One of my friends has Huntington's Disease, which affects his movement and speech. Norma told us that "whatever this is needs to stop" and that she "can't have this because she has a business," even though her business is located half a block away on the opposite side of the street. What disturbed me most is that she singled out my disabled friend and questioned him in a demeaning way. Whether she thought he was intoxicated or simply didn't understand his condition, her behavior was inappropriate and discriminatory. I cannot speak to the quality of services at Chroma Beauty Bar. However, this incident left a strong negative impression, and I personally would not feel comfortable supporting this business.

He took my daughter (7 years old) to get the gc and on Christmas morning she couldn't stop talking about how nice and beautiful it was and she was so excited for me to go! I scheduled a massage for today with Melissa and from the second I got there to the second I left, I understand exactly why it's rated so highly! Everyone was welcoming and kind, the ambiance was relaxing, the massage bed was glorious. Melissa was really wonderful, listened to my concerns and really worked on some tough knots I had yet was able to work them out painlessly. The scent of the lotion she used was so nice as well. There was no pressure to schedule again or make purchases (although I did schedule my next appt for next month because I want to make sure Inget Melissa again!). I remember like it was yesterday when the stylist spun me around to reveal her masterpiece to me in the mirror, and I sat in horror as I saw my bangs feathered up no less than 4". (1991 NJ Hair.) I was at that point in life where I was figuring out who I was, and a girly girl with big hair was the furthest from it. I sobbed for days and vowed never to have another haircut. I had a good run, but at some point in my adult life I had to start looking quasi-normal. Still scarred from those bangs, I never allowed myself to get a haircut that cost less than $120. Fast forward to yesterday. I'm visiting my family here in town for the month, and I just came off of 3 months in Brasil. My hair was overgrown, dry, and always became a tangled mess after every shower. It had gotten out of control. I decided to try out Hair Cuttery based on the previous review, and I'm so happy I did! I called to make an appointment, but they told me to just come in and that there wouldn't be a wait. WELLLLL I came in, and there was a bit of a wait, but luckily not too long for me, because I said, "Pair me with whoever!" However, there was nowhere to sit. I'm a little compromised health wise right now, so it kind of stunk that I had to stand for so long. The salon was extremely busy. Before too long, Ellen came and picked me up! I explained to her some of the troubles I had been having with my hair, as well as how I usually like to style it. She immediately got to work, and honestly, she was my hair savior. She took a couple of inches off, and she layered it SO well. It looks great straight or curly. The dry, dead parts are all gone, and my hair overall is just lighter and bouncier. She was an absolute joy to work with as well! Easy to talk to and a lot of fun. Ready for the best part? Great cut and dry... $25! Holy cow!
