We ordered the sashimi salad, fuji, geisha, and popcorn roll. I really enjoyed the salad. It had a lot of sashimi and I was nearly full off of that! I could only take a few bites of the rolls before feeling completely stuffed! For salmon, the Fuji roll was a little too rich for me so I would opt for the genki or lemon roll next time. The geisha roll was good and the popcorn roll was just crazy! I feel like that could feed 4 people! I enjoyed the crunchy crayfish on top but it's just too much for two people. After trying a few sushi places in the area, I think this is the best one so far. We also got a nice discount on rolls during happy hour so we will definitely be back!

So, of course, I look on Yelp and came across Nko Niko sushi, which is regarded as one of the best sushi spots in Redlands. I actually went as far as double checking on reddit and the votes were definitely in! This place seemed legit so I had to try it. It's located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking. There are several restaurants in the area, while Niko Niko is tucked away near the water fountains out front. As I arrived, they quickly sat me at the bar area and my typical rainbow roll and I tried their snow cone roll. The rolls were so good and the fish was fresh! I loved the sweet sauce that was added to the snow cone roll. After about 20 mins, the chef, who's name is Yaser, started asking me what my favorite fish is and why I like it. I told him Albacore and he instantly makes me some concoction with ponzu sauce which was fire. He then asked me if I like salmon and I told him yes and he makes me a seared salmon roll with orange sauce and pepper. By this time I'm stuffed but enjoying this experience. He made going to a sushi restaurant interesting again like when I first tried sushi. We start talking about Japan and he ask me if I ever had salmon skin. I tell him absolutely not and that when I bake salmon I usually take the skin off. He then tells me that I HAVE to try a salmon skin handroll so I figured I should just go with it. My mind was blown!! I actually like salmon skin lol. It was so good! Overall, I had an amazing experience at Niko Niko and Chef Yaser. I left him a generous tip for the experience and he changed the way I will forever dine at a sushi bar now. If you're in the area, please stop at Niko for some fresh tasty sushi and an excellent sushi experience with sushi chef's that know what they're doing. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

We came here because of high ratings, and some foodie IG posts, we are glad the food was good. I don't usually like salmon sushi, but theirs are creamy and really good, love the seared salmon. I had AYCE lunch, sushi selection is limited (I like the raw shrimp they don't have it..), but good enough for lunch, your basic salmon, tuna, unagi, cooked shrimp and etc. are all available! If we are around the area, we will definitely be back.

I'd say Miyagi's is solid three-star quality sushi. They do offer all-you-can-eat, which is a huge plus, and the price is really reasonable, I believe it's around $36 per person. Pro tip: Ask them to thin-cut your rolls! They're so much easier to eat that way, and since they're smaller pieces, you can definitely try more rolls if you're doing AYCE. Out of everything we ordered, the Miyagi's Special was hands-down my favorite. I absolutely loved that roll! The others were okay, but where Miyagi's lost me a little was the freshness and quality of the fish. After recently having incredibly fresh, market-quality fish at Joyce Sushi for a pretty comparable price, and they also offer AYCE, there was definitely a noticeable difference for me. That being said, the service at Miyagi's was very nice, and we had a fun time here. This location is SMALL and always seems to be busy, especially around lunchtime, so be prepared for a possible wait during rush hour. The parking lot is also pretty small, and the surrounding area of San Bernardino isn't the greatest, but once you're inside, it's a nice little sushi spot. Overall, Miyagi's is still pretty good sushi, especially if you want reasonably priced AYCE. But now that I've experienced fresher fish at a comparable price, I don't think I can rate it as highly as I used to. 3 stars for me.

His jokes and comments, including sexual and suggestive remarks, made the women in our family very uncomfortable. We were there to celebrate our son's birthday and expected a fun, family-friendly experience. Instead, the chef's conduct made the occasion uncomfortable and took away from what should have been a special celebration. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the experience. It was mediocre at best, with what seemed like an excessive amount of vegetable oil used throughout the dishes. The food tasted heavy and flat, and for a meal costing over $500, we expected a much higher level of quality. The one standout was the green tea fried ice cream, which was delicious and may honestly be the only item on the menu that we would recommend. For the price we paid, we expected better food, better service, and--most importantly--a respectful and family-appropriate atmosphere. This experience fell far short of those expectations. Management should seriously address the chef's behavior and the overall quality of the dining experience.

