Finally found my hair person after moving here! As someone new to the area, trusting a stranger with my hair (especially extremely curly hair with dry, gray sections) was honestly stressing me out. I've had too many stylists who say they "get" curls and then do whatever they want. Kelly at Marie's Salon was the complete opposite. She took the time to really listen, asked smart questions about how I style it, what I like and don't like, and repeated everything back so we were perfectly on the same page. (The fact that she has gorgeous curly hair herself was an instant confidence boost--she clearly understands curls on a personal level!) I got exactly the cut I asked for: great shape, face-framing layers that actually work with my curl pattern, and it's so easy to manage at home. The shampoo and that incredible head massage were pure bliss. The salon is spotlessly clean, professional yet super relaxing, and the price was completely fair--no feeling overcharged like I've experienced elsewhere. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment. If you have curly or textured hair and hate explaining yourself every time, book with Kelly. She's a 10/10 and I can't recommend her enough! Maria's is great. I've been coming here for years. They offer all sorts of spa treatments I've not used, but I can tell you their hair coloring, haircuts, and eyebrow waxing are top quality. Every member of the staff is authentically friendly and very talented. They specialize in making you feel welcome and they make you beautiful. All their staff is great, but if you have curly, thick hair, you should ask to have Jennifer cut it. She works wonders with my hair. Sylvia is also a great stylist. They all are. These are people who really like to cut hair. This is not a snooty salon, but it provides snooty salon styling. They will make you look great and make you feel welcome. read more

I love this salon so much that I never stopped going there, even after moving to the DC area! Maria is a master at coloring. It took an intervention to get me from my black hair. She found a brown so natural, people are shocked it is not my natural color. She does highlights and low lights so they look natural not "done". If you want an updo for a formal event, Sylvia is the queen. You will think you died and went to heaven when Joyce washes your hair and massages your scalp. Both girls are great at nails. I won't let anyone anywhere do my eyebrows except Vanessa. The place is very clean. Coffee is always available and if it looks low, they'll make a fresh pot. I use to get my hair cut here, Maria's Salon and Spa, manyyyy years ago when it had a different name. I was looking for a salon that is reliable & economical as well. A family member recommend this place,Maria's Salon and Spa. She gets her hair done there, is satisfied, even recommended a stylist. So I gave it a try. No appointment was necessary. I only waited a few minutes. The stylist was very pleasant, well trained, and went straight to work. It didn't take to long [hair cut] to be finished. She did an excellent CORRECTIVE cut. I'm more than pleased! I'm totally satified!!! I will be returning here to Maria's Salon and Spa in the future & I will be recommending to family & friends!!! read more

Recently moved here and as anyone knows with moving, finding a great hair dresser is one of the priorities! Knowing no one in the area, I turned to yelp and their reviews. Joyce was terrific! Only wanted to be trimmed up, not scalped, as sometimes is the case with hair dressers. You say you want little taken off and they end up taking way more! Not the case with Joyce. I've been coming here for years to get my haircut and am always pleased with the outcome. I've used two different hair dressers and they both cut my hair as I asked and would ask questions when they needed any clarification.
