    I made an appointment and they kept me waiting for 30 mins before calling. Not at all customer focused. WILL NOT RETURN AGAIN.

At scheduling time, the receptionist was very nice and worked with me to find a time that fits schedules well. I was scheduled with Michaela for a Halo face framing type situation and was greeted very kindly by her and everyone else at the front desk. They offer you water and other beverages there as you arrive. There is also local crafted jewelry in the sitting area to browse. Getting back to hair, Michaela was very personable, funny, nice, and professional. The experience was nice and it feels like you're just chatting with an old friend. Honestly I probably chat too much but the story of my life LOL. They take you back to the hair washing area which is quiet and Serene, ready for relaxation. They also offer you and I mask type essential oil situation where you can pick different scents. After your hair is done washing you get processed and then you go back to your sitting area. It took a little bit to get my hair to the desired look but Michaela and the salon made it very easy to work with and get the results we were hoping for. I appreciate them for being so accommodating and ease of everything. Michaela is a great stylist and I would recommend booking with her anytime! Not only will she make your hair look better but just speaking with her makes your day better too.

    This hair salon charged me $350 for a "no-show" appointment that I canceled almost a month in…read moreadvance. When I called to ask them about it, they refused to refund the money or provide the original service the $350 was charged for. Also the charge is listed as a recurring payment on my bank account so they have access to recharge my card repeatedly and feel they don't have to answer to it. The owner (Zachary H.) was absolutely horrible when asked about working with us to resolve the issue. There is nothing in their policy that states no-refunds or partial credits, in fact, it states they will do everything they can to ensure you leave happy! That's actually crazy. If they wanted to ensure their customers were happy they could simply provide the service that was already canceled a month ago, paid for anyway (against my will), and still refused by the salon. They could have made it right in any way but they simply refused. These people don't care about their customers. Beware!! Go somewhere else and guard your card information!!!!! EDIT: Hi zachary. Just wanted to let you know, your reply on my review very much shows just how much of the run around you gave me. No business in their right minds puts pocketing $350 over the satisfaction of their customers. Tell me why Roots Salon and Wellness in Cary NC chooses to do so? Is arguing with your customers the best way to handle customer service? I was just wondering. Also, you haven't shown ME proof of anything. I want to see proof that I didn't call and cancel the appoitment, because it is simple to pull call logs from my end. Is it from yours? also, I was not provided a copy of this signed document. I would like one. I would like to know the best way to pick that up since we aren't exactly "welcome" at your salon. Next, there is no clause that I am aware of (I don't have a copy because I wasn't provided one) that states if partial credits, deposits towards future appointments or no refunds will be made. Understand that in small claims court, that will be pointed out. You denied me the service after the fact. Not just a refund, but the service itself. Dont forget that point. Another Edit: "We are very understanding and lenient because we know that life happens and things come up" seems very untrue considering the great lengths you're willing to go to to keep my money now. Just saying.... One more edit ... I wanted to point out that the Brazilian blow out was a service sold to me while sitting in your salon chair. It was an UPSELL that was pitched to me while I had a stylist doing my hair. It wasn't something I asked for, it was recommended and promoted by your team as I was getting my original service done. the price of the service was never told to me. I did not sign a separate document regarding the blowout. Only the original document for the highlights. No price was ever shown to me but the website specifically lists "$250-$350" as the price RANGE for the service provided. When I called and asked the salon why I was charged the upper end of this range automatically, they said that the Brazilian blowout is $350 and the other smoothing services are the ones that are $250. That's not what is listed on the webpage. Only the price range. This price was not communicated to me prior to signing up for this service that I had no prior knowledge about and that was "sold" to me while in the salon.

When I called to select a new stylist, they explained all about their salon, and the levels and pricing and worked to match me with a stylist. Jessica was fantastic, really listening to me, and giving me exactly what I asked for with my short haircut. It was the best shampoo of my life, with fragrance free shampoo, and the best, most thorough haircut, where she shaped and cleaned up a recent haircut.     I was going to this salon for a simple haircut, with the same stylist for over 11 years. When they…read morewere allowed to open after the Covid pandemic, they forced everyone to wear masks during their haircuts. I struggle with masks as I have asthma and I feel like I am suffocating while wearing one. I asked my stylist why we had to wear masks when just about every other business was wide open and mask-free. I was told "to make our customers FEEL safe." Personally, I found the mask wearing extremely uncomfortable. That being said, I typically would joke around my stylist but the mask wearing made me more of a quiet person. She asked me if all was ok, to which I replied yes...All is cool, but the mask made me feel like I was suffocating. After about the 6th haircut since reopening. I was told by the stylist (who is also general manager) not to worry about paying and took me outside to discuss how she felt uncomfortable that I was less talkative and what we're going to do about it. I sternly told her to just cancel all my future appointments (I was scheduled for every three weeks for years down the road). I was so pissed that now I needed to worry about her feelings, when she needed to simply cut my hair....That's it. So, this is how I was treated when she had cut my hair for so long. Believe me, she is obviously a liberal mind set and here she was telling me how to act to make her comfortable with me. The whole place is a liberal bastion...The owner is also very liberal. This business is a liberal shit hole. And on top of that, my stylist was not very good and very inconsistent....Often I would ask her to fix something that was wrong with my cut and it was very expensive for a men's haircut. I would not recommend this place, at all, to anyone. I now get my hair cut at a Great Clips down the road from my house for half the price and the lady that I always get is very good and very consistent. I can't believe I spent so much time and money getting my haircuts at Twisted Scissors.
