Jason gave me a grande trim yesterday!! Cutting very short hair is a real art! He did a "super" job!!!!!!

I didn't expect much from Supercuts but i just wanted a trim before the new year and thought to myself how could anyone mess up a simple trim. well! i learned my lesson. I went in with hair almost down to my butt and came out with it at my shoulders! i just wanted a few inches off! I told her to "just cut it the same length as yours" (Her hair was curled and still way past her chest btw). once she made that first cut , i gasped and said i didn't think you were going to go that short. she said "sorry it's the same as mine" and proceeded to cut. SMH. I could've told her to stop but the damage was done already. To top it off, the layers are also poorly done and very heavy on top. I think her name was Aurora or something. She was nice but not good at listening. Learned my lesson to just be patient and stay with my favorite hair person even though she books out pretty far. I hoped my hair would just grow out fast but nope, it's one of those slow growth years i guess. everytime i style it I still hate it and think about how much regret i have for that cut...even now ugh read more

Read the reviews before going is all I need to say. The entire haircut was rushed, it only took 10-15 minutes! After she rushed through the hair cut I asked her to make some more touch ups to which she was obviously annoyed at me asking? Then after she quickly cut more of my hair, I asked if I could see the back with a mirror before finishing and, she ignored me and still took off the tape/cape. Unless you know who will be cutting your hair, I would not take your chances here. Added: As I am writing this review I see the same person who cut my hair walking back to the salon with a Starbucks coffee. If you go here, please ask for Amy. She does a wonderful job and is very efficient. I have done my hair here with her twice. I typically go to a high end salon in downtown Oceanside and spend 120 for a cut and blow dry, but Amy's work is far better than the jobs I'm getting done at the high end salon. Supercuts is known for not having to reserve an appointment with your hairdresser. That's wonderful for me because it's very convenient. I needed to get just a haircut today because I have really long hair and I wanted to look more professional and have an easy to maintain hairstyle. I decided on getting a shoulder length cut in the back and a Bob Haircut. My layered bangs have grown out and I will not get them cut again. I drove over to the Supercuts that's located nearby the Von's Market. Then I walked into the entrance to the front door. I saw two women hair stylist inside this Supercuts Shop. I arrived at 5:09 p.m. Chloe was greeted me with a very friendly smile and she asked me , What kind of haircut do I want? Chloe also said their employees want to save their customers money so their haircuts, shampooing, and their blow drying styling are on A La Cart Basis that means each customer pays for their services for one thing and it saves them a lot of money. Chloe said she will cut my hair dry and said my hair is still clean and my hair doesn't need a shampoo. Because when I asked Chloe the price for a shampoo and haircut. The price is $35.00. That is not within my budget. Chloe also said she will give me a 10 percent discount because I am an older lady. Chloe charged me $26.00 with the discounted price of 10 percent off my haircut. I was very happy with my haircut and also with the discounted rate. Then Chloe gave me a mirror to look at the back of my hair. My haircut was cut straight in the back and my hair feels much lighter and I look much younger now than my age. I also gave Chloe a $2.00 tip so my total cost yesterday was $28.00. Chloe was very thankful for the tip I gave to her and she was also happy that I loved my haircut. I told Chloe I want her to cut off 6 inches off the back of my hair and Chloe suggested just cutting the bottom straight across in a Bob Style. Chloe also mentioned that since I have fine hair now and my bangs have grown out to not get my bangs cut again in a layered style. Because my hair will look fuller . I agree with Chloe. Chloe had me look down and she started to trim off 6 inches off the back of my really long hair. My long hair was touching my waist. read more

I went to the Supercuts on Oceanside Blvd and College. Its a store owned by a man who has other Supercuts franchises in the area. The color and cut I received weren't good. I think the "stylist " just didn't have the experience or expertise to address what I wanted. She was very nice and had done my sister's hair to her liking. My reason for the review is to let you know that if you have an issue at one of this franchise owners stores, he will do nothing about it and won't even address the issue. Further his regional manager Stacey acted rude and unprofessional when she and I interacted. Her behavior and the owners behavior lost them 2 customers. read more

