I have been coming here for years, like since elementary school, and let me tell you, I don't know why I still do. 75% of the time I just leave disappointed. If you have thick and textured/curly hair (like me), prepare to always be disappointed. Today, I came in for a trim and deep curtain bangs, I told the hair stylist don't cut to my chin, it need to be a few inches below/longer than what she thinks since when dries it will shrink up/puff/curl up. I did show her where to cut it (about 2 inches below where she originally wanted) but she decided to cut it to where she originally wanted to. All she could do was apologize. She didn't even blow dry my hair, probably did not want to see the result of what I told her not to do. When I air dried it at home, it came to my lips(looks very awkward). Luckily, hair grows, unfortunately for me, my hair grows super slow. You get what you paid for, it's cheap and fast (took 30mins to wash and trim my hair). Total cost: $31 for the wash and cut and $6 for tip. If you have straight hair or a guy, this place might give you better results. Parking is ample. They are busy in the weekends and walk in are better suited to when they just open. Will I return? Probably for a trim, never for anything else. read more

I can only visit my dad once a week on Sundays. We came to Supercuts to get him a much needed haircut. One lady said they were too busy & to come back in 2.5 hours. I explained I wouldn't be in the area & asked to make an appointment for next Sunday. Another stylist, Lien, overheard and offered to squeeze him in between appointments. She did an amazing job fixing the haircut that we tried to do at home. She even trimmed up his eyebrows and goatee. She put customer service first, we will definitely be back! read more

I had high hopes to get a quick haircut in my neighborhood. I've made three appointments for a haircut, but unfortunately every time I showed up at the designated time my haircut was delayed at least by an hour!? I don't understand the point of making an appointment time if there's no one there to honor it? This was not my first experience at Supercuts Carmel Mountain, but my visit this past weekend cemented that it will definitely be my last experience with them. I had been shopping at Home Depot and realized that my hair was getting on the long side, I had some time before my next engagement and decided to stop in, remembering the first visit that I had with them resulted in a $10 buzz cut. When I arrived there was one gentleman waiting, I gave my name and number to the elderly lady cutting hair up front. When she asked me if I had an appointment I said "no" and she made a disgusted noise and feigned hitting me. What the actual fuck lady? Your sign out front says "walk-ins welcome." I was a walk-in and I certainly did not feel welcome at that. I didn't have to wait long until my experience continued. The newer Asian lady took me to my chair and insisted I say her name back to her upon introducing herself. Again, what the actual fuck lady? I'm here for a haircut, not a lifelong friendship. I asked for a zero buzz all over. She argued with me and put the half guard on. When she realized it wasn't really doing much of anything she removed it and continued with the "zero", which was closer to a one guard at other hair cut places. Several times the blades caught my hair and she just kept right on going. Knicked my ear to the point I involuntarily flinched. She said "I'm sorry" at least three times throughout the haircut. Amateur hour over here at Supercuts. I also loved when she removed the neck strip and saw the hair on my neck and started laughing. So thanks for that too. When she was done, she asked if I wanted a shampoo, which I declined. I then had to explain to her liking that I was going home to take a shower anyway if that was okay with her. When we got to payment, she charged me $20, for a buzz cut!! This is not a complicated haircut and I was in and out of there in 20 minutes at most. For the third time, what in the actual fuck lady!? To top it off, when I got home I saw that there were some missed spots where the hair was longer and sticking out. I don't really care about that because it'll grow out in a week, but somehow she did all of the above and still managed to fuck up a buzz cut. Don't go to Supercuts if you have anything more complicated than...well shit I don't know what's simpler to do than a buzz cut. I guess just don't go there at all. EDIT: My response to Ryan below there - "Ryan, It kind of sucks to me that the role of Corporate Apologist even exists. Somewhere someone figured out that instead of offering a quality product at a decent price, they could roll the dice and just offer apologies and freebies/refunds to those that spoke up about crappy business practices and horrible experiences. It's got to be a tough job and I'm sure you're very good at it, but I am not even remotely interested in returning to supercuts Carmel Mountain. I think I even mentioned that in my review. Frankly, I think I probably could have closed my eyes and known the content of your apology as soon as it showed up in my inbox without even reading it, so similar does it sound to every other corporate apology I've ever seen. Almost like somebody copy/pasted it instead of actually putting some thought into how to improve their business practices. Forget me man, I'm a lost cause to your company. I expect an appointment to be started at the time agreed, not a whole half hour later. Was told, "okay, I'll put you down for 11." I said, okay, so 30 minutes." "Whatever, yeah." Put my name in. Showed up at 10:55; waited for a bit. At 11:03 stylist says "Oh, are you [name]? Sorry - I misquoted you. It's going to be at least 20 more minutes." I asked why they didn't call me and she rolled her eyes, said nothing, and walked away. Such a bad experience. The woman who cut my hair took me to her back left booth. As I waited for her to begin, she begins picking a fight with the hairstylist behind her about the music not playing. Both women thought they turned it on apparently. But my stylist kept accusing the other stylist of being on her phone and ignoring the problem. I think that bickering is a bigger problem. The other stylist laughed it off, but how is that professional? Why do the two people cutting hair need to witness that exchange? It made the whole thing tense and uncomfortable. I asked her to cut my hair to a point in the back and do tapered layers. First she cut my hair to a straight line, and then said she'd need to cut my front hair to my shoulders to give me a point cut (I came in with waist length hair and asked for one inch off). *It was already cut to a point in the back.* She just had to use my hair as a guide. I asked her to please taper my layers. She gave me choppy, chunky layers, no attempt was made to taper. But after her rude, unprofessional behavior toward her associate, I didn't want to ask anything more of her or let her do my hair anymore than to just have even. She doesn't seem capable of assertive conversation, just passive aggression. I guess I'm done with Supercuts. I see them closing everywhere. I suspect this is why. Horrible horrible horrible. I went here because I had a $5 off coupon. Checked in online at home, only to have to wait in a 10 minute line at the register while the salesperson/hairstylist was up-selling another customer on products. It took forever to get checked in. Hair stylist comes to me and asks if another customer who is "in a rush" can go ahead of me. I proceed to wait 15 minutes for the next available stylist to be ready. What could've been an easy 30 minute trip was over an hour long. They were incredibly rude and disrespectful. I was floored by the level of unprofessionalism. The haircut was great. My stylist did a good job. I paid full price and left a 25% tip for her work. I am never going back to this location and will advise others to stay away as well. I was shocked and asked her what she thought she was doing and she actually said that she thought a person like me would look better with shorter hair. Warning about their waxing service: No surprises here, it's decent but not up to par with Salon quality at all. She put more effort than the salon lady did to get rid of facial hair but she did not know which wax to use initially for more stubborn ingrown hairs. Also, the lady at Supercuts forced me to sit uncomfortably for waxing and used her hands without gloves too much, which could cause acne. However, they use better wax than many independent cheap waxing places run by families and use aloe vera instead of lotion for my oily skin. Good value, but don't bother if you are looking for salon quality waxing for facial hair. Getting more than you pay for (which is only $6) isn't much if you are only paying $6. If you insist on being cheap with waxing but still demand looking less hairy, than go to Supercuts. I prefer Supercuts for haircuts though. I am a believer in a cheap low maintenance haircut that is executed well, and they definitely deliver well in that category. read more
