Irritated brows from lady who was rough

I went here to get my brows done here to later feel my skin completely irritated the lady who did my brows was So rough my skin bled & left my skin completely dry & red it burns

New policy, pay before you are serviced with polish.

I haven't been to this location in about 3 months to get my nails done, so today I decided to go after taking the day off. However, I was informed that the policy have changed and patrons have to pay for services before they are serviced I actually find this hard to believe, I felt I was discriminated against. I would love to hear from others that have frequented this place recently. When I asked the manager, she pointed out this sign (posted below) and said this is a new change since the holidays. Please reply as I am law suit ready.

My nails the horrible tech did

If there was an option for zero stars I would've chose it. Worst nail salon experience ever. I went there because of their late hours but I should've looked at the reviews. Went in at 7:45pm after calling and asking if it was fine to come, but when I got there one of the techs said, "we only do appointments but I'll take you" like hun...you not doing nobody a favor and that's not what you said on the phone. The same nail tech did my hands and feet and turned out horrible. I wanted to switch the color of the nails and she wanted to charge me $10 to take off the color even though the nails were not done. I hadn't even LEFT and we were literally trying to figure out a color but since it was late I guess she was impatient and just ready to be done. Anyways me and her got into it because my nails are atrocious. The price and hours are great, but the customer service is below subpar. I'll take myself to Q Nails II in New Carrollton they never disappoint !

I was not able to leave zero stars, that was the quality of service I receive. I had to go back to fix my pedicure and dip powder that was not done correctly. I was told that it was late and the older lady that did it could've been tired. The younger lady in the front left that seems to be in charge called herself doing a better job but only to rush through and have someone else to finish my nails because she had to step in to work on a customer that was not satisfied with that tech's service. She finished my nails and didn't speak English well. Two days later, they chipped and messed up. I went back and the young lady in charge said that she would have to charge me to fix it this time because they only fix once. I complained and expressed my dissatisfaction because I already did one service that was not done correctly and that's unfair and unacceptable to the customer. You do it as many time as necessary until you get it right! This was all within a week! This was my first time going there, went for convenience but never again. The customer service is horrible!

I have frequented this nail salon many times over the years. I started going again more regularly for about 8 months now. I even get services for my 5 year old. Needless to say I spend a lot of money here. About a month ago an older lady did my pedicure and did a horrible job polishing my toes. I requested her to do it again. It took 4 re-do's before it was right. However I still went back 2 more times. I just did not want her doing my pedicure. Well my last visit about 2 weeks ago Sarah did my nails. She did an amazing job. She went to do my eyebrows and did a HORRIBLE job. The wax was super hot. And someone else had to fix them. The next day I noticed a BURN UNDER MY EYEBROW. I went back and the manager questioned if they did it and began to tell me how to treat it. I requested a refund, not for the $78 I spent on all services, only for the $8 for my eyes. She reluctantly refunded me. Yesterday i went for a pedicure only. I was informed by the short haired girl at the desk that I was not going to receive any services because "the techs all feel like they can't satisfy you". To be clear THEY REFUSED ALL SERVICES FOR ME INDEFINITELY!!! After ONE TECH did a bad pedicure and another BURNED me. I only went here for the convenience. But they should show more humility and take each experience as a moment to learn. Not to then BAN ME from receiving services because of the inexperience of their techs. Thanks for banning me and refusing me services. I've found a wonderful new CLEAN and COURTEOUS salon!

Normally My daughter and I come every 2 weeks. And the service and atmosphere is great. But this particular morning, the tech was extremely pushy. This wasn't a relaxing time. So I couldn't give it a 5 star. I'll choose another tech, who I'm familiar with.

This is the worst service I have ever had here.

This is the worst ever she rushed my nails in 15 minutes and acted like it was okay. The manager did not want to deal with the issue, she also tried to man handle my cuticle beds. The lady sits up front near the register and is the seat closet to the side door. The mgr decided to fix them but she made so sharp i lightly scratched my arm and was left with these marks. DONT GO HERE - I am reporting them to the County

The one time I decide to "just stop in" and get a mani, turns into the biggest nail shop disappointment of my entire life. Seriously, I looked at my nails this afternoon and was like 'REALLY??' So, I decided to stop by a nearby nail shop and get it together. First, upon walking into the establishment, the workers entertained not a single greeting. No hi, how are you, what would you like...instead, a little lady yelled, "What chu want?" That should have been the first indicator to leave. Second, I sat down to a dirty towel and suspect equipment. I thought she might have changed the towel out when I got up, but she didn't bother. She did, however, clean the utensils before using them on my nails. The whole process of removing my cuticles took about 10-15mins and afterward, there were still pieces of dead skin around my nails. If that wasn't enough, she painted my nails as if she was a novice in this profession. There was nail polish on my skin and bubbles and ripples because she didn't thin the apparent OLD nail polish. Yea. Never again. Always Trust The Stars. This place should be shut down.

Originally painted a rose pink, the gel turned yellow overnight.