While I waited, Debra finished up with a parent and youngster who were not quite satisfied, despite Debra's professionalism and her continued communication with them. Very poor results, I asked for layers and I was given them...just at different lengths for both sides. I said to only trim off one inch, the stylist definitely cut at least 3 inches but couldn't even make each layer even? The photo I attached shows one layer ending on my shoulder, the other passed and the third one the longest uneven. The stylist didn't even spray my hair to make it wet, just a dry cut without any warm towel. I didn't ask for shampoo but normally my hair is sprayed with a water bottle at least? The stylist was very clearly in a rush and I get it, I went in at 6pm but if they didn't want that appointment don't take it? When asked what I did for work I told them I work at a middle school that helps kids avoid suspension/ expulsion from the district and they laughed and stated 'the bad kids huh'. I take great pride in my students and tried redirecting the conversation by stating 'no they made poor decisions but we're here to help' and the stylist simply laughed and mentioned something about physical harm??? I scheduled an appointment online with the 1st available stylist since all I wanted was a simple trim, straight across. Went in with already washed and brushed hair, just the cut was needed. Took about 5 minutes. Didn't even think it could be screwed up since I just went in for a trim. Nope! Bottom of my hair is longer & looks like I have weird layers. I was so disappointed, especially after I specifically told the stylist of a similar problem with another stylist! How difficult is it to have a simple cut??? Natasha was amazing . From the minute that I walked in she had a huge smile on her face . She didn't seem annoyed or irritated that I did not have an appointment . She was super friendly and not fake at all . She did exactly what I asked her to do but also recommend how much we should chop , how I take care of my hair , pillow cases I should use , how I should the style of my pony tail, and was super calm and collect even though the salon quickly and I mean quickly filled up with other clients . This is the only place I will get my hair cut. I'm very simple and just get a shampoo and trim (once and a while a style if I have somewhere to go). I've never been high maintenance with my hair and refuse to pay $50 at a fancy salon for a trim. I always request Ariel or Sherri (sp?) because I know they will cut how I like it. I have been many places where I tell them I want to keep my length and they cut way more off because "the ends were so bad." I have never had that problem with these lovely ladies. They are always super sweet and professional. They have great customer service and I always leave feeling good about my hair cut. Yes, wait times can be long, even with an appointment. But, they are busy! And are always working with someone, which is good business. I don't mind the wait. This past visit I was pleasantly surprised to see the place had been remodeled and looked more clean/modern. I love it! read more

First, you have to take this place at face value: their business model is to get through as many hair cuts as possible in the shortest amount of time. That being said, I got what I paid for: a cheap haircut in record time. I was disappointed that when I asked the woman to do a blow dry and style, she declined (I thought the extra charge and possible tip would entice her). Overall, she was nice and personable. And fast. And my haircut wasn't bad. Bottom line: If you are looking for a true salon experience with the extra care, time, and attention, go to a real salon. First time at this location, and last. I have been getting blow outs at Super Cuts for about a year now. First time at this location and I'm very unhappy, and might even call and speak to a manager. Not only did it take 30 minutes to get me in the chair after I had a scheduled appointment, the entire visit was insulting. My hairstylist whom I won't name, wasn't friendly at all. I usually spend the entire time in the chair chatting it up. Dead silence until she wanted to point out I needed a color and cut, which is ironic cause I just got my hair colored this week, and cut about a month ago, whatever. Like I said, I've been doing this about a a year, every time I get charged $20 for a simple blow out. I always wash my hair ahead of time to make it easier. She quoted me $45. I was already in the chair and 30 minutes behind schedule so I said okay. The next 45 minutes were the most painful pulling on my hair, even ripping it out. I wish I could say it was worth it. This is by far the worst "blow out" I have ever seen. And when I was charged double the normal price, I expect a lot. I could have just straightened my damn hair if I wanted it to look like this. Will never return and am really considering calling the manager. read more

