I apologized for not knowing a lot about hair, and showed Emily the picture of the hairstyle I wanted and tried to articulate any desires that differed from what was exactly in the image. I also asked her to keep in mind that I have really thick hair, and keeping it up and intact has been historically a Sisyphean task. In about a half hour I walked out with a great hairstyle for a great price! I was giddy about how great it had turned out -- an even better version of what I was envisioning -- and got so many compliments! About a year ago I paid for a similar style at Drybar for $90 before tip. It stayed up all right but wasn't very exciting. This one was much better and for $65! Outside of this extreme kindness, we have always had good experiences with Sheila and Diane. I have had cuts by Sheila - she keeps me looking young and fun :) my daughters both got their back to school cuts with Diane this year. Although it was very clear she doesn't regularly do kids hair, she made it work and they loved how they felt and looked when we left. I did a keratin treatment, and because I have a thick long strong Asian hair, so it usually takes more time to do treatment. Renee is so good at treating Asian hair and I was surprised that she has lots of experience with Asian hair before. My hair comes out smooth, shiny, silky and much lighter than before.
