I recently took ownership of the '04 F250 and did tons of research to find the best shop to perform upgrades and modifications, mostly for longevity and a little touch of performance. Mad Matt's Diesel Performance is an honest and highly skilled group of guys that not only know Ford diesel trucks, but take pride in their work. I decided on EGR delete vs upgrade. The heads were removed, sent to a reputable machine shop, tested, resurfaced and reinstalled with ARP studs. All gaskets, filters, O-rings and fluids are Ford Motorcraft. The oil cooler was replaced with Ford Updated oil cooler. I originally wanted to go with the external cooler but due to budget, gotta try out the updated version in which has good reviews. Rocker box gaskets, dummy plugs, fuel psi reg, blue spring and injector o-rings were replaced. The battery cables were in bad shape so I had them take care of that issue as well. I was in contact with Matt, weeks before my truck was delivered, scheduling a date to leave my truck with him. Since I had some time, I ordered a MBRP 4" Stainless Steel Turbo Back Exhaust system to be installed during the bulletproof process due to the ease of access for installation. They also installed a nice street tune. I'm loving it! Judging from the many posts, blogs and forums I checked out, the work performed was at an extremely fair price. I'd definitely recommend this shop and I'll be back for more mods soon.

So two weeks later my engine light goes on and took it back to see what it was and they told me a vacuum seal needed replacing. They could do it on Thursday. I showed up then and the guy I talked to wasn't there and the other guy said very sternly he would need it a week to diagnose it. I reminded him I was told they could do it and the price quoted but he said nope. Won't be back. Very poor customer service.

Today I stopped @ the W'frd shop as a 'test' of mrktng blather or truth in advertising. Blaine, Mikah, the team and the techs there were 100% as advertised. Without hesitation, they immediately drove and inspected my car to determine the source of my/it's issues. Tests were done, Q&As were exchanged among us and the results determined that, despite questionable sounds, every test, comparison and measurement, my car seemed to be in safe and good working order. Blaine said he'd reach out to other human and digital sources, describe the perceived/known problems/noise and would call me should any new opinions be offered. This business and these men are a FOR PROFIT establishment and COULD have certainly tried to convince me that I should let them 'do such and such' to try and solve the issue. Not only did they NOT try that tactic, they REFUSED to accept ANY compensation from me for the work they did in the investigation process! I am no novice and could have recognized an attempt to 'lead me' into spending some money with them..that NEVER happened.. I grew up in a small town so I can unequivocally say that it has been DECADES since I have had such a unique, honest, professional, unexpected and enjoyable interaction with auto mechanics....like small towns USED to have...with these men and this company! The reviews for this place are excellent and so I decided to take my Tacoma to them to get some…read morework done. The truck is fairly old so, among several other things, they quoted new shocks and strut assemblies. After getting the truck back and driving a few days back and forth to work I noticed that it always had a pronounced lean where the passenger side of the vehicle was riding several inches higher than the driver's side. After calling to confirm, Phil stated that they had done an alignment and had even verified the ride height/level. The truck was definitely leaning though so something was not right, I took it to the Toyota dealership and they showed me the issue. Fort Worth Auto Garage had installed the wrong shock and strut assemblies on one side of the vehicle. I don't believe Fort Worth Auto Garage actually did an alignment or a ride height check, because it surely would have been noticed that the incorrect parts had been installed on one side of the truck. That being said, once I confronted Phil with this information he did agree to install the correct parts so eventually it was fixed. Fort Worth Auto Garage do have reasonable prices, however they seem to be a bit sloppy with their work and they do not seem to pay close attention to details, such as part numbers.