Don't go here EVER, if you are picky at all about straight lines and symmetry!! If I could give zero stars I would! I knew in my gut before going that I'm probably too picky for the "fast food type service", places like this can tend to give- you may have a good experience with one stylist, but a horrible one with another- it's just not worth the Russian roulette! I would file this last experience as horrible! I had to ask my lady 2 times to make the line on my neck straight because she didn't seem to notice that it was most certainly NOT straight! When I asked her to straighten it, she asked- "oh, you don't want it whispy?" No, I want it STRAIGHT! And yet I still walked out of there with a messed up line in back! I asked her not to touch the front length and yet she still grabbed it and trimmed it- I paid 18 & gave a 2$ tip- I guess I'll have to go back to my 50$ haircuts at the salon I loved before, to be confident that I won't walk away disappointed! read more

I have only been to this location twice and have been very disappointed in the quality of haircuts both times. This last time, I was supposed to get a free haircut on my card, but they charged me $20 extra in addition to the cost of the haircut for shampoo/blow dry/style, which I thought was included with the haircut (I have never been charged separately for all those things before), and which the lady pressured me into anyway. And the sign up front specifically said shampoos should only have been no more than $3 more and blow dry/style "$5 & up." When I questioned the price, they told me this would fall into the "& up" category because it's based on the length of your hair. What? They said all this with a straight face as they were looking at my short hair, which is about ear length, shorter than shoulder length. So of course the length rationale made no sense. I still tipped generously, which I really regret, because Alma gave me a really greasy unattractive style, and totally ignored what I had said about my bangs. Not to mention that to make conversation, she asked me how old my baby was. What? I've never had any babies. She said she must have been thinking of the last customer. Okay. I've been going to Supercuts off and on for 26 years now, and this was the first time I had ever been charged that much. I'm never going back! Time to go back to paying for a real haircut. read more

I am appalled at how my experience went at this salon. The woman who cut my hair not only barely spoke to me the entire time, but she failed to tell me that she was uncomfortable doing bangs until she already started cutting my hair. At this point, she had to ASK ANOTHER STYLIST to do or for her. The best part, is that the cost of the haircut was not disclosed to me until after my hair was dry. And I emphasize DRY because her definition of a "blow out" that I ended up paying for, left me a frizzy mess. There is nothing worse than being a woman dissatisfied with her haircut, but to feel like you were taken advantage of on top of that just plains hurts. Fuck this place, don't waste your time and money unless you want to feel like a depressed mess afterwards. Never coming here or to any other chain locations again. Lesson was learned hard. read more

I booked an appointment with them yesterday for my son. They proceeded to ask how old my son was and I told her he is 15 months old. They booked the appointment and all was well. When we got there we all has masks on and my son, being he was only 1 did not wear a mask. They said they then said they are refusing us service because my one year old was not wearing a mask. I told them per CA state law and CDC guidelines 2 years and younger are not to wear masks. Not only is it impossible for one year olds to keep a mask on but it is dangerous for them to do so, which is why the CDC says no to masks 2 yrs and younger. They still said they wouldn't cut my son's hair without a mask. 3 months prior when we took my son for his first haircut, this was not an issue. They didn't say anything about him not wearing a mask. I asked them when this started and they said it's been since "always" then proceeded to tell me they just had a meeting about it. We arrived at 8:55 knowing they open at 9:00. We waited outside with three other customers and two employees. They didn't know where the manager was. She finally came round 9:30 (claiming she overslept and then had to take her child to school) and it was complete chaos. We were told it would be about thirty minutes since there were a couple of people prior to us, but then people would arrive whom were clearly regulars and because (her excuse was) their cut was "quick" so the manager took them before us.
