I tried to give this salon another try and once again disappointed. From the moment I walked in I could tell I was "bothering" a stylist by being there. I tried to continue with kindness and see if I could get them to be a little more personable. I asked if a hair wash was included in the kids cut and I was told "for $12 more". I wanted my daughter to have the pampered experience so I agreed. When we got to the hair cut my daughters hair was combed back and her was cut pretty quickly. All from the back. Then her hair was partially dried using the stylist's fingers... not a brush or comb. When I was asked if the length was ok and I said yes... she took the drape off. That was it..... her hair was not brushed nor fully dry. We proceeded to the checkout. Pretty disappointed in customer service and quality of service. I will not return. read more

SportClips Poor management had made it too difficult to visit my favorite stylist ... Now for the good part... One of my favorite sports clips stylist "OLGA" suddenly was no longer working at sports clips? Of course no one would share with me where she went ... James was great. But, he couldn't find a large round brush to use on me. He looked three times and asked several times but the manager didn't even help. After he tried for a half an hour to dry my hair the manager finely unwrapped a new one. The shop was full of hair, even in the waiting room. If it weren't for James I wouldn't go back. This review is posted on behalf of my best friend, a resident of Santa Maria and now former regular at this Great Clips location. After making an appointment and checking in online my best friend headed over to this Great Clips location a few blocks from his house. Upon arrival all of the stylists are busy and he receives no greeting. No one comes to the counter to check him in despite clearly being noticed. A few minutes later a walk-in comes in and a stylist frees up and takes the walk-in instead. Another guy walks in and is greeted and checked in. By this time my friend is understandably irritated. My friend is not the kind of customer to make a scene in public as I would in this situation. He also sends me a picture of an absolutely disgusting entryway carpet. I understand cut hair just a part of a salon business but please make an effort to keep things clean THROUGHOUT the work day! Eventually my friend is acknowledged and put on the list after the second walk-in customer. After about a 45-50 minute wait my friend has his hair cut, which goes as well as it normally does, and leaves. Sad to say due to a lack of quality customer service you've lost a loyal customer! read more

Horrible customer service! My mother and I took my great grandma to get her hair cut. The told us it would be maybe an hour so we checked her in and waited. Well a online check in missed their time but showed up super late but since they knew the stylist they took them anyways. So my poor grandma sat there for over and hour and had to leave with no hair cut. The manager was no where to be seen and was not phased at all. I thought getting a quick and decent priced haircut here would be a breeze but turned out not to be. Online check in was pointless. Looked online and saw it would be an hour wait. Put mine and my sister's name down and came an hour later. The girl at the front still told us it would be 45 minutes. We sat there and waited for over an hour and still were persons 4 and 5 on the waitlist. Even if you put your name on the waitlist and aren't there, they keep you on the list. People who weren't there while we were waiting came in and were taken just cause there names were left on the board. Would give zero stars if I could. Never going back there again. read more

So I have been coming here for a while and I have come out looking awesome every time, thanks to the beautiful and skilled girls here ;) The manager is a personal favorite of mine and she keeps me laughing! Haircuts were fine but wouldn't cut my daughter's hair citing nits. I did a headcheck on the spot (13 years in a school health office so I know what I'm looking for), asked for clarification on what she saw... Tried to explain dandruff v nits (she argued with me). Took daughter home, did a full lice comb thru... Nothing. Called to let them know, that girl needs some further education on nits. In the meantime, she unnecessarily embarrassed a kid who had NOTHING. I get if you're squeamish you might misidentify in your paranoia, but when someone with experience is trying to explain what you think you saw, and figure out if you DID see something (trust me, I'd wanna know!), don't be a snot and shut them down. read more

I can tell for myself that I am very picky when it comes to hair style. I had very bad previous experience with other salons.. Great clips was recommended from a coworker since she showed up at work with great hair style. Today I went to Great clips and was literally shaking like I am at the dentist office, lol.. The staff was very pleasant, waiting time was not that long, walk ins are available and came out with great hair!!! And also, cutting is $15 I had coupon which I used and paid $10 + tips. So I just got back from this place about an hour ago and I've got to say, I'm not all that satisfied. The lady who cut my hair (I didn't catch her name) was nice and we had a good conversation going while she was cutting my hair. I looked in the mirror after she was done and I thought it looked fine. When I got home, I got a better look and I saw that my layers were uneven. I asked her for v-shaped layers and it was more like a really wide v-layered cut. She didn't even touch or cut my front layers on both sides so they're uneven from all the rest that are cut. It doesn't look that bad from far away, but up close you can tell it's not that great either. Maybe I got what I paid for because I did have a coupon for an $8.99 haircut. Sigh, never again am I falling for that. Once I grow out my hair in a couple of months, I'll be going to my usual hairstylist... all the way in the Bay Area. At least I know my hair will be treated with precision and care up there and not like this place. read more

I was looking to trim my hair because I had been growing it out for six months, and showing progress. I had read good reviews about the place so I decided to try it out. I was nonetheless very disappointed and I left feeling very angry, as well as very sad. The employee who cut it took none of my directions and instead decided to do what she preferred. I was a bit skeptical about her from the moment I sat due as she seemed very unsure and unskilled. What should have been a 20 minute "trim" became a one hour trainwreck which left me looking like one of the Beatles (not as pleasant as one may expect).She removed so much of my hair that I ended up having less hair than I did 6 months ago. In the end I was charged $37 in total, $16 for the haircut, and $21 for straightening the two strands of hair I was left with. I did receive a partial refund, but I must still pay with this ridiculous look. I am undoubtedly very angry as I was growing my hair out for a show I am preparing for. I hope they look into training their employees a little better, as well as adjusting their prices based on hair lengths. read more

I needed to find a new place to get my hair cut and I wanted I try bangs so I decided to come here since it was pretty late and it was one of the only places opened. They have great prices and I like them a lot better than Super Cuts. When I first came here I had my hair cut by Yvonne. I loved her. She was so nice and always seemed so happy to see me. I came back in after that and she would remember things I told her before. I went in before picture day and got my hair cut and styled in space buns (tow little buns on the top sides of your head) and I loved it. She did a very good job cutting bangs. The next time I went in she was wearing space buns and it made me really happy. Unfortunately she no longer works there but now I see Ruby and she also gives off a very friendly vibe and it feels like she cares. She does a great job cutting my hair so I try to come in when she's working. She's fun and has a lot of talent and personality. When she wasn't there I had Amanda cut my hair. I liked her but I only met her once so it's hard to review her. She did a very good job cutting my hair though. My bangs turned out very nice. I suggest checking in online before you go in because it makes everything easier for you and even lets you know the wait time. And if you go there more than once you can use your phone number to have an "account" so they can just pull up the way you do your hair and all the notes and stuff that they have for you. read more
