Your website mentions $15 onwards depending on the hair length..The stylist quote me $50 for blow dry plus $5 for wash, I went ahead and did it and was expecting to get blowdry along with styling but the stylist just did the blow-dry no styling at all for $55 was not expecting this....If you want to run the business and provide this service go try some places like Drybar and see what they offer just don't steal peoples money by providing services just for the sake of doing it.. read more

It was my first time at this Supercuts in Irvine in barranca. Aljendra was nice and gave my a solid trim.

You get what you pay for. The stylists here are pretty nice, but when it looks like things will start to pick up they won't hesitate to try and hurry up your cut. After my stylist finished the cut I noticed that she forgot to cut one of my sideburns. After she cut it one sideburn was pointing upward while another was slightly down. Wow, what a change from how I've been treated here in the past. The person who usually cuts my hair was on vacation and I was getting ready to go out of town, so I decided to come in and get a haircut from whoever was available. She was constantly trying to sell me extra stuff. Did I want a tea tree oil treatment? (No.) Did I want my hair shampooed? (Still no.) Did I want to buy a bottle of shampoo? (No, no, no, I said I just wanted a haircut!) After she figured out that I wasn't going to buy anything else, she rushed through cutting my hair and didn't even bother to give me a mirror to look at the back when she was done. Great for what I need. I go in every now and then just for a trim. Nothing fancy. Just something to get rid of the split ends. I come with my hair washed and ready and it takes 5-10 minutes. Bam. I went here because I had called ahead and asked if they could blowdry my hair straight with a roller brush and a blow dryer. I wanted to save money so I came in. The lady I talked to said they could but when I got there they wanted to charge me $50+ to blowdry my hair then flat iron it. I was so disappointed I was expecting a Cheaper price I mean cmon its supercuts I knew what to expect the moment I Walked in. So I walked across to "hair" and they gave me fast service and blow dried my hair the way I wanted for 35...this really is a men's salon, I should've known. What does it take to get a hair cut in Irvine ?!?! I was suckered in by their 'welcome to Irvine' coupon when I first moved in and thought I had a nice, cheap local place for a haircut. It's my custom to call ahead and put my name down, but in January this year I called in, came in, only to be told that my name was not on the list, and that I would have to wait at the end of the line. OK, I left and got a haircut elsewhere, resolving never to go there again, but had a change of heart with an ok haircut in May. Well, today I called ahead ... I thought something was weird when the guy said, come 45 minutes from now and didn't take my name down. I reminded him, "Don't you need my name?" after which he said he took it down. Well, I show up, only to be told by the receptionist that my name is not on the list, neither in the computer nor on paper. When I told her I had called in earlier, she repeated (duh, I heard you the first time) that my name is not on the list. She gave me a look like, "what do you want me to do about it?" and I left again. If I could give 0 stars I would. Crappy place, crappy customer service. Oh wait, you get what you pay for. read more

Every time I have come here, I have received a good to excellent haircut and each time it was a different person who cut my hair. This tells me that someone knows how to hire good hair stylists. Everyone here is at least friendly and many times very friendly. I bring in pics from magazines and they do the cuts well but will advise me about how a cut may go wrong due to the length of my hair, etc. I have medium length, straight hair in good condition (no processing damage, etc.) Some of the stylists try to sell me on products but are not pushy once I say "Maybe next time." Usual wait is twenty minutes and they do a brisk business, with a lot of men and children coming in too so it's good for families, I guess. I'm kind of impatient so I come in, have them take my name and go have lunch someplace nearby. When I come, back they are ready to take me. It's a little untidy here, with some hair floating around that they seem to miss sweeping from floor and counters. Stations could use a little sprucing up too. I like the shampoo and conditioner they use, smells good. And they wash your hair quite well, massaging your scalp too. Getting hair shampooed is extra (what ever happened to complimentary shampoo? And free soup and salad with dinner? And pizza delivery guys who don't assume you want them to keep your change?!) Best stylist so far is "Fifi" and my sister likes "Maurice." There are usually a lot of people there (on weekends, anyway) but things go fast because many of them are men or little kids. Cost: around $17 for shampoo and cut. She let me sample a couple of products too so I could see if I wanted to buy them. This is a good place to get your hair cut imho. Unless you are really picky. In that case, go to LA for rudeness or some small town for unskilled hairstylists in hole-in-the-wall beauty salons and you'll come back here grateful for Supercuts, O.C. read more

