The lady that took my 5 yr old, older lady with reddish hair, had kicked out a man before us because they took two people ahead of him and she was upset that he called her out. She took the drape off his son and said I'm not going to do this. He had been waiting for nearly and hour with all three of his kids and she never apologized to him. Then my son was a little squeamish and she took the cape off and said "I'm not doing this, I'm not gonna deal with him possibly crying, and you shouldn't want me to continue." She kept going and I responded "I get it do you want me to pay or not?" She was so hyper focused on being rude and having the last word. I'm sure it can be difficult to cut kids hair but if you can't you shouldn't act like you can. Please don't go here. The professionalism is non existent. I ended up going to Great Clips at Del Monte and was so bummed we didn't go there first. The stylist said the lady as Supercuts went too short for a little kid and she probably had difficulty blending it. So now I'm thinking the lady kicked us out because she didn't know what she was doing and blamed it on my son. He was not moving more than you would expect a small child to move. Seeing the pictures on the website is truly funny! I honestly wish I had listened to everyone who told me not to go to Supercuts for anything beyond a basic trim. I asked for bangs, and the stylist, who was friendly at first, immediately started commenting on how bangs would "hide my big forehead" and "cover the wrinkles on my forehead." I'm still stunned that someone in a professional setting thought that was appropriate to say. It got worse. She kept pointing out how "fine" my hair was, which wasn't helpful. And she was so short she couldn't even see the top of my head while I was sitting, and I'm only 5'3". That alone should've been a red flag. Later, I found out she was probably a trainee, which explains the disaster, but no one bothered to warn me or offer someone experienced instead. Then came the actual cut. The bangs she gave me were so uneven, they looked like stairs. I've never seen anything like it. My anxiety was through the roof. Her supervisor eventually stepped in because it was that bad, and while she was kind, there was only so much she could do. The damage was done. They didn't make me pay, which I appreciate, but that doesn't fix the fact that my hair now has to grow out from a truly botched cut. I take responsibility for ignoring the warnings, but let me add mine to the list: if you care at all about your hair, do not go to Supercuts for anything more complicated than a trim. I had to wait day of to make an appointment for highlights at 10 in the morning for a 3pm appointment. Received a text at 2pm reminding me of the 3:05pm appointment. Showed up at 2:45pm. No one else in line. Three stylists working. They checked me in. Then waited 20 minutes to tell me that the stylist who was going to do the highlights called in sick that morning. And they couldn't take me because they were backed up with "regular customers." I was the only person sitting there. This was my birthday treat to myself and they ushered me out the door. You should have texted me as soon as you knew the stylist wasn't there, instead of reminding me I needed to be on time. Nope. Won't be going back here ever. I took the day off work for this. If you're a man, under 60, avoid this place. I got a bad haircut from a very nice lady, went back the next day to get it fixed, by another nice lady. Now, a day later, I'm going to another place entirely to pay for another fixer haircut. It's supercuts, so the stylists there are there, in general, because they have a low average skill level, I guess. Terrible place to go, in any case. read more

I signed in for a haircut and showed up for my appointment. There was a woman in front of me in line, who I happened to know. She wanted a wash and a blow out. Melissa did the wash, but told Janet that it would cost $40. Janet said she only had $30. She got up from the chair, paid $10 for the wash and left. Melissa was absolutely screaming at her, if you can't afford it, why are you here? Told her never to come back. This tirade went on for at least 5 minute, slaming things around. Continuing to bitch very loudly, going over to another stylist who had a patron and pitching at her. I was absolutely horrified. I ended up leaving without the haircut, and I will no longer be using Supercuts. I also plan on posting this awful, nerve-wracking experience on all of my social media. I can't say enough about April! She is the best hairstylist that has ever touched my hair. When I arrived I was warmly greeted with a smile and a warm personality, after she walked me to her cutting area we discussed all of my wants and what I don't like. I have been to many hairstylists who say they are listening but end up doing exactly the opposite of what I wanted, being that I have very long hair and wish to keep it that way. She gave me a great style without taking half of my hair off. If you want someone who will listen to you and actually do what you are asking for please do yourself a favor and see April. TL;DR Most humiliating haircut of my life, stylist almost pulled half my hair out, the online scheduling system offers appointment slots when the stylist isn't really available, NEVER AGAIN. I had an appointment scheduled with Vince, based on other people saying positive things about him, but a couple of hours before my appointment the salon called to say he was leaving earlier than my appointment time, and I'd have to come in an hour early to see him. I had never been there, so I wasn't necessarily super attached to seeing him specifically, and agreed to see whoever was available. The stylist I did see (whose name I don't remember) was HORRIBLE. She had no idea what she was doing, and was clearly in a bad mood and didn't want to deal with my hair. She got frustrated with my hair tangling when she combed it upward to cut it (which she herself acknowledged happens all the time, though for some reason no other stylist I've ever seen has tangled my hair so much), so she'd just painfully yank against the knots (practically pulling the hair out of my head, and making the knots worse instead of