Whoa boy oh boy did I need a haircut! I have come here on many occasions, always been given the standard level of attention and care but Laura smiled from the moment she sat me down. She asked me exactly what I wanted and took into consideration that I am picky client. Sorry Laura:)! The few times I have been here for a haircut have all been good experiences. Usually I will wait for around 10-15 mins, but don't mind since I haven't made a reservation. Finding a place to park on Alvarado St. is difficult, so usually I park a ways away and walk. The price is right compared to other hair cut places in the area. read more

I should have known better. I learned from other stylists that they are allowed 15 minutes to cut your hair. It was uneven length on the sides, and the stylist who fixed it at another salon said it was bad all over. My hair is short, straight. What they did at SuperCuts was actually laughable. A big thank you to Celeste! While traveling in Monterey I noticed that I was looking a little scruffy. I made an appointment to see Celeste for a haircut and beard trim. My stylist back home in North Carolina is normally the only person I allow to get near my noggin with pruning shears but I have to say that Celeste did a great job! I walked in and was told that there would be a 10 to 15 minute wait. That was 45 minutes ago. Another customer, who was not happy with her haircut from a day ago, walked in 15 minutes after I did. She didn't have an appointment, but managed to wheedle her way in front of everyone else who was in line. There were, at one point, 3 employees NOT cutting hair while customers waited. I've come in here for a cut and color and the stylists I've seen are amazing and super understanding than most hair salons I've been to. The prices are a lot cheaper than other beauty salons I've been to. Dulce did a color on me and she did amazing and she's super friendly and has excellent customer service skills and is very accommodating with my needs and how I want my hair. I came in for a trim as well one time and the other gal I saw she was also friendly and accommodating and did a good job with my hair. I'm definetly coming back to dulce or Celeste since I heard Celeste is good too so if I decide to do my hair at Supercuts on Alvarado st Celeste and dulce are your girls to see. I asked to part my hair at the side as usual, and then have a standard layered trim. The hairstylist insisted on parting my hair in the center... and then cut my hair straight across. (Why?!?!) She told me I could part it on the side later and it'd look the same. (Results: she was wrong.) I will NEVER return here. I agree, they clearly do not know how to cut hair here. She made eye contact and while we didn't chit-chat about anything deep I got the feeling that she was interacting with me and not repeating some banal conversation. Do NOT get your hair cut by the hairdresser named Olga if you have long hair. I had waist length hair and wanted only 4 inches off the ends. Olga told me that she had been at Supercuts for 4 years so I trusted that she had some experience with gauging 4 inches. I also trusted that she was sensitive to people not wanting TOO much taken off the ends which any hairdresser with some experience should know. I was VERY wrong on both assumptions. She easily chopped off 7 inches from my hair and by the time I realized it, it was too late and I was frozen in shock! She also kept repeating near the end of the cut that only 4 inches was taken off with a slight smirk on her face. Avoid her at all costs if you are a woman with long hair! read more

My husband and son have gone here more than a few times since we moved here and everything has been fine. My daughter twice, again everything fine. I've had my hair cut twice. Nothing crazy just a trim and I have long layers in my hair. Penny cut my hair last time and maybe I didn't communicate what I wanted well but it wasn't what I wanted. I thought it might have just been the fresh cut that made it look blunt and slightly off. So I left it alone for about a week to see if it would soften up. No luck. So 9 days after I had it cut I had a chance to stop in after work. The manager said if they were going to fix it I would have to pay for a whole new hair cut. 50% maybe, but whole price just seems like bad service. I got a blowout here for $18.95. The price is good, the outcome is acceptable, but the lady who did it for me was very rough on my hair. she kept pulling on my hair really hard and held the hair dryer too close to my head. If I hadn't gotten my hair chopped to bits at boot camp, this would have been the worst haircut I've ever gotten by far. I was the woman's last customer on a Sunday evening, and she acted like it. The poor service was fine with me, as I didn't come in to have a conversation, but the cut was incredibly uneven, and despite my request to not be fitted to male military regs (I'm a woman), she cut the hair around my ears off and made my sideburns parallel to the deck. This is a business I wouldn't go back to, regardless of the price. However, it sounds like people have had good experiences with Brenda, so maybe she's a safe bet. read more

This was a terrible choice. I regret spending 20$ on it. I have long hair, like mid-back, wanted some layers so it doesn't look all stiff. She did not understand the concept of layers. She started cutting my hair without dividing it into smaller segments and pinning the top up, just like that, without no prep. That is not how you cut long hair..... She cut 2 inches from the end, and when I told her this is not layered, she cut another inch off of some parts. I gave up at this point. I paid for nothing. I gave one star cause she didn't ruin my bangs that I cut myself 2 weeks before. read more

I have been to this location several times, sometimes once a month. You would think I would have been treated a lot better than I was today. I was quoted a 10-15 minute wait, and there was only one guy in front of me. There were at least 6 girls working and I am well aware not all of them were free to cut my hair. Two of the girls finished up their haircuts, and started cleaning their station up....Mind you, at this time I had already been waiting 30 minutes....instead of calling my name to cut my hair next, they decided to wonder to the back to gossip with the rest of the staff. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here. There was no reason to make me wait 30 minutes! it is extremely rude and unprofessional to go to the back, stand around and gossip when you know there is someone who has been waiting 30 minutes,(15 minutes longer than my quoted wait time)!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, this is the second time I have had my hair cut here and they did a less than impressive job again. My husband likes to go here because it is cheap and his hair cut is very simple but after our experience today I don't think we will be going back again. When we first arrived and put our names on the waiting list they told us it would be a 25 minute wait. So we left and returned about 20 minutes later only to wait another 20 minutes for one of us to get called. After I went to get my haircut my husband waited another 20 minutes while they called other people before him who were after him on the list. After bumbling and making excuses about the situation, he was seated as they were finishing my haircut. The stylist I had was friendly enough, and soaked my hair completely before cutting. This would have been fine but he refused to blow dry it completely afterwards unless I pay the $47.95 it costs for a shampoo, cut and dry. Of course I didn't pay that and while apologizing he said he would do it but his manager is a b**** and would get him in trouble. Overall the experience left me very agitated and not satisfied with my hair, I would recommend that you look for a different salon and avoid this not so super Supercuts. read more

I WILL NEVER BE BACK!!! I went in today to get a simple hair cut. As she was combing through my previously hair sprayed and curled hair, I suggested that washing it may make it easier to do. However, she insisted that the water would do as she roughly combed through my hair. I let that go though. After she was finished trimming my hair she took off the plastic thing around my neck and headed for the cash register... I don't know if this is a CA thing (I'm from Michigan here with my husband who is in the military) but I do not think it is appropriate to leave a salon looking WORSE than when I came in. She didn't even style my hair. I was livid. So livid, I didn't even ask her to as she was walking to the register. And on top of that, my ends are still dry. She didn't cut enough off. I could have cut my hair better than her. I was in and out in less that 10 minutes. Not a very pleasing experience. Glad I paid for a horrible hair "cut". I will never be back!!! read more
