I have been wanting to get my haircut for awhile; I eyed this place and popped in on a whim. Jeanine was my stylist and the whole experience exceeded my expectations! Not only did she listen to me, but she asked questions about how much effort I like to put into it daily to figure what length to cut it. She also gave me haircare tips without trying to upsell me on products sold in the salon (including the fact bang trims are only 10$! I no longer have to get them cut extra short to grow into the look I actually want!). The salon itself was clean and bright, and I appreciated the "no appointments policy". They have an easy online check-in system that I might utilize my next visit. Upon my exit, she input information into my newly created file as to what she did and my preferences in case I go to another location. Super cool! i would 100% recommend coming to great clips. Not only is the place clean and tidy the staff is very nice. I had a lot of questions because I had never been there before, and they were very kind to answer all my questions straightforward. I've had bad hair experiences before where someone has cut my hair too short or didn't do what I asked for but today the lady I got her name was Alex did exactly what I wanted and even at the end when I said, can we go a little bit shorter. She was so kind enough to go a little bit shorter and still style my hair. She was very kind and very sweet and very nice to talk to. Outstanding haircut by Heather and overall experience today at Great clips in Encinitas. Warmly welcomed with a smile on arrival. Short wait. Heather read my style notes and confirmed what I would like today. She mostly scissor cut my hair to finger length, checked it for accuracy then touched it up. When I checked it with a comb after she sprayed some water on it I asked her of she could flatten the top a bit. She did that and checked it again. A true professional. Love this place and MOST stylists. HOWEVER Desiree was SO rude, she made my disabled daughter cry last friday because she couldn't move her feet while desiree was walking past her. Desiree wouldn't stop scoffing at her whenever she asked her to cut more and she said it would look bad on her. I feel terrible for her coworkers having to deal with that attitude of hers. My 16 month old went in for a bang trim... this was her second hair cut that she got here...the first one was very good! The second one... she will be laughing at this bad hair cut when she gets older! I needed to get a haircut because it was super hot these last two days and I didn't plan ahead with my normal hair stylist. Went in to get two inches off and texture my hair. You really can't complain when the haircut costs $24. Kimberly was personable and asked what I wanted done before starting. I wasn't in love with my cut but I'm not disappointed either. I needed a simple haircut. The app is way off for wait time, when I signed up it said "48 mins" and then I checked in it said "14 mins" when I showed up, I probably waited less than 10 minutes. This was around 9:45am. They do take walk-ins but there is a screen and a list of people who are "waiting" for haircuts, it's a virtual haircut line. read more

I went to get my hair cut at 9 am this morning. There timer said I had to wait 153 minutes if I signed in then. I was told only one cutter was there this morning and I should come back at 11am. I came back at 3pm and the timer said there were still 37 minutes and only 1 cutter was there so I decided to go grocery shopping. The timer was down to 36 minutes then. Apparently this pre scheduling isn't for me. Let's try hiring more than one cutter on weekends. read more

This place is awesome for kids cuts and has outstanding customer service! I have been trying to get my three daughters in for haircuts at local salons but it has been extremely difficult with their activities schedules and salon availability. The check-in option worked seamlessly, and Angelica and Kimberly were extremely nice even though we showed up late, and near closing time. Even that aside, they did fantastic jobs, were very patient and kind, and meticulous with each of my daughters' haircuts. They spent extra time explaining how to care for their hair. We have spent 3 times as much at other salons and the haircuts here are MUCH better! We will not go anywhere else for kids cuts in the future! This place is truly a gem. We started off by checking in online to see what the wait time was and timing our arrival for a minimal wait. What a great time saving feature. We went on a Sunday morning and the estimated wait time online was pretty accurate so my two kids were taking almost immediately upon arrival. Lisa was super friendly towards the kids, even as my 2 year old melted down. Hair cuts look great. Some of the lowest, if not the lowest, prices in town for kids cuts. $15 for kids. Amazing! My first visit here was very memorable! There was a large parking lot and easy to find (located right next to Ralphs) The store was EXTREMELY clean and organized. The products are well displayed but not cluttered or overwhelming. I was greeted immediately by a cheery young lady. I had already used the app to check in online, so was aware of my 7 minute wait and it was exactly that! I left with a beautiful haircut and feeling very appreciated.
