By the time we were seated it was pushing 3:20. One person started working on my feet, while the person I was there with just sat in the chair. Another 20 minutes goes by and no one had even come over to help. The person doing my toes went off to help someone with a transaction. In that time 3 more people came in for appointments, still with no one to help them. At that point we decided to cut our losses and leave. So we spent 40 minutes doing nothing. I got my toe nail polish off and toenails trimmed, that's it. The person I went with had no service done at all. No one really seemed to care that we weren't being helped or that we walked out. The person doing my toes did apologize but otherwise it felt like they didn't care and they had put us in the chairs only to keep us there not to serve us. I'm incredibly disappointed as I've had great experiences here before, but being treated that way, with an appointment is unacceptable. If you didn't have enough people to serve us, tell us that. I would have happily come later in the day or at a different time instead of being treated like that. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Kirsten Silva took the time to listen to me, conference with her peers, and put the work into correcting what had gone wrong before. I walked away with hair that hasn't lookEd or felt healthier in years! Kirsten worked with me to set up a plan over the next several weeks to ensure my color got back to the natural feel I am wanting. Kirsten made sure I felt truly heard, appreciated, and pampered! My band plays 80's dance rock so the girls in the band went as the B52's! My regular stylist was unavailable for this project and didn't know of anyone good who knew about synthetic wigs. I posted the project here on Yelp. Monica got back to me right away, on a weekend, (unlike 10 of the other salons I contacted) and gave me clear information that assured me she actually knew about working with synthetic wigs. She got me in and cut and styled the wig for my face. She then kept it to do the styling part. I wanted it to be 80's big hair style, tall on top and luscious hair around the back. I went back for the final fitting, and Monica had bought a stand for it and styled it. It looked so amazing!!! She taught my daughter how to put it on my head for the day of the performance. The color of it looked so good with my complexion... I never knew I could wear red. I decided to ask her for a color and cut just to get a chance to try something more red, because the wig red really complimented my skin and made me look younger. I asked Monica and she said if I went with an overall color change to solid bright red, it would take two processes, be really hard on my hair, and would require constant maintenance every 4 weeks. (More money for her, but she really wanted me to be happy. Another point for her in my book.) She suggested I have my current highlights, that were already lifted to blonde, changed to red, and then have new blonde highlights added this time. Then, every time I go in for my highlights, I can have the new blonde highlights from last time turned red, and new blonde ones added. She said my overall hair color would gradually become more red over time as more and more of the highlights become red ones. At the same time, because of how she did them, I wouldn't get crazy to deal with out growth every 4 weeks! That was a smart solution that I haven't ever heard anywhere else! I said "YES" and we started the process! Everyone loves my new hair color, and I love the shade of red she added to my hair. Needless to say, I already booked my next appointment with Monica at the Iron Scissor! Oh and my wig was a huge success at the Halloween gig! It looks so good, I've decided to wear it at our next performances too! 80's rock here we come!!! (The band is "The Random Ants") Everyone loves my hair color... both with the wig and without! This salon rocks!
