My hair color came out exactly how I wanted it, and so did my cut. All the ladies that work in the salon are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. She took the time to really listen, asked smart questions about how I style it, what I like and don't like, and repeated everything back so we were perfectly on the same page. (The fact that she has gorgeous curly hair herself was an instant confidence boost--she clearly understands curls on a personal level!) I got exactly the cut I asked for: great shape, face-framing layers that actually work with my curl pattern, and it's so easy to manage at home. The shampoo and that incredible head massage were pure bliss. The salon is spotlessly clean, professional yet super relaxing, and the price was completely fair--no feeling overcharged like I've experienced elsewhere. I took my brother here for a hair cut.. I usually take him to Razor's Edge on High St. because…read morethose guys actually know what they're doing.. But they couldn't get him in until Tuesday so I decided to take him to Master Cuts. The guy sits him down and asks how I want his hair cut, I said "You don't have to shave his whole head but like just clean up the sides and cut some off the top" meaning shave the sides, trim the top (the same thing I tell the guys at Razor's Edge) so this guy just snips a little with the scissors and then tells me to come look at it. The only thing that looked different was that he pointed my brothers sideburns like Dr. Spocks from Star Trek. So I said "Trim his hair more. It's still too long." So the guy cuts a little bit more and then takes the cape off without asking me if I liked it. I was getting frustrated so I paid and left, got my brother food and then I went back and asked them to fix it because it looked horrible and it was still long. So then he says "I'm gonna have to use the clippers if you want it shorter." I said "Yeah, I know. Do the sides and trim off the top" (FOR THE SECOND TIME) so this time her did shave the sides but his sideburns were still long AND there's a cut on his ear from the idiot. His hair is trimmed unevenly, there were still long pieces where he had shaved on the sides. I had to trim his side burns and cut the random long pieces so he'd stop crying that he was going to be made fun of at school. I am pissed. All I have to say is get some experienced stylists because the ones you have now seem unprofessional and look like they don't know what the hell they're doing. The only one I liked was the older lady because she was so nice about the situation. I will never come to this place again.

What does translate in this photo is how flipping good my skin looks and how my eyes pop. This is just me in my kitchen with my iPhone before I went out to dinner. I gave her very simple instructions in addition to providing a photo of a very BASIC cut, which she managed to seriously botch. I explained to Sarah that I was growing my hair out and wanted to maintain as much length as possible. All I wanted was the world's simplest cut: a blunt cut bob with no layering (with a tiiiiny bit of framing around the face). As I sat in the chair, I watched in horror as more and more length was lopped off my shoulder length hair. When she was done butchering my hair, she queried if it was okay. "No," I replied, "it's longer on this side" I said, pointing to my right chin. It was a good 1 1/2 inches longer on the right side in the front. "Oh" she said, looking puzzled. She starts to chop toward the back of my hair. snip snip snip. "Is that okay?" she nervously queries again, as she rushes to remove my apron. "Um... no, it's still longer RIGHT HERE." I see my boyfriend, obviously upset, in the mirror rise to his feet to illustrate that even from across the room he can see it's uneven. By the time he gets to my chair, Sarah is hacking another INCH off the BACK of my hair. My boyfriend says so the stylist will hear "oh my god your hair is just getting shorter and shorter." "What are you doing?!?," I shriek, trying not to lose my cool, "my hair is uneven RIGHT HERE, not in the back!" (My heart is beating out of my chest by this point.) Hurriedly, Sarah whacks a couple pieces off the front, never bothers to check to see if it's even, and takes off my apron. Before I get up, I fluff my hair to make sure it's at least passible. I'm horrified by the results, but what can I say? I'm in shock. I pay her $30 for butchering my hair. The walk out to the car is painful and awkward as my boyfriend and I "joke" about my horrible haircut. He hates my haircut and tells me so. We discuss ambushing Sarah in the parking lot and exacting revenge on her hair for what she did to mine. He looks at me and says "Don't worry honey, it'll grow back... eventually." Oh yeah, but not in time for our wedding and he HATES short hair. Everytime I look in the mirror I want to cry. I went in with shoulder length hair, and walked out with chin length hair. WHAT. THE.
