Got a wash, blowdry, and styling here for an event because it was the only place I could get in on a Sunday morning. Absolutely hated it. I can't even say you get what you pay for because it was $59 before tip, which is more than I pay at an actual blowout bar I normally go to. I still tipped $10 even though I wasn't happy with it. I had a female start my wash and then I got passed off to David, who I showed a photo of a blowout to and just said I wanted volume, and he said "yes of course we can do that." He didn't even do the front of my hair so I left with straight wet strands in the front. He kept dropping stuff and burning my scalp with the blow dryer. I didn't say anything at the time because they had customers after me and I was in a time crunch. When I looked at it at home, my mom asked what I even got done. My hair looked no different than when I air dry it. I used my Shark blow dryer to fix it myself after and even that came out better. read more

I wanted a haircut for an upcoming trip and wasn't due at my regular salon for another almost four weeks. I liked that this place allows you to book online, HOWEVER, that's only available during their open hours, so I had to wait until the following morning to see if they even had anything available. No prices are posted anywhere on the site and I didn't notice any when I went inside. I just like to know what to expect. I chose a 1:00pm slot and was taken right away. They had almost every slot available, which was convenient for me. There were a few men in and out getting cuts and I overheard them getting charged $24.95 for their cuts, so I figured I'd get charged something similar, possibly a little more. The price was $39.95, which I thought was a little expensive, considering it was only a wash (just shampoo, no conditioner) and cut (no product). No blow-dry. go to a nice salon, and the whole works is just slightly more than this. The staff was okay. Two people. The woman who cut my hair wasn't really friendly. It's not really a requirement, but I don't like to feel like I'm "bothering" someone at their job? Did I interrupt your break? I personally wouldn't return. This was an emergency where I needed a cut that specific day, and this was my only option as far as salons with openings that day. I learned my lesson and will plan ahead! read more

Excellent job! Professional, knowledgeable, respectful! Clean. Didn't feel pressured to purchase products or services. Wasn't annoyed by gossip or nosey disrespect. Stylist came in on her day off, had to train new employee, and was experiencing network problems and still remained professional with no bad attitude. Highly recommend. Very highly. She's kind, knowledgeable, has the most patience and is always available for questions about their services, etc. I'd request her over anyone. She's the reason I come back every two weeks. I stopped by Wallingford salon to get my haircut and the girl that cut my hair last was off that day. I gave the guy stylist there a chance. I hate to say, it's the worst haircut I've ever gotten in my life! I asked if he put layers in my hair and he said, yes. I couldn't tell because my hair was wet. I got home and couldn't even style my hair! My hair went every which way and it was also uneven! I went back to the salon twice to complain, but the guy was standing in the window cutting hair, so I didn't want to walk in. Don't stylist follow a certain way to cut hair? First of all, I want to say that everyone there seemed very nice (this was on Wednesday, 10/12). Having said that, my haircut came out pretty badly. I asked for #2 clippers on the sides and back, and finger length on top. The Supercuts closer to my house has no problem with this (they were the ones who told me the top length was called finger length). What I got was much shorter on top than I wanted (too late to do anything about when when I saw it). Also, there are parts on the sides that are longer than the rest. I couldn't tell that part because the stylist slathered on way too much gel all over my head, even after I said all I use is some paste in the front. I won't be going back there again. read more

I went in around noon on a Monday and got right in the chair. Marissa cut my hair exactly like the pic I showed her. She was friendly, talkative, but not chatty. I've gone to other walk in, low price salons in the area (like Cost Cutters or other locations of this same salon) and done a lot better. Would rather pay more if I could get a decent cut. read more

The first time I went here was out of sheer desperation to fix a horrible "trim" I had gotten moments before at a salon nearby. I have an inverted bob and it's not the simplest trim to make, but the stylist at the first salon clearly had no idea what was going on because I left looking and feeling like a weed whacker had had its way with my hair. No way could I go to work looking like this. I couldn't fix it myself, it was after 6pm... and there it was. Supercuts. Most ladies my age dismiss Supercuts as a place for men to get a clipper cut or for unruly children to go. Out of sheer desperation and an "it can't get any worse" mind, I went. I'm still going back a few years later. Why? Kennedy and Shay are both incredibly talented. Either lady could very well be working at a super high end salon probably making double what they currently make. My biggest fear is that I will call one day to make sure one or the other is working and they will have both moved on. They really are that good. They ask questions. They remember you and what's going on in your life. That shows they pay attention which is critical with hair. They are both on point with every cut I've ever gotten there. My biggest call out would be to tip them for their quality of work and not based on the price of the haircut. They are worth every penny. read more