If I could give this "salon" zero stars, I would. I went in on Saturday night, December 17th, to get gel polish for my college graduation and acrylic tips for my daughter as a birthday gift. I love pink nail polish, so that was the color I chose. Overnight, my nails turned a hideous neon yellow. Because my graduation was in two days, I couldn't even go back to get them fixed. My nails looked hideous! On top of that, my daughter's tips started popping off within three days. Do not waste your time or money here -- a total waste.

This place is HORRIBLE! First, they want you to pay for a service before you can even receive it. Second, the work they do is piss poor. Your nails will be bulky, uneven, half painted, shape is inconsistent, half way on your skin/under your nail and your skin will be filed. Third, it doesn't seem like the most cleanest place. Fourth, the customer service isn't that great at all. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. They charge you $55 for a bs job that a 5 year old can do better. If you want quality work, this is not the place to go.

Nancy & her sister do pretty good. Nancy does mine. I wear my natural nails gel manicure & SNS is usually my thing. When my polish messes up or chips to soon. I call & Nancy fixes it right away without any problems. She does my eyebrows perfect. The customer service is good to. The music videos be on TV it's always good music.

I had Nancy do my nails today and the older lady to do my pedicure.Nancy did a great job but I felt like she rushed on my nails. They get pretty busy so it's best to go early. This was my first time getting my nails done here & I'd go back!

    Cindy L.

My favorite nail techs from Pro Day Nail and Spa, Sarah and Nancy are the new managers here. My nails always look great. The wait can be a bit long because of the foot traffic from the mall but it is well worth the wait. I drive from Silver Spring to get my nails done by them.

I let him know it was burning and suggested he lower the UV light that he used to set the gel. He mentioned that the light only had 1 setting and that he couldn't change it. As he continued, I suggested to move the heated UV lamp further away from my nail bed as the temperature and position he had it in was burning my nail bed. I mentioned this as a reminder several times. When I got home that evening, I had to take Tylenol and add ice to my nails to sooth the burning sensation. At this point, I was concerned because the burning radiated from my fingers up my arms. Went the at shop opened, I contacted Ken to let him know what happened. He had me come in to remove the gel. I also asked for compensation, at least a percentage of my money back or have him do dip set later. Jennifer told me they took the gel set off, and took time doing my nails, so there was no compensation or refund of any kind. I suggested to file an insurance claim as this was an injury due to a product they provided. She told me insurance will not pay for it and she didn't see whether I deserved a refund. I have never experienced this sort of hospitality or service at any nail salon. I came here as a referral from a coworker. While still getting familiar with this area, I thought this place would offer great service. If you are thinking of getting nails done at here, be aware because it's not about customer service it's more about money for them. I always wondered why fee for services changed often when I got the same thing each time. Hidden fees no consideration for how they treat their customers. Deluxe pedi and gel with 2 horrible nail designs totaled - $145 and still burning from lamp. Go someplace else. UPDATE: Several hours later, Jennifer, the owner, left me a voicemail asking me to call her back. I returned the call believing she might offer an apology, discount, or some form of resolution. Instead, the conversation focused on my review and why I had posted it. She reiterated that because I chose the service, I was not entitled to any compensation. When I suggested continuing the discussion after she finished with her customer, she declined and continued explaining why she would not provide a refund, discount, or credit. This entire experience was disappointing. Mistakes and adverse reactions can happen, but what stood out to me was being told, "I'm not going to argue with you," when I was simply expressing surprise and concern about what had happened. I was not arguing at all, and the comment felt dismissive. I was left wondering whether I was being treated differently, possibly because I am an African American woman. Regardless of the reason, I did not feel heard or respected during the conversation. Reactions can happen, but how a business responds to a customer who has been injured or harmed by a service says a lot about its values. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed, blamed, and left without any Potential customers should be aware of my experience and make their own informed decision. Wow

A few weeks before they sold the business, I had decided I was never coming back, after going to them for almost a decade. I was a loyal customer who always booked one of the most expensive pedicures, yet the last three pedicures I had, they rushed through them. The last one I got in July was only 20 minutes long after my nail tech's next client came in early. People getting regular pedicures at the same time next to me were still going when I was finished. When I complained, I was told I was wrong by Tina for a complaining. I just want to be clear this was the third time it happened in several months -- I told her that -- and she dismissed it and loudly said I was wrong. Honestly I said I would never go back to them. But when I saw Ivy had changed hands, I came back with cautious optimism today. I am so glad I did. I booked the Ivy Special for $80 with Nina and it was wonderful. She worked on me for a full hour with strong and skillful hands. The service included a soak, massage, mask, hot stones, and then more massage. It was absolute bliss. I will hands down go back to the new Ivy's and will recommend you give them a shot. The salon itself is clean and professional. The pedicure chair tubs still have protective bag coverings that are switched out between clients, and all tools come sterilized in sealed bags. The care and attention to detail are clear. If you had written Ivy Nails off in the past, give them another try. The new owners have completely turned it around. Ask for Nina, she is fantastic.