The flavor was good and I enjoyed them, but unfortunately they were missing one of my favorite parts of xiao long bao. The soup. There was very little to no broth inside. The braised beef noodle soup was easily my favorite dish. The broth was flavorful, the beef was tender, and it came out at the perfect temperature. My only complaint was the noodles themselves. They were pretty tangled and clumped together, almost like they had been sitting refrigerated before being added to the broth. Once separated, though, I really enjoyed the dish. We also ordered the sliced beef with hot peppers. The beef had good flavor, but I thought the sauce was a little too dry for my preference. And when they say hot peppers, they mean it, there were A LOT of jalapeños. There was also a small wait between receiving the noodle soup and the rest of our entrées, so the timing could have been a little better. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, plenty of space, and is conveniently located near Downtown Redlands. Overall, I'm glad to see a place serving good Shanghai style Chinese food in an area where there aren't a ton of options like this. Definitely a place I'd come back to and try more of the menu. 7/10

First thing I noticed were 2 Japanese ladies eating inside. Good sign! Was clean, plenty of seating, liked the solid granite tables. The "new" owner is this young guy who bought the place 3 years ago when the previous owner retired. He was working hard as the only waiter and 2 chefs in the back and bar. For lunch, i had the 12-pc sashimi (all fish) for $20...did I say 11 pieces?!? Man it was totemo Oishikatta!!! Probably some of the best sashimi I've had outside of Tokyo. Even my Japanese Nihonjin partner agreed it was very good (and she's a picky Japanese eater!). I liked that it was all fish cuts so I didn't have to sub or ask for sub for seafood I don't eat (bottom-dwellers, scavenger seafood). Shihoko-san had the salmon bento box and it was also very tasty. However, the parking lot was quite dark and could benefit from additional lighting, especially in the evening. The restaurant has an open concept where you could see everyone dining, welcoming atmosphere, and I was greeted warmly by two employees and seated right away. It wasn't particularly busy when I arrived, although it became noticeably busier throughout dinner. Service remained friendly and prompt. I ordered the shrimp and calamari tempura along with the spicy edamame. The edamame was unfortunately overcooked. I also tried several sushi rolls, including the Baked Salmon and Spider Roll. Most rolls come in eight pieces, so I would appreciate a half-order option. It would allow guests to sample more varieties without getting overly full with a couple rolls. Plus, I didn't inquire, but this is the first time I've experience an AYCE order sheet with I my two columns. So I made sure I ordered heavy on my first round. One area for improvement is the consistency of the roll sizes. Several slices were quite thick, and the portion sizes varied between rolls. Overall, this is a good option if you're in the area and don't want to drive farther for other options.

It's rare to be good at all things--sushi and other rice dishes! Portions were great and prices for sushi were unbeatable. Our personal highlights were the desserts: black rice coconut milk and coconut mango sticky rice. Delicious texture, flavor, and not too sweeet! Owner and his family were also so kind too. Every time I see reviews saying they've improved, I give them another chance hoping maybe this time will be different, but it never is. The fish, especially the salmon, just doesn't taste fresh to me. I wouldn't necessarily say it smells bad, but the flavor is off almost overly salty and it doesn't have that clean, crisp, fresh taste I expect from sushi. They also consistently skimp on the spicy mayo, and I really dislike that they mix it with eel sauce instead of keeping the sauces separate. The ginger is always mixed in with the wasabi too, which is frustrating, especially because some people may have sensitivities or allergies and don't want everything touching. The miso soup portions are another issue. When ordering through DoorDash or for pickup, the containers are barely filled, yet they still charge around $3-$4 for it. The prices are not cheap, so after three separate attempts, I expected much better quality and consistency. I genuinely wanted to like this place and kept giving it another chance, but at this point I can't justify ordering from here again.