I have come here a few times and have been perfectly happy with their service. Van has been my hairdresser the past two times and she is very nice, polite, and does exactly what I ask for. They aren't pushy with their products, but they do mention them. The person working at the desk was nice as well, and I made sure to call ahead and schedule an appointment to avoid a wait. Got greeted quite friendly by Kristine at reception. However the lady who did my hair cut was less than decent. My hairs were bit longer and as soon as I sat to get the cut, this lady with a suggestive smile makes a remark to her colleague...."I know what you are thinking".....essentially insulting the customer. Apart from this, when I walked in I confirmed with Kristine about being able to use an e-coupon and she said, no problem we can use that. However when I was to pay, to the same lady who gave me the hair cut (Krisitine went for a short break and was not around), she tells me that we cannot accept the coupon.....and reasoning.... 1. Krisitine is new, she doesn't know. 2. We are franchise not company owned.... 3. I will give you $2 off..... Well.....my thoughts... 1. How would I know who's new and who's not....and who's responsibility is it that your staff is passing on the right info. 2. Why do I care....that's for you to know lady... 3. Tonight I went to Sport Clips but they had an hour wait and were closing so I ended up heading over to Supercuts. I've been here a few times and had a pretty good experience. Unfortunately tonight wasn't a good experience and I'm pretty sure I just got the worst haircut of my life. When I was there it was clear the lady had no clue what she was doing. I get the same style wherever I go but for some reason she couldn't understand it. Short on the sides and a little longer up top seems pretty simple to me. Right from the start I could tell things were going wrong and when I got home a noticed tons of uneven spots, long hairs, and a huge patch of long hair on the back of my head which I had to clean it up myself! I honestly contemplated just buzzing my head completely... who knows I still might. I've never written a bad review but I'm pretty upset. Next time I'll wait the hour at a better place. read more

Here's at least one major problem with this place---and why I marked it appointments only. I show up for a simple haircut for my son at 6:40 on Saturday, and okay, like everything else in Irvine they close ridiculously early at 7pm. If they had simply told me they could not do it, I probably would have moved on. Instead, I wait around for five minutes while some woman decides what color of tomato red her hair should be, and then when I get asked, I am told that they don't have time to do it before they are closed. Okay, I still probably would have moved on, but then some guy walks in at that point, and they have time to cut his hair because he called to tell them he was on his way. WTF. So there is a secret system for Supercuts!!!! I ask if I can make an appointment for tomorrow but no, they don't take appointments, only phone calls when you are on your way. Geez, it's not a night club, it's a stupid chain haircut. I'll take my children elsewhere. The only reason it has more than one star is Robin, who I has done my hair a few times. I come here pretty regularly and bring my husband here as well. I have never had such a terrible customer service experience and hair cut experience before. I walk in and was specific with what I wanted, an undercut with a design, and asked who would be cutting my hair to make sure they were comfortable with doing it and had EXPERIENCE, so they would screw it up. I was condescendingly told, anyone would be able to assist me. I then get called back, show a picture and explain I want a design. Shaves the area and then asks how I want to cut my hair. When I tell here again I wanted a design, she tells me its going to be $10 extra. The type of design, I was totally open to, but she wanted a specific picture so I chose the most basic one I had on my phone already. Then when she trims the rest of my hair, I tell her I just want a straight cut and that I dont part my hair straight down the middle like she has my hair currently situated. Completely ignores that and continues to trim my hair with a middle part so now when my hair is actually how i wear it, my hair wont be even. And to top it off, I get in my car and take a picture of it and I still have baby hairs that werent address. Small little tufts at the nape of my neck that should have been taken care of with the shave. Undecided if I will ever go back, or if I will just make sure to call any time I decide I might get a hair cut and ask to see if Robin is there or not because I don't want anyone else there touching my hair again. read more

