I feel super confident writing a 5 star review because it's based on three different visits. Jesse colored my ends to match my roots a week before my wedding, I did the bridal hair trial with him, and I hired him as my wedding-day hairstylist for myself and my family. I'm a sucker for good customer service, and I was beyond happy with how friendly him and his staff were during my first visit. I like how my hair turned out every time, and I liked that he's so open to explain the process as he's working on my hair. He was also great at answering questions about my hair, and offering suggestions. He's an overall down-to-earth and talented person, that's easy to converse with as well! I think it's pretty neat where the salon is located, on the second floor of the building, because it has a nice view from inside. Blue Hair Studio is my favorite hair salon to go to in all of slo county. It's so easy to book appointments with their online booking system, there's no need to call to make an appointment which I love. The staff is phenomenal, they do a great job and set a great atmosphere. Danny is my go to girl she always does such great work. Im responding to my original post back in May and didn't get a response until over 2 months later. At the time of the cancellation of my appointment, it was very unprofessional as it was just a text message without a call like the first time which was a week prior. I didn't appreciate the text saying "here is couple of other people to call and make a last minute appointment". I figured Danny didn't have another sitter for her kids again and used Covid as an excuse which is the common one everyone uses nowadays. When I hear covid, there should be a test to prove it otherwise its just an excuse to not want to work & do their job. I never got a true apology from her from the 2 weeks of cancellations & she just left me hanging and very very stressed out to make appointments at the very last minute. I don't forget things but all i can say Danny really left a very bad taste in my mouth to ever make an appointment with this salon in general again. read more

This is an out-of-the-way salon, located upstairs in a medical/dental building.This can be a good thing because you are not paying for a salon's high overhead. It's very unlikely you'll ever have any trouble parking, and just because it's out of the way doesn't mean it's hard to find, at all. This salon is sparkling clean and simple. I was welcomed with a smile as soon as I walked in, and offered a beverage. The waiting area could be a bit more comfortable; I'd prefer 3-4 easy chairs in the corner, instead of a table in the middle of the shop; it felt a little awkward. I heard about the shop from a friend and wanted to find a salon closer to home than SLO. I made an appt with Angie on a Saturday morning. The shop was busy; everybody was working.
