She does the prettiest hair color I've ever had. (And I've had a LOT of hair colors!) Also she uses natural products which was important to me when I was pregnant. Finding a hair stylist who will do what you ask (instead of giving you the hair cut they think you need) is pretty much priceless, which is why I won't go anywhere else. The appointment went find and i scheduled a follow up appointment for today. When the salon called to confirm that appointment I asked that a second appointment be made for me. At this time I learned the "customer account" was in my daughter's name. I declined to set up a second account under my name and explained she was a minor and I would be making all her appointments therefore there only needed to be one account under my name The receptionist assured me I could change the "account" to my name and make all appointments going forward. Today, upon arriving the receptionist stated this wasn't possible and we had to have separate accounts. Despite explaining my 12 year old does not have a cell phone to make or confirm appointments or a debit or credit card to secure them with and I do not, as a matter of principle, make accounts of this nature anywhere for my minor child I was told that was my only option and there was no one else I could speak to When I said I'd just cancel our appointments the receptionist seemed to find humor in this and said that was fine but we would be charged a cancellation fee of $50 for each appointment Not wanting to lose $100 I briefly considered staying but after conversing with my husband decided the parenting decisions we make for our child's privacy trump a nonsensical hair salon policy I left and was again told I'd be charged $100. No one cared the salon lost business. No one cared I made it clear we'd never be back. I am absolutely sure this will result in no change to the salons policies or customer treatment as the woman who so poorly handled this situation made it clear she was a supervisor and there was no one else I could speak to But, if you're looking for a salon to take your tween daughter to that respects you as a parent and the procedures you have in place for your child - this is not it.
