It seems if you're looking for a barber/salon in a big city or shopping centre, Supercuts is a brand which is almost impossible to avoid, this branch in Westfield Stratford City just makes me think "Why do I bother?"
Obviously you can't make appointments in advance which is pretty common with Supercuts who seem to share the same pricing at the majority of locations (the pricing is pretty good considering it's a London location, but that price doesn't work in smaller towns where other barbers do it for a fraction of the cost), the lack of appointments is made worse due to the ultra-small size of the store. I can't understand how they remain in such a small unit, it's hard to sit in the chair without someone being directly behind you, people bumping into you, there is little room to just sit around and wait, and with wait times often exceeding an hour it can be rather tricky.
They do have a small range of hair products to purchase, but again everything seems to be smaller and dimmed down compared to your average Supercuts store. The staff seemed a little rude, when I asked regarding the waiting time they didn't seem to care if I stayed or left, I felt like they actually tried to push me to leave as let's face it on a man's treatment (a simple dry cut) they are going to make less money than a woman, so it felt like they were prioritising customers, which from a business point of view I can understand but surely if they didn't want to offer men's services they should either not offer them, and because they do, they should deliver the same degree of service.
I wish I could say this experience will be my last Supercuts, but due to their dominance in the UK market, I will probably be back (but certainly not at this location). 1* read more