working them out properly), and when she got tired of dealing with the knot, would just CUT IT OUT OF MY HAIR. The result can be seen in the photos - instead of giving me the layered cut I asked for (shown in the pic that actually looks good, which is what I showed her before she did the cut), she just cut one big layer shorter than the longer part on the bottom, like a long hair equivalent of a bowl cut - the hair cut into two sections of exactly two different lengths. You can see in the pics what it looked like after her hack job. Plus my whole scalp felt like it was badly sunburned by the time I left as a result of all the brutal yanking at my roots - I'm sure she pulled quite a bit of my hair clean out of my head. She clearly despises her job. She didn't even let me look at the back, she just pushed all the strands forward onto my shoulders, muttered "purdy", and then walked over to the cash register at the front. I of course followed, because it would be fruitless to ask someone so incompetent to fix the mess she'd made, though in hindsight I should have refused to pay a penny for this nightmare, and instead should have demanded that THEY pay for me to have a real stylist fix it. I'm completely mortified. I'm starting a new job next week, and in addition to this horror show being the first impression I'll make on my new colleagues (who I've only met over Zoom so far), they're going to take my picture on the first day and publish it to their website, where it will stay for all the years I work there! I'm so humiliated. I tried to fix the cut myself (even though I have zero cosmetology training), and it does look a little better now, but still pretty horrific, and I had to lose a lot of the length I had wanted to keep (and spent soooo long growing out!) in order to curve out the abrupt gap between the length of the longer part and the shorter part of the hair. I tipped the stylist $5 because I tip everyone as a matter of principle, but I will NEVER set foot in this place again. Side note, I left basically this same review on a certain other website that also offers email and maps and so on, and within minutes after posting to the site, it had disappeared - clearly the owner is flagging negative reviews as spam in order to conceal the salon's horrible work from prospective customers. As she was on the phone another lady walked in and ask the stylist who I had an appointment with to wash her hair. This lady did not have an appointment and the stylist took her with out checking to see if she had anyone. So now they said I have to wait another hour for me to be seen. Such a JOKE. The shop is in downtown Monterey so parking can be tricky. Best to schedule online but they do walk ins, price a little high for a fifteen minute trim but definitely worth it. There was no wait and she was available on time. Brenda was very professional and fast. I showed her picture of what I wanted but I liked her hair style. I told her I wanted her hair cut. She asked if I wanted to keep my cut hair and I said no. At the end she placed a hot towel behind my neck which was heavily . My husband was waiting I the car for me. I dropped in here tonight just to see if I could get a quick haircut. The three stylists were sitting and chatting so I figured they were not busy. Evidently I was supposed to wait outside to be acknowledged and let in. I wasn't aware of that and I can be a little clueless. Usually I see Brenda here; she does a nice job and has been there for many years. But she was not working today so I asked if they could take a walk in. After some discussion, two of the three ladies were not willing to take me. But the lady in charge, (who has been there a while and has done a nice job on my hair in the past) said "no we have time, take him." Celeste did a good job cutting my hair. I had one huge problem. I had to listen to the taller, thin middle-aged lady with the light brown hair speak in a very loud voice about her hackneyed political views. These included how Joe Biden is a pedophile and discussing the Clintons being "killers." This was offensive and very poor business practice. I may go back to Supercuts, but this lady will never, ever cut my hair. Not appropriate for a public business, and one thing dad always taught us - never offend your customer. I'm not normally one to leave a review but this was a bad experience for me and others in the business. I scheduled a 2:10 appointment and arrived at 2. It looked like there were other appointments and walk-ins waiting. It gets to be 2:15 and only one person waiting had been helped. Then a lady walks in with a 2:15 appointment and was sat in a chair immediately (might've been friends with a hairstylist). So the 1:50 appointment that was waiting, me, and a couple of walk-ins left. This was horrible treatment of your customers. I know this can get backed up but you have to keep customers going in order. Nobody that treats people that way should be working in that industry. read more

Wow! I left completely surprised. I didn't know what to expect. I have searched high and low for SOMEONE who knows how to cut a Pixie the RIGHT way. I had the perfect one in San Jose but since I moved here, I have been to 5 different establishment ranging a $100 spread. No one, it seemed, knew how to cut a pixie though they claimed they did. So after leaving each place Id throw a hat BACK on, cry for a day or two and search for the next person to cut my hair like a man. (Sarcasm) You pixie girls know what I am talking about. So in I walk to this establishment with a great ambiance and two smiling helpful souls. Quick service, showed my photo to Sergio and sat with dread. HOWEVER...Sergio worked his magic and BOOM! Sister has a fabulous looking feminine Pixie cut. It is exactly what I wanted. I mean exactly. I absolutely love that they are open until 8 with my crazy life. I was extremely angry about that, especially when I'm told that by some dumb blonde like herself. Honestly the single worst haircut I've had in my entire life. I don't remember the guy's name but I showed him a picture of what I wanted it to look like and he completely disregarded it and shaved everything off. I'd been growing the top out to get an undercut but that's all gone.
