I am so disappointed by my haircut here. I've been here in the past when I can't get an appointment at my usual salon, and they usually do a good job but today was awful. I requested a haircut and showed the the photo of my last haircut there and wanted that cut again. I could tell she was cutting too much and said it was looking way shorter than it was supposed to. I wish I hadn't removed my glasses otherwise I would have told her to stop altogether, but she brushed it off and kept cutting. I told her again it was way too short and she said something about how it was still wet, and I said "yeah which means it will shrink up even more." She brushed that off with a "oh it's only damp, it won't shrink that much". But here I am with a crappy short haircut I hate. She didn't charge me for the cut but you cannot glue hair back on if you cut too much. She honestly looked like she felt bad about the whole thing, so my advice would be that you need to take small amount off at a time and double check with the client that they are okay or if they want more off. I cried in my car for an hour. Yes it's just hair and it will grow back, but I have serious health issues and my hair doesn't grow as fast as others. So I am stuck with this for awhile. Even my trusty flat iron didn't help anything. :( read more

I've been to this location a half dozen times, and the three times I got a haircut there, quality was very good. The other times, there was a wait (20-30 minutes), and I left. The staff I interacted with were all pleasant and professional. However, they don't accept appointments which makes it difficult to get the same stylist every time without waiting. I've called in advance, and still had to wait 20-30 minutes. I went early in morning (as soon as they opened), again had a 20-30 minute wait. One recommendation (if appointments/schedules cannot be maintained) is to call the customer when the stylist is ready. Very simple solution for those who don't want to wait around in their lobby for 30 minutes. The 2 times I've waited there, the front desk clerk stands there waiting for customers to come in, why not have them make calls? I'd agree with one of the other reviewers that having to say your tip out loud is awkward. A good tactic to put pressure on the customer to tip well (very crafty), but this should be changed. Their business model isn't for me, but the haircuts are good. read more

I've been coming to super cuts for years , for the last three years I've also come on Veterans Day ( free haircuts were always offered) . I was lead back by karla , I asked her about my free hair cut for Veterans Day she said we will talk about this after your hair cut , I said ok . Once done with my hair cut she told me after my discount (Heros discount) my total was $20. I told her ok , I was going to give you the $20 for a tip but now I will just have to pay for the hair cut instead . Upon hearing this another veteran asked about his free hair cut she quickly responded that he would not be getting one either . She was clearly upset and wanted to call her manager but I wanted to just pay and leave . I paid for his haircut because I wanted to make a point . I really liked her she was very kind and when she didn't tell me the truth on this information , it was dishonest for her to not let me know . I will be taking my business elsewhere for a while . read more

