Complete waste of our time. We made an appointment and got there right on time! They said they were running "a little late", no worries.... 3 minutes later another customer came in and immediately went back to the washing station sat down and had someone start right away on her, not to mention that this is the second time the exact same thing happened. Need to be more aware of people's time. read more

Gave this place 3 tries to fix my hair color and long layers. Think it was Carissa all 3 times and she did an OK job. Color started looking better, but cut was not great. Found a new stylist who did a much better job first time. read more

I was in the neighborhood running errands and stopped by my first supercuts ever. Turned out to be decent. I got a trim without wash or blowdry. If you don't pay additional for blowdry, you walk away with wet hair and you aren't even allowed to dry your hair there. read more

I got Sarah and I love my haircut. Soo cute. The hair wash was super comfortable and I understand and responded to everything she asked me to do. The only thing that doesn't give it a 5 is the fact that she didn't really talk with me at all, but otherwise I loved the experience and the result! Plus great pricing! Great and convenient location. There was a little of a wait but saw us in a decent time due to not making an appointment. Had a trainee blow dry my hair so I wasn't very happy with the outcome but the cut wAs done right by an employee that has been there for a while. read more

Although as a man you pay premium for a haircut here, the price is worth it. I have had Brittany as my hair stylist on multiple occasions and I kid you not gives me a better hair cut each time I come in. Her customer service skills are outstanding and she has a great sense of humor and is easy to converse with. When receiving my shampoo portion of the cut, she really works the soap into my scalp so I know I am getting my money's worth. If I were to walk in blind-folded through the whole process and leave not looking into a mirror until once home I would think that I went to an up-scale hair salon. You are taking your chances walking in without an appointment for a particular stylist. The male stylist who has been there for years will take about 5 minutes to cut your hair, won't check to make sure it's even, and will not listen to instructions. He did a good job when I initially went there, but as time has gone on, he seems to have given up and just wants you out of there. The other stylists are very good. Avoid the older male stylist and you may have a good experience. read more

I've gone to this location multiple times over the years and I can say you will not be happy with the haircut, the price or the depressing people working here. Generally they have a mentality of get in and get out with the minimum effort, if you're not spending hundreds on a dye job or something fancy then they will do their best to snip snip go. Normally that would be great except the haircut is generally crappy and the personality of the people working here is of an underpaid, over worked wage slave. Would not recommend, you could probably just get drunk and cut your own hair with scissors and get a better cut. read more

Been coming here occasionally for several years. Had my hair cut by Toni for the first time today - AMAZING!! She's really smart and completely knew what to do with my extremely fine hair that was long and just hanging without any style. She took enough length off to get the hair healthy and then put really cute minor layers at the bottom. So now my hair is healthy and stylish - really cute! I've finally found my new favorite hair stylist. She's about to go out on maternity leave, so I ABSOLUTELY hope she comes back after the baby. read more

WORST HAIRCUT EVER. First time to this place and first time to a supercuts in 20 years. It lived down to its reputation. I made an appt. to come in on a Sunday. The "stylist" informed me he was called in that day to work because the store was busy and "he is really fast" - as if this is some feather in his cap. That's not what you want to here as a customer. Even if this is just a supercuts, a haircut should not take 6 minutes total. That was after asking to even up an area on the side of my head that was not cut evenly. Nothing was cut from 75% of my hair despite asking for a certain length taken off all the way around. Obviously the store was trying to churn and burn through a busy Sunday but no way in hell you can think a 6 min haircut can fly. I didn't appreciate the cavalier attitude of the place. Save yourself the trouble - don't go here unless you want to have to get an actual haircut immediately thereafter. read more

Do not go here if you want to listen to the manager complain about scheduling, witness belittleing of the receptionist, talks to employees in the back office while there are customers waiting. The hair stylist (taller of the two with tattoos) had an attitude. Rude. I would put no stars if that was an option. read more

Surprised by all the great reviews but still sceptical I decided to try this Supercuts after paying over 3 x as much for a cut that I was not happy with elsewhere. I saw Carissa and guess what? The reviews are all true!! She listened to what I asked for, gave me a great cut, and I was in and out in 25 min (!) which I loved as I hate spending hours in a salon. Having such a great experience, I decided to go back for highlights and once again Carissa did the trick! And once again I saved $$ and time!! I am a convert!! read more

