Worst service ever, this salon doesn't understand the basic principle of client service!
I walked in to Sean Hanna in Canary Wharf at around 5:05pm (the salon closes at 6pm on Sundays) and i asked to get my hair blow dried only as i had just washed it at the gym 30' ago so should be fairly doable in 55' / especially given they had no customers and three stylists waiting.
The stylist starts on my hair he dissects it as if it was an animal and asks me if i have dandruff, which i say that's not the case. He goes to the receptionist who comes and says we are concerned you might have hair lice? Another stylist who seemed more experienced comes and checks my hair and is like she just has dry scalp you can work on her hair.
I was already getting frustrated to be treated like a zoo animal with three people bending over my head but fine.
I asked to get a straight blow dry, no volume and a tiny bit of movement at the ends. Then the stylist starts on my hair, he wasn't handling it very professionally the brush he was using was hitting my face with no apology, he was quite slow as well. I ask him "can you hurry up?" he doesn't understand, can "you speed up?" doesn't get it either. The experienced stylists comes again and translates "she wants you to go faster".
Towards the end of the process i see the hair has still a lot of volume, and i say look i specified i didn't want volume as i have very voluminous hair. He tries again...after 45' of sitting there, i was like i want this to be over, it's not being done professionally.
Here instead of having another stylist come and help the struggling stylist, the receptionist jumps at me and says "You are being very rude! We are doing you a favour by taking you before closing and not washing you hair. You have upset one of my best stylists!". In shock, i tell her "I wasnt being rude, am giving feedback, you are in a client service industry, you need to listen to feedback and then you decide if you take it on board or not, and I don't appreciate being called rude while i wasn't. This is not the way you treat a customer!". Worse, the stylist who was working on my hair starts making fun of me, "oh poor you the brush hit your face"". I ended up walking out and not paying and am never going to step there again.
It's not about the hair / level of qualification,it's about the way I was treated, I was called rude, mocked and told they "were doing me a favour".
Never seen something like this... read more
