Great staff in Nipomo location, but it's a real shame they don't participate in the monthly Moxie haircut program... I live in North Santa María and unfortunately I have to commute to the far off Lompoc Supercuts location that does honor the Moxie haircut program. If you are a woman needing a haircut, make sure you have a NAME of the cut you want, because these people can only cut your hair if they know the specific style. A wedge, a taper, a bob... I had TWO stylists in one appointment. The first one had only been cutting hair for 6 months and had NO idea what to do, so she passed me along to another woman... who also didn't know what to do. I wanted my hair cut SHORT, and I kept telling them that, but I swear they would have cut it longer if they could have. I told them over and over how I wanted my hair to look, and they asked me how to do it!? No ideas, no suggestions, no professional creativity, just "So you want a wedge cut? So you want a taper?" I finally gave up and said it wa fine, because I was tired of trying to explain myself. I have never hated a haircut so much. Thankfully, I have a neighbor who is a stylist, so I'll have her fix it for me. read more

I was pleasantly surprised. I was a walk-in and still was in the chair in less than 20 minutes on a Thursday afternoon at 2:15pm. I'm not that particular about cuts now that I'm retired, but my wife said it is one of my better cuts in a long time. Shop was clean and though a typical Supercuts, was in great shape. Again, I can't think of anything to complain about, so they get a high rating. I'll go back there because it's convenient and everyone was polite. read more

I just wanted a simple updo style- something to get my hair off my neck in the heat, but also dressy enough for a cocktail hour to which we were invited later in the evening! Yesenia took me right away- listened to my gibberish about what I needed and immediately went to work. In under 30 minutes- I walked out with exactly what I had pictured but couldn't even communicate! Hit the nail on the head girl! Linda was very knowledgeable on the type of haircut I wanted. I usually go to military barbers, and cut my hair how I want it. Most civilian barbers think that a military haircut is like the ones you get in basic training. I will definitely be returning a requesting Linda. read more

I was a Sunday walk in and Kelsey did a fabulous job. Didn't take off too much and listened to what i asked for. Very affordable and great when they can take walk ins, because as we know, making appts 3 weeks in advance doesn't always work out for everyone. My previous haircut was at a Pismo hype salon that was double the price and had a kardashian style of clientele. OMG! SuperCuts has a comfortable and clean environment and everyone was nice. I walk in during the week and have to wait for people who have called in ahead. I understand so I come back another day and have a little less wait, still getting bumped for the call-aheads. It's Saturday and I have to take my kids, so I think to check-in online. It sets a 10:30 window and gives the disclaimer that the time isn't guaranteed to be exact. I understand that, but when we arrive early, wait the whole time, and still have to wait until nearly 11:00 before we get my first kid in the chair, that's ridiculous. Either make a more accurate window, get more staff, or don't bother giving a time at all. My weekend time is all I have to get several things accomplished around the house and I don't need to waste the time sitting in a barber shop. I have been a customer here for 4 years. The service has been getting slower to the chair and sloppier with the cuts lately. I'm not giving them too many more chances to get their act together. Alexis is the only reason I'm even giving them another chance. I added a third star because the manager sincerely apologized and gave a discount without asking. I still think they need to change or better manage the online scheduling system. read more

I have been going to see Mindy here since not long after Supercuts opened here in NIPOMO and use Mindy Every time I need a cut or trim. Mindy helped me to keep my longer hair healthy with the trims and when I decided to go shorter this year I have not been happier!! Mindy has and is my go to for all my hair care needs! Had the worst experience today. Called in the a.m. to see if Jenny was working she answered the phone so I made an appointment for my husband for 3:00 that afternoon. Got to supercuts just before 3 and Jenny was working on a perm, that was just the beginning. Called back in time allotted and the girl answered she's just about done. After waiting around for at least an hour, my husband then went in when we saw from our car parked just outside window, he approached the counter just for her to say your a second too late and sat another client in the chair. So beware appointments don't mean a thing at ths place. She needs to desperately work on her customer service skills, we will never go back to this place.... Horrible customer service. read more

5 star service!! Great prices. The stylists are awesome! In the front seating area they have some great hair style books to thumb through. I wear my hair short and after talking with Cassie about the ways I like to style my hair and thumbing through the book of different cuts Cassie gave me a cut I can work into many styles! I love it.. I normally don't get to the point where I have to write a negative review. This is an exception. I went in for a haircut. The hairdresser I got was Mindy. She seemed bothered that she had to do my hair & that she had bookwork to do & she wanted to get off early. (I had to hear this repeatedly throughout my haircut). The other stylists were busy with other customers (unfortunately for me. Their customers looked happy). :( Off the bat, I could tell she was not "all there". Her red hair had a rats nest in the back like she just got out of bed. Her haircutting area was filthy. Still had a wet towel & hair from whoever got a cut before me. She talked more than she cut my hair. It took FOREVER to get done, almost 50 minutes! Just a cut, not even a shampoo! She asked me why I wasn't talking a lot. I told her I was tired (just to get her to stop talking about herself). Then she began asking me if I had manic depression, adhd, or mental Heath issues?! (There were other people in the salon that I thought could hear. I wanted to hide!) THEN she suddenly became a doctor and was telling me the perscription drugs and amounts I should take. She also told me the Long list of meds she was on & how norcos were great. Then she pulled out a razor & I ended up with the worst haircut I have EVER gotten in my life! My hair is uneven & a shaggy mess. It will take me forever to grow it out. I will never EVER go back to this Supercuts. Anyone who hires someone like this does not care about the happiness let alone safety of their customers :( read more

I haven't been to a Supercuts in decades. But I didn't like the last few haircuts I got at Fantastic Sams. But I also don't have a lot of money to spend on haircuts. So based on the reviews (except the really bad one) I saw here on Yelp, I gave the Nipomo Supercuts a shot. The salon was really clean and the two women there were really friendly. Alexis cut my hair exactly as I asked her to. I was really happy with the results. I still don't like that the shampooing and styling all cost separately. But I am going to keep going there. read more