I was in a pinch and was in desperate need of a haircut. I live in Encnitas and decided to Yelp Supercuts because it has been years since I have been inside a Supercuts. I read some great reviews about this location, and especially about Carissa. I decided to call and sure enough she was available :)) I went in right away and when I opened the door I was welcomed by such friendly smiles and felt comfortable right away. This is HUGE for me, because I'm such a vibe person!! All positive here!!! I got the best haircut I have had in years and because I trusted Carissa at this point I decided to get some highlights. She put some warm caramel highlights in my dark brown hair and I am so ecstatic. They look so natural and best of all they will be easy to keep up with (low maintenance). I got hacked by Ashley at this Supercuts! I am upset that when I called to make an appointment, I wanted to ask for a stylist who was good with long layers on long hair and Ashley is the one who answered the phone and said "yeah, I have been working as a stylist for 7 years." Hard to get an objective opinion when the stylist answers and is just trying to schedule her own appointments! I had hair almost down to my waist and the top of it was damaged from the sun and past coloring but not so bad that I needed anything dramatic done. I told her to not touch the full length of my hair but to trim up the top layer to help take care of the damage; fast forward through her hacking through my long hair with wild abandon and obviously having no experience in long layers -- I walked out of there with layers that started at my shoulders and ended above my bra strap, and she listened to me and left a tiny bit of my full length in the back, the layers were not just from the crown of my hair like many long layers I've had before, they went all the way down into the sides of my head, leaving the back long piece looking like some stupid tail. When I got home and realized how ridiculous it looked in the back (it looked like I was wearing a layered wig on top of my hair in the back) I had to hack off about 3-4 inches of my very slow growing fine blonde hair just to make it blend in. Oh, and the layers were not even, so when I had my hair in a pony tail it had a few pieces of longer hair that she missed! End of story, I went in with super long, thick hair that needed a little taken off and I left with half my hair gone and uneven layers. DO NOT LET THIS ASHLEY CHICK CUT YOUR HAIR, PERIOD! read more

I stopped in this location on Thursday afternoon a little before 3 in the afternoon. No one was waiting but three women were on the floor, two with customers. The receptionist was chatting with the available stylist and I waited until they finished their conversation before I told the receptionist I was there for a haircut. She turned to the woman she was talking to and said "you're going home, right?" The woman looked at me and then back at the receptionist and said "yes". The receptionist then turned to the other two women one at a time and both shook their head "no". The receptionist said it would be two hours before I could be seen. I know it's Supercuts and not a high end salon and I know I could get better service if I paid for it by going to a high end salon. However I left the location feeling as if my business was not important. I know it won't mean much to Supercuts...but I won't be back. Some very simple customer service training about how to treat people and be respectful of their presence in their business would go a long way. They may have been legitimately busy...but an explanation at to why there was a two hour wait rather than employees simply saying they didn't want to work would be appreciated. read more

She is professional, engaging, and attentive to her clients, and she always gives me a great haircut! Although I have not had a haircut by any of the other stylists, from my observation, they perform to Carissa's same high standards. Give this Supercuts location a try. About 6 years ago, I was going to a high-end salon where my hair was styled and colored. My age back then was around 56 years old. My hair is naturally wavy and was turning white and starting to thin. I didn't mind paying the price for the style or cut of my hair but after two or three times of not being satisfied and paying about double for a hair style, I felt I had to try something else. One day, I just had to do something because I felt terrible that my hair cut was not suited for me. I happened to be going by the SuperCuts off La Costa and El Camino Real in Carlsbad. I was assigned to Art Rocha. I found a picture in a book that I believed was more in line with my age and hair. After looking at the picture, Art had my hair in shape and so easy to style even after leaving the salon. Often, a stylist can make your hair look good but trying to duplicate what they did is not always possible. I have been going to Art over the last 6 years and he is consistently good and I always feel like I am "walking on air" after one of his haircuts. I always wonder why I waited to come back in as I feel so much better with each visit. The other thing I noticed is how much fun the staff at this Supercuts has. Amanda is always incredibly friendly and greets me when I come in. I enjoy the interaction between all the staff while I am getting my haircut. My appreciation for such good care is beyond words. read more

This salon is great! All of the hairdressers are wonderful. I feel I can trust them to decide what to do with my hair! I'll ask for something a little different, usually I'm afraid of it coming out VERY different or something crazy, but here they are really good at reading their customers and making the right decisions! I had a great experience with Carissa, I told her i wanted t go blonde and she made me blonde!!! She was informative and super helpful. I couldnt believe i left with bleached hair that wasnt fried!! That was a first, I thought there whole team was super nice and personable I loved the girl she worked with, red hair and glasses, forgot her name but she was super friendly. She made me want to bring my son into their shop! Over all i left happy, with the crazy blonde hair i wanted, and left with a new stylist. I would def. recommend carissa for a fun style!