Decided to have my hair colored here. I would not recommend this particular salon to anyone. I used two colors and the way the second color was applied was extremely uneven. Unfortunately, on 8/16/2017, I took my son and husband to Super Cuts on Ives Road in Wallingford. We specifically asked if the stylists do beard trimming and they said yes. My son's hair was not quite what was asked but outside of choppy cuts, uneven lines, and a missing part that he had specifically asked for, it was tolerable. My husband asked to have the beard tapered down from the sideburns and fade into the beard that would be thicker at the bottom. The hairdresser immediately shaved off the sides and gave him a goatee and mustache. She then had to shave it all off since that was not what was requested. My husband spent months growing out his beard only to leave the salon with nothing. He was left with a 5:00 shadow and a mustache with long hairs sticking out. Both guys were not brushed off afterwards, it took less than 10 minutes, and costed $45. When I approached the manager to discuss a refund on the beard he would not provide me with one and asked me to bring them both back to "fix it." I am not sure how we were going to fix a beard that no longer exists. I told him that I refused to bring them back and that both of them were home devastated. I now need to take them to another salon to fix what was done, costing me more money. All I was asking was for a refund on the beard. The manager did not agree that he should compensate for the terrible experience and that he would offer our next haircut free. I certainly won't be returning so that won't make up for it. In closing our disagreement, he told me it was "just hair" and that it grows back and that I shouldn't be so upset. He insisted that providing me with a refund for a terrible service was not the way to resolve the issue and that it was all a "miscommunication." I have to disagree. We have been to Super Cuts in the past and aren't always happy with the result but we never complain and always tip well. It's not about the hair, it's about running a business that cares about customers. This time was a bit extreme and as a repeat customer I had hoped for better customer service. I'm am extremely disappointed at the lack of compensation for our experience, as well as his disregard for my feelings and hard-earned money. read more

The entire experience was horrific. When I walked in immediately I had to wait a few minutes for someone to help me, and when she finally arrived she was bat shit insane. While cutting my hair she kept talking about how smart her children were and would not stop showing me how much money her children had gotten from scholarships. She stopped the haircut for 10 minutes to fish out the emails and put her phone screen on my eyeballs and showed me it at least eight times. Ive never heard someone say "$96,000 That's a lot right?!?!?!" So many times in my entire life. On top of it all she insisted I buy a minty shampoo and would fix my dandruff (caused by eczema and other skin conditions) With "minty" I don't know how much "minty" is proven to work but I wasn't going to spend $30 to find out. The best part of all was my jacked up haircut it was pretty much a buzz cut when I asked for a trim and she used the 2 clip and just shaved my head. She also didn't understand English very well so communication was a barrier. I told her twice that it wasn't necessary but she insisted on "blending" my hair but she was just thinning it out. Now my hair is an uneven buzz cut and needless to say I look about as close to an egg as you can get. I have many important events coming up and it's so unfortunate Supercuts can't do much more than use a clIp and hire people with zero ability doing cutting hair, communicating, or really anything for that matter. I am new to Wallingford so I was trying to places but am happy to announce I will never be coming back to this shithole of an establishment. read more

You get what you pay for. Inexpensive alternative, walk in convenience, but the stylists either don't listen to what you want or are incapable of cutting different styles. Been in 3 times, 3 different girls, 1 style cut which is not how I described it. Long on top, short on sides - sounds simple enough. Everytime I walk out with a buzz cut same length everywhere. Not a good place to go. I have a very simple hair cut which is why I refuse to pay $40+ at the fancy salons. This place is awful. There is one girl who has multi-colored hair (1st station on the right) who can't cut hair straight to save her life. I've had her on several occasions and come home to lopsided ends each time. They used to charge $15, but the last lousy haircut I got, they charged me $20. Never went back again. Stay away, unless you want lopsided layers. read more

I have been going to Supercuts for about a year and a half about every 6 weeks. Today was the last time I am going there. I have layers in my hair and I just wanted about an inch off of them. Well, the top layers were not even done and this is the second time it has happened. It looks like I just paid for a trim off the entire length. This is the fourth time in a row something has gone wrong with my hair. I should have learned after the first time. I will be changing hair salons. I have brought my son here a few times for a haircut. I was never impressed with the staff, they all seemed like you were bothering them and had bad attitudes. the first time I overlooked it because everyone has a bad day but the attitudes just continued getting worse. The last time I went I actually decided to get a TRIM while my son got his hair cut. I have very thick long hair and they tried cutting it after spritzing it with water. Ended up cutting 6 inches off when i asked for a trim. I had to leave there and go to my normal salon and get it fixed!!! And to top it off while I was getting my hair chopped and ruined I hear my son telling the lady that shes hurting him and she then yells at him telling him its his fault because he moved his head. He's 9 so he knows how to sit still and never had a problem before. You could not pay me to return here!! read more
