Super Supplements - Absolutely love this store! - Vitamins & Supplements Near Me - Olympia, Washington

This used to be my go-to store for all supplements and health items like protein powder. For the last year or so the store seems to be struggling to keep good sales staff. Most sales staff now are sort of surly and ill-tempered and don't seem to know their jobs very well. For example, it took me three visits to get help with a specific supplement they usually carry, and one sales staff person never asked for my customer rewards number. When I asked him if I could give it to him after he rang me up he said no. I left the store without my item. They also seem to have stopped carrying many items I used to purchase there. I'm going to start ordering what I need online. It's too bad because I really wanted to support my local store. read more

I just drove all the way across town to come to this place because West Coast supplements can never seem to be open during business hours, the prices seem to not be set in stone and there's no prices on anything, and they really don't have much in the store. So I went to Super Supplements and every time I've been to Super Supplements they are open during business hours are fully stocked with a wide variety of nutritional supplements. They're clean, fully staffed and super friendly and I don't feel like they're just trying to get my money and rush me out the door. read more

They advertise protein bars as BOGO 50 but have barely any full cases in stock. They don't allow you to fill a box and honor the deal here like most good vitamin shoppes/super supplements would because of "inventory". A manager could easily work this issue to help satisfy the customer but this location won't. No full boxes no deal for you. Their motto "too bad we can't". My advice, go to the store in Tacoma. Maybe they'll honor deals and work with the customer there. Or a GNC. read more

I'm not sure what the managers name was (she was a female) came on a Saturday. I find it extremely unprofessional how she was reprimanding the employees in front of everyone. Her tone of voice, and demeanor were embarrassing and I'm sure the two male employees were probably embarrassed as well having to deal with that in front of other customers. She basically pushing out loud about how they need closers and if they couldn't she needed to find out why cause that was a problem and insinuated that they couldn't keep employees like that. This conversation could have been done when employees aren't there. She rang me up and then left me to talk to another customer, her male (older) employee had to jump in to complete the transaction. When I first walked in he immediately helped me find what I needed and even gave me recommendations on products. He had leaned against the register waiting for customers and she told him he can't be doing that. read more

As far as offline supplement shops go, Super Supplements is excellent. The staff at this location is very helpful without being overbearing- you can tell that they focus on this. Once upon a time I used to take supplements...and then I grew up and did some research. I don't take the stuff any more so this review is not about the main products they sell here. There is one thing I buy at SS - the ginger candy. It is an import and they have the best price on it in the area. Staff are available if you need them but as others have noted you aren't inundated by each and every staff member greeting you. Checkout is quick and efficient (remember your bags if you are purchasing a large number of items). They do have some teas that I might check out next time, which will be soon since I just opened my last bag. Note that parking is behind the store and the lot is a bit cramped. When you leave if you exit onto Sleater-Kenney prepare to wait for traffic to clear since it can be busy. read more

Good selection that is marked at each shelf. Pretty easy to navigate. Staff that was working didn't greet or ask me if i needed help finding anything. Which is normally good to not feel smothered by sales, but in my case I needed some help. The female staff just seemed to be chatting. I dont don't mind that, but there's a time and place. I absolutely love shopping at super supplements in Lacey! I am always greeted and asked if I need help when I enter. When I don't need help I am not constantly bothered by employees to buy things I'm not shopping for. The staff always gives me educated recommendations about new products I may not be as familiar with. Big chain of reasonably priced vitamins and supplements. I was in Olympia and knew the outlet in Kenmore would be closed so I stopped at this location. I must say the people here were oddly dressed and happier than I have come to expect. I can attribute the weird dress to coming in on Halloween though. On April 12, 2016, I visited Super Supplements store number 1007, in Olympia Washington. It is about my experience there and the company's failure to respond to my complaint that I post my complaint here and through other social media mediums. I am a Black man. I walked into the store a few steps behind another customer. The customer ahead of me was a White woman. Generally, the race of a customer is not germane; however, in this case, the reason my race and that of the customer ahead of me is important is because of the conduct of the employees in the store. When I walked into the store, a young female employee was one of the several employees behind the counter. This young lady was actually in the process of completing a transaction as she watched me enter the store. She made it a point to greet me by saying "hello." Initially, I thought she was greeting the White woman who had entered the store a few steps ahead of me, but I was wrong. As the employee said hello, naturally, I looked in her direction. She was looking directly at me. I was finishing a text message on my cell-phone, so I looked down again at my phone. She said hello again, then gave a slight wave with her right hand. I returned the greeting completed my text message and began to secure my cell-phone. What became clear after the greeting of by the store employee is that the greeting is are a form of code to other employees that a Black person has entered the store. I noticed a White male employee come from the area of the cash registers/counter. He walked directly to me and asked if he could help me find anything. This employee wore a name tag showing his name as "****," and his title as "Store Manager." It was at that point that I realized what was happening. The young White female employee did not greet the White customer who entered the store ahead of me. None of the store employees approached the White customer to ask if she needed assistance; rather, I was the focus of attention. Before jumping to conclusions, I decided that the employees were just trying to be nice. To test this theory, I told **** that I did not need any help. The expression on ****'s face and his actions after that led me to the conclusion that my instincts were right. The employees targeted me because I am Black. When I told **** that I did not need any help, rather than walking away or going to assist another customer, he because perplexed. He did not know how to respond so he said "okay," but just stood there. His face became speckled with red spots. After a moment, he walked to an aisle directly in my path and began the appearance of organizing the contents of a shelf in the aisle while watching me with his peripheral vision. Now I knew for certain I was the target of racial profiling. I walked down the aisle and noticed another customer in an aisle that branched off the main aisle in which I was walking. The customer looked as if she needed help as she looked up at me. I kept walking until I reached ****. Once I was next to ****, I walked back to the aisle where I had just seen the other customer, and I asked her if she had been helped. She said that she had not. I said okay, walked up to ****, who was within hearing distance of the other customer, and told him that there was a customer on the other side of the aisle that needed assistance. Josh blushed then walked over to help the customer. The customer, in fact, was in need assistance but she is White. She did not need to be watched! As **** helped the customer, I located another store employee and asked the location of the product I wanted. He was courteous, assisted me then went on his way. I noticed **** had finished helping the customer and was again near my location. I asked **** if he made it a point to watch the Black people that come into his store. He did not know what to say. He made a comment under his breath then turned and walked toward the back of the store. Shortly after this, another employee, White female, approached me and asked if I needed help. I asked if **** is her supervisor. She said that he was. I told her that I did not need help. I completed my shopping and went to the cash register. As I was paying for the items I wished to purchase, I asked if **** was around. The cashier said he thought **** was in the back office. I asked if he could get ****; I wanted **** to know that I was paying for my purchase. When **** arrived, he did so with another employee. I advised **** that I wanted to be certain that he knew that I paid for my purchase. I am nearly 60 years old. I was born in the United States and have lived here nearly my entire life. I spent a short stint in Europe as a child when my father served this country as part of the military. I too served in the military for this country. On April 15, 2016, I complained to the company's CEO. As of the date of this posting (May 18, 2016), the company has not responded. read more
