It has been two years since I came here and my hair still has not recovered. If you look at my…read moreprofile you will see, I have no problem writing reviews. I felt so angry after leaving, that I did not think it was appropriate to write my review at that time. I'm ready. I came to Beauty Spa 54 to get my hair touched up and a trim. At the time my hair was down to my tailbone, and very thick. I had about 3 inches or more of growth and was looking for it to match the rest of my hair which had been highlighted. I asked for subtle highlights. When I arrived, I found it a bit odd and off-putting that I was the only person besides the owner in the entire place. But I had a great deal through the Yelp voucher and the reviews were all amazing, so I ignored that little voice. That little voice popped up throughout my experience. It told me to leave. I was there for hours. Lisa did eventually admit the person who does color was out that day, and I feel like that's the moment I should have left, but I stayed. By the time I got up the courage to leave, my little trim was more like a 4 inch cut that had chunks of hair missing and the color made me look like a toddler tried it at home. I ended up having to go to a different salon and they had no choice but to take my once beautiful tailbone length hair up to just past my shoulders. I cried in her chair. My hair looked so incredibly bad. When I went home I immediately emailed Yelp and showed them my pictures. I didn't pay her. I am glad I didn't pay her because I cried for days and it still hurts to look at what it once was.

I wanted this place to be so good because of all the reviews and how many stars they received…read more Unfortunately my visit left me kind of annoyed. I came around 2-3 to get an oil treatment because my usual place wasn't open. I called before hand to make sure they do oil treatments because not all hair places do this. I asked her how much it was before arriving because some places like to charge A LOT. Her price was depending on my hair length but oil treatments for hair doesn't depend on length...I wasn't getting anything more. First thought was that it's very hidden, if you miss the entry into the shopping center you have to UTURN out and back in. Once I walked inside it was nice and I was the only person there, so no wait time needed. She started washing my hair and working on it. Same process I'm used to. The oil she used has a very strong smell that I'm not used to. (Starts with an "m") the smell was so over powering it gave me a headache for a week. She kept bragging about how good it smelled, but to me it smelled weird. Once I finished the treatment, she washed my hair and started to brush it. I literally had to carry my own wet hair to her chair with a small towel and my hair is not short... so I got pretty wet. After that she asked if I wanted my hair blow dried. I would think that it was a given because why would I want to leave with wet hair.... Once she was finished, I went up to pay for my oil treatment and she gave me the price then told me that she wasn't going to charge me for the blow dry. I'm shook. At this point was when I got annoyed. Who charges for blow drying hair? Especially for oil treatments where I'm bound to get my hair wet. I tipped her well because I have long hair and I want to support my people working in this field. But I don't think I'll be coming back.

I was lying down in the electric bed and we were discussing what machines, facial, massages, treatments I like. That day, I was there for an IPL photofacial, the not-so-secret, secret to porcelain almost spot free (but getting there) skin. Did you get that? Try saying it faster. LOL We agreed on our philosophy. Yes we've both tried ayurvedic methods before and she said, "yes, you can pay me money. I can rub you for an hour and it will feel nice. But I want for you, results." (Did your mind go to a dirty place? I had to hold my giggles in when she said this.) But hallelujah. Yes sistah, we want results!! While we were calibrating the laser for treatment. She said, "on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being nothing, 10 is hurting. We need to be at an 8. We'll stop if you need to catch your breath but 8 is what we need." I thought i was working at an 8 but i think i can handle more next time. She almost seemed disappointed that I couldn't handle more. She was thorough, took her time and explained things as she went and asked how I was doing. Great bedside manner. The Spa is quiet, well decorated, comfortable and very private. You won't see or hear much activity but there are other things going on in that space. Love the hushed environment and personal attention.

I usually have my normal nail place that I go to in the Woodlands, but I decided to try this place…read morebecause of convenience. I Usually just get nail polish or shellac pedicure at my normal place. The gentleman at Cloud9 that was going to do my pedicure suggested for me to get acrylic overlay on my big toe because there was a small split on the edge of my nail and that he said it would probably crack all the way down if I didn't get acrylic to protect. I've never had that issue before and I've had plenty of small splits on my toe nails on my toe nails and im now 48. So I did get acrylic on just that one big toe the rest of them were shellac. About three weeks later, I went to my normal place to take off the shellac and acrylic from that big toe to get a new pedicure done to my unfortunate surprise when the acrylic was being taken off I noticed a large green stain the nail tech and my normal place. said it happens when a acrylic job is not done properly and humidity and water goes in between the nail and the acrylic. I am so devastated because I should've just stayed going to my normal place instead of trying Cloud9 and now sadly, I have this situation where almost my whole toe is green and a split that goes almost all the way down in the middle of my toe. . We're about to enter the summertime and I will not be able to wear sandals and worst I'm going to have to go see a foot doctor and they will probably tell me that my whole nail has to be removed. All because someone suggested something to make more money and they didn't know what they were doing. Here's a picture in case you need evidence.

They confirmed the week before and again the day before. When I arrived I was taken to the dressing room and given a robe and slippers. I went to the quiet room while I waited on my technician. The quiet room was nice, I got champagne while I waited. My tech came right on time and had I thought about it, I would have arrived a little earlier to relax more. The pedicure was nice but quick, an hour, which is standard but the price was $101 before any tips. Just for the pedicure. No other services. Nice spa but too expensive for my tastes. A full day or multiple services would cost over $200. They also had a full selection of skin care items, hats and jewelry.

Then they give the option to slip a robe on and start you off with a complimentary drink ina waiting room to make me more curious. I chose mimosas and they were delightful. Got called just like you would a massage and I was taken in a room full of nail massage chairs like a normal nail salon but it was just me and the nail tech and she was super sweet! The chair did not have any pressure style options. Just taps which was a bummer. She did both the pedi and mani so you want to expect you'll be in there a while which I was told ahead of time which was nice so I could make sure I had that time (2 hours). Now, it wasn't a big massage style but the company made up for it and my nails turned out beautiful. She made sure to layer the nail polish to help keep them on longer. Definitely different from a typical nail salon but I definitely don't knock it and would come back again.

I just finished a peel and my skin feels softer and looks brighter and even-toned. I typically wear a lot of liquid foundation and then top with a powder foundation, but since my peel I only needed to wear the powder. This weekend I am coming in for a microderm. She works uniquely every individual and recommends what they need. Her suite is super comfy that I just want to nap. The only thing I dread about coming here are the extractions! I changed my diet, I switched skin regimes too often to count, I started cleaning my bed sheets weekly, and nope, nothing seemed to relieve it. After talking to a friend, she told me I should try getting a facial and thanks to Yelp! I was able to find Giselle and haven't looked back since. She really takes her time with you. I always go with her recommendation on what kind of treatment to do, and my skin always looks great after. Her prices aren't too shabby either, I've never had a facial before her, so after visiting her my expectations were very high. One time my friend wanted to go to a facial, and I was a bit hesitant because I already had a great Giselle! But I decided to try it out and there was a promotion. No, never again! I felt it was a waste and they were so rushed and rough during extractions. I will always go back to Giselle, don't doubt your gut. Give her a try, make sure you get an appointment!