Went to the Irvine Spectrum Supercuts for a trim (straight cut, 2 inches off the bottom), and was told that they are not trained in extensions, therefore they couldn't perform a simple trim. WOW! DO NOT COME HERE! It had been about 5 months since my last haircut so I was in desperate need of one. Janet (I think that's her name, she's an older Asian woman with glasses) was working on my hair while working on another woman's hair. She told me "you have to sit and wait here while I wash her hair out. I'm trying to work on both of you so you might have to wait a little bit long." Keep in mind I had already been in the salon for 45 minutes. It was another 15 minutes until she started cutting my hair. I didn't ask for anything crazy. No styling, layers, color, etc. I just wanted the dead ends cut off and that was it. By the time I was finished I had been there for almost two hours!! The older looking, chubby receptionist with long, brown, curly hair kept looking at my hair with a nasty face. Janet kept making comments about me in her native language and laughing with another woman working. Janet kept looking at my hair shaking her head and rolling her eyes. It was very rude. An employee should never make a customer feel uncomfortable. The haircut itself was okay but the service was TERRIBLE. The parking is sometimes a hassle of you go during lunch time, but the line inside is usually really small to no wait at all. I love this supercuts! Robin the manager there is great at short punky or pixie cuts which some places or ppl don't understand the nuances with those haircuts or are too scared to go to the edge which is what those extreme cuts require to look intentional. I just finished getting a mohawk which is exciting and fun. She is really quick and has a great eye for what you want as long as you explain what you're going for. I haven't had the pleasure of the other cutters but I'm sure they're good as well. If you don't already I would get the supercuts app which helps you to put your name in the list ahead of time which isn't an appointment but it puts you in line while you drive there. It's very useful. Also Tuesdays are 3$ less for a regular haircut (not sure if that's true with all supercuts or not) and I would recommend the survey on the receipt which saves you $2 on your next haircut. I usually give Robin a bigger tip than I would others bc she is just so fabulous, I told her if she ever leaves I will follow her!! read more

If you like a chop shop...Go here! Beware of the lady with feathers in her head and the girl that walks around with a bandana on her head. Feathers will chop your hair up so bad that you look like the clippers attached your head. The bandana girl....she didn't say much, but boy was she not having a good day. I pretty much never write reviews, but this just bothered me so much. I got probably the second worst haircut of my life earlier today. It's not a problem with Supercuts it's a problem with the haircutter. Just to be clear her name is Van Le. Just don't get her as your haircutter. She seemed like she hated her job or maybe her life. She spent about 10 minutes on my hair then didn't even say anything and basically motioned that we're done. I had her cut it shorter because we weren't done. It was my first time here. Everyone was really nice but unfortunately my haircut didn't turn out so well. I have really long hair and it took forever for the length to grow out to where it was. I needed a quick trimmed and asked my stylist to take an inch off. I even showed her a picture of what I would like - a simple clean up of my long layers and I specified (repeatedly) on keeping the length long. After I got home my hair dried off and I realized she had cut at least 4 inches off my longest layer and almost 7 inches off my shortest layer. I remember another lady sweeping all my hair off the floors before I had a chance to see the pile. I'm sure she knew I would have broken down if seen. I'm really disappointed with the communication and the experience my stylist lacked. I know I got what I paid for but it was supposed to be just a simple trim not a chopped fest. Well lucky for me, my hair will grow out again. But, in the mean time I'll just weep every time I look in the mirror wearing a bun/ponytail for the next six months:(. read more