I just got one of the best haircuts I've had in a LONG while. Laura is amazing and I will be requesting her each and every time I need a haircut or style, because she did SUCH a good job. I came in, she listened to my requests to cut my long layers into a long bob. She saw a photo of what I was thinking and got to it. She also was so considerate and used a tea tree shampoo and conditioner because I mentioned itchy and greasy scalp. I love that kind of care and attention. We chatted about our kids and my husbands' hatred of short hair cuts, so she kept extra length for me to get used to the style. She instructed me how to style it and worked with my existing color. I have face framing blonde pieces that are looking cray right now, but she made them look FANTASTIC! I love how she went with an on-trend look and did a messy beachy wave style. Why I always believe everyone deserves a first impression and a second chance. I had a rather bad experience the time I came before. I came back today and was able to get a great cut and wax from Emily. She was very personable and made sure to listen to my requests and make the experience great. Marlene, was very kind and remembered my experience from before and made sure this experience was a good one. Everyone had a great attitude and I left feeling better than I did when I came in. I can't believe it, but it's true. I go to an expensive salon in Beverly Hills every 6 - 8 weeks for color/cut. I really do, not even kidding. But...I was killing time waiting for the hubby to pick me up, I needed a trim badly, and thought, how bad can it be? So, I went in. The girls there have really nice looking hair. (Big plus). So, I have a DRY trim with Jennie Darling. DRY, I did not have time for a shampoo, etc. Everyone knows a dry trim/cut and style is not as easy as trimming hair wet. Well, she is adorable, she is professional, and my hair looks great. She did EXACTLY what I asked, she listens, she asks questions, and she does a good cut. ( I have medium/long thick colored hair, layers, with bangs). For $17. i just can't believe it, so today i am rocking my great looking hair with a lot of extra cash in my pockets. Thank you Jennie! The appointment system doesn't work. You can't make it for a specific date and time. You have to show up within a certain time from the time you called. Additionally, when the haircut experience becomes a social event for the people in front of you (the gift to gab) your appointment is pointless. Just got back from taking my 4 1/2 year old son here for a cut. Must first say he has a HORRIBLE phobia with getting his hair done. Scared water will get in his eyes and the cutting in general. I had already taken him one place down the street that we had to leave due to his crying. I talked him into going into supercuts before we grabbed a couple things at the market next door. It looked like it was going to be a repeat of the other place and we would be going home with my son still sporting a long shaggy style. But the girls really stepped up. they did all they could think of to get him compfy. It ended up with him on my lap, two of us reading him a book while Rosie the wonder woman clipped away. In the end my little one has a very well done cut that i love. We both ended up looking like yeti's by the time she was done. Didn't realize he had that much hair! On the way home he actually said "Mommy, that was soo much fun getting my hair cut!" He's looking forward to going back! I'm thrilled to find someone he feels so happy with. Never going here ever again. I wanted a few layers cut but to still have the same length (aka keep the bottom layer how it already is). The girl cutting my hair cut off 6 months of growth! I cringed the second I saw how she was cutting the layers, and the layers look horrible!!! She had no cutting technique, combed my ears so much they still hurt and left a bunch of shampoo in my hair! Went there on my Birthday with my best friend just to get my hair washed and curled thinking it would be quicker and more fun than doing it myself. First of all I showed the girl a picture of what I wanted, simple Marilyn curls, and what I was left with was so hideous that I took no photo evidence, as well as cried in my car. The girl used practically a whole bottle of hair spray on my head, I have a medium length a-line, and all the chemicals were so NOT needed. The prices are listed on the board when you first walk in, after my hair was done we were charged 3x the amount listed for both the blow dry and the style, andddd I was charged just as much for my short thin hair as my best friend was charged for her long and super thick hair. The employees were SUPER RUDE when we questioned the exaggerated prices. They refused to give us our money back, and lacked any type of intelligence whatsoever. We had to rush back to my house were I got in my bath tub on all 4's and my best friend then had to SCRUB all the nasty hair spray out of my hair and shampoo for a good 10 minutes before I could even blow dry and style it myself. Worst hair experience EVER. If negative stars were available that is what I would choose. read more

I just get my haircut at this store just because of its location. I could go to Fantastic Sams in Grover Beach, but the traffic is more hectic there and the parking lot is smaller. Also, it's easier to find to maneuver the car and find a parking space here. I usually go on a weekday afternoon and the wait is usually 30-45 minutes. In the several years I have been coming here they never seem to have sufficient staff. Some of the haircutters are not very courteous to the customer and are not the most customer-focused. Some of the haircutters carry on with personal conversation with other employees. Some of the haircutters seem to think that customers are trying to cheat them. I usually ask for a shampoo with my haircut and when I remind the haircutter that I requested a shampoo the haircutter will yell out "add a shampoo to the ticket" to the receptionists (who should have already done that). When I am finished with the haircut, the receptionist (which I already told her not 15 minutes before) asks me if I got a shampoo. Before I can even answer the haircutter blurts out rudely "yeah, there was a shampoo" as if I wasn't in the room. I've had two haircutters do that, the Hispanic man, and the Hispanic girl with the funky haircut who looks like a Chihuahua gone wrong. read more

WORST PLACE TO GET A HAIRCUT EVER! I've been here multiple times and turns out the guys are the only ones that can cut hair in an orderly fashion and get it to what YOU want. The people here either cut too much or too little. UGH. I would never recommend going there even for just a trim. I went for a trim and the woman cut way to much off, the top is uneven, and she stopped mid way. I am disgusted by my hair. I am disgusted by all supercuts in California! I'd rather spend 100 dollars for a PROFESSIONAL to give me a trim. There is no possible way my hair will grow out even now. It took me half a year to grow how much i had and you went and cut it ALL off. I only asked for you to trim off the dead hair. You trimmed more than that. I barely look at my hair anymore because of how much i hate it. "Hair grows, Hair grows". NO SHIT. But it doesn't fix itself over time. might as well just get it all chopped of AGAIN and start over AGAIN. I hope you look at this before you go there. I would NEVER recommend.
