I wanted to get my hair cut today because it was time and I have limited time to take care of my really long hair that was past the middle of my back. I checked in online at the Great Clips Online Check In website at 5 :00 p. m. today. This online check in process was so easy then I drove my car over to the Great Clips Salon and I arrived at this salon at 5:30 p.m. I walked into the Great Clips Salon and Renee this hairstylist was working at the cash register . Renee asked me did I I check in online? I said yes I did. Renee asked for my cell phone number and she asked for my first name Frances. Then Renee typed in my first name. Then my information came up on her computer. Renee told me my haircut is $23.00 with no shampoo. I gave Renee a $3.00 tip in cash. But I paid for my haircut with my visa credit card today. My total cost is $26.00 for Renee's Tip and my Haircut. Renee did a great job on cutting my hair and also on layering both of my bangs. This shorter haircut makes me look more attractive. I love it! I received excellent customer service from Renee today. Renee told me she opened up this Great Clips location 23 years ago. Great Clips has been in business for 23 years now. I have been to this salon several times. I've had a couple of decent haircuts and one really good haircut here. My haircut last week is an absolute disaster. I presented the stylist with a photo showing exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately it looks nothing like what I wanted. It is extremely short. Much shorter than the photo I showed her. So short in fact that I can't even have it corrected without losing what little hair I have left. Since she had me hold my head down throughout the cut and I didn't have my glasses on I couldn't really see how short she was cutting it. I'm not a pretty woman and now I have the worst hair cut of my life which makes me look even worse. I don't even want to go out in public. Brenda, who I've always praised for her ability to perform a full razor cut and being un afraid to think outside the box, was thankfully here today! She didn't disappoint, as always doing a great job of bringing my original haircut that I get compliments for all the time, vision to life! I get compliments on my haircut all the time, and I tell everyone you don't have to spend a ton of money in order to get a great haircut. The online app check in feature has been acting up on my phone for a while, but many people who check in don't show, so don't let that dissuade you from coming. The price is great, and even without the usual promo discount card, the cut cost $9.99 (which is supplemental to the tips it lets me give)! I stock up every time those cards are available, and it makes my haircuts even more affordable. The staff are courteous and professional...and they offer a guarantee that means if you don't like it, they will fix it for free...just come back! They're way cool about that too! I've been saying this forever...I'll take this over an overpriced, fancy salon any day... better experience, same quality haircuts, no long wait times, and completely affordable. They also don't try to push you to buy their salon hair products like most other places do, which I fully appreciate. I don't like pressure sales, but if I DO ask for a recommendation for a product they carry, they're always spot on and get me the perfect product every time to suit my needs. Been to the location a few times asked for the same thing no problem. I told the lady I don't want more than an inch cut off. I'm trying to keep my length. She said no problem. We don't even need to cut an inch off. I said cool and when I left the salon, I realize she cut 4 inches off my hair was almost to my butt and now it's Barely passed my chest.. my hair looks fine, but I wanted to keep my length and that something she didn't consider apparently. I usually go to salons to get my haircut because my hair has special needs. My time was running out and the weekend was arriving, I needed to get a haircut at 8pm but everywhere else is closed. I decided to roll the dice and call in. Renee answered and told me she didn't know what a 2 Block haircut was but said she'll do her best. As I arrived and I was greeted and we began. I told her what I needed and showed her and she got to work. She did an amazing job and I was really surprised. I usually pay $45 + tip for my haircuts but today it was only $16 for a well done job. I brought my son to get his hair cut here on Thursday and the woman who cut his hair was rude from the moment we walked in, and it only got worse. I never got her name, but she has a tattoo above an eyebrow and dyed blonde hair. She was so rude to and toward my son who is five years old. My boy is very talkative, curious, and smart. She mentioned she has six kids and I figured she would be better working with kids, but she was NOT! She challenged every single thing my child said. She said she's never met anyone that talked that much and stated she'd need some tequila ice cream after his appointment when I mentioned we were getting ice cream after the haircut and said they had weird flavors, including tequila. I am 7 months pregnant with another boy and she said she hoped my unborn child is calmer and quiet and zen. I couldn't stand her comments or her overall interaction with my child. I've been going there for myself, and son for over a year and a half and definitely won't be going back. She should be fired! My boyfriend got a haircut the day before and she was there cutting another mans hair and I didn't like her energy then. I should've stuck with my gut and left before the cut even started. Whatever her name is, I hope she gets a better attitude in life because she works with the public and people have all different types of personalities. I'm not sorry my son is bright and talkative. I believe the worst comment she made was what a hard time his kindergarten teacher probably has. Screw you grumpy old lady! They don't really know how to cut hair. At least the person who cut mine. She was also pretty rude and awkward, it was silent the whole time, the only thing she said was that my hair 'needed it'. I only asked for layers and a cut but it just looks like I cut it myself and is super uneven, I did not get what I asked for but you can't go back from that. I brought my daughter in for a trim and subtle layers at the ends but the woman that cut her hair Tuy misunderstood and cut her hair too much and did choppy blunt and uneven layers that were too short. When I pointed this out to her, she said that she can cut more at the bottom to make it look more even. If she did this, she would have taken out so much ( about 3-4 inches) from the overall length. However, she cut over a foot off. It is shorter than I wanted. She also said I had too many knots in my hair and seemed reluctant to have me donate it at all. She did not really listen to me and my haircut is not what I wanted. They seemed a bit rushed and crowded. Last time I went I had the opposite problem. My husband goes here every week to get his hair cut for work. He seems to like most of the people that cut hair there & is only upset when he ends up getting one or two of the people there. I went with him last week to get my hair cut - bangs & a trim - & was very unhappy. The girl who was helping me (who was one of the girls that he does not like to have cut his hair) butchered my bangs. It took her literally a minute to do my bangs (which I didn't have before) and she just cut them straight across. She asked me if I liked them & I asked her to cut them shorter (I prefer them to be at my eye brows so that they're not in my eyes)....when she finished, she didn't check to make sure that all of the hair that should be my bangs were cut, make sure that everything ended up straight & the same length, none of that. I've been to cheap places to get my hair cut & I've had great experiences. I'm not saying that this place sucks as a whole, just saying that I hope you don't get the woman that I had (sorry, I don't remember her name!)...especially if you're getting bangs.
