product I have found to fix leaky roofs! I'm ready for my first rain! The roof is guaranteed against leaks for 10 years and they will come out and check the product is holding up as a courtesy a year or two later. The estimate is very detailed as to the process and when the staff found some additional rotted wood under the original roofing material, it was replaced without any extra charges. How often do you find that these days?! Mike Runyon is the project manager and his staff (Chico) were very professional, courteous, had great communication skills, and there was never a mess during or after the job.
