My lawn is turning out great!! Use lawn coach, it works incredibly well. I've used other companies that just spray and spread fertilizer and it's not good. They customize the plan to your lawn and what a difference it makes. read more

Have been a very satisfied Super Sod customer for many years and my yard looks great. Recently picked-up four pallets of fescue over the past month. I am fairly diligent about soil preparation before installing because that is critical to sustainability. Three of the pallets worked out nicely and it nicely and took very quick. One clearly was not a good batch. Sod was crumbly, dry, and fell apart when installing and is about dead now.. Called customer service this morning to place another order and find out if there was anything that could be done and it felt like I was on trial. Essentially Super Sod was looking for any excuse to to blame it on me. Told me nothing could be done. Over the past several years I have spent thousands of dollars with Super Sod and I will still do business (Reluctantly) with this organization but disappointed in the response. Given what I spent, the referrals to friends and family to to buy from Super Sod and not to make good on what clearly is a bad batch does not make sense or is in my opinion good business. Referrals stop today...buyer beware. read more

Within hours of me posting the review a gentlemen gave me a call and said they were the GM of SuperSod in Pineville. It was clear that there was some break down of communication maybe somewhere down the line. The bags were switched first thing in the morning with the correct leveling mix. Both materials that they do sell, The Garden Soil and Leveling Mix are definately high end material, after apply both you can tell my grass has came in thicker and fuller. I updated the review with 3 stars because I can't promise I would use Super Sod for next year or moving forward. It wasn't the best of experiences, enough to earn 5 stars anyways. I do have some disappoitment because I did have my lawn aerated prior to me recieving the leveling mix that wasn't leveling mix. By the time I recieved the correct material the holes were already filled in. The 2nd disappoitment, I am not going to lie, I would have thought to recieve some type of refund. Obviously not the whole order but maybe one bag. After all we wasted over two weeks of my time and I ended up with an HOA violation. All n All, time to close the book on this one. read more

First time sod user with a small project. After having several questions answered, was told I needed a specific type of grass. Not available until mid April (two weeks away). I call again in mid April and they say it isn't ready for two more weeks and whoever told me it was available in mid April "didn't know what they were talking about". Call the first Friday in May, and was told that "this Saturday is sold out" and I need to preorder the next available time I have: May 15. I then get a call on May 12 saying that they sold my preorder and I need to wait until mid July. Recently moved here and glad to find out the lack of dependability this company encompasses with this small job. I would never think to use them for anything in the future. read more

Inconsistency- ordered 1 pallet that was dried out and falling apart (7/15). Had to try to lay it in pieces and most of it died. I ordered two more pallets which were slightly better (8/1). Ordered 2 more pallets (8/3) which were MUCH better (on a Wednesday). The following week I ordered another pallet and thought it would be better if I waited for Wednesday, but I just picked it up and it's the worse of all. It's falling apart before I can even get it down. Very disappointed and I have a party in 3 days. I purchase 6 pallets ($1830) in a 1 month period and only 2 good pallets. Update: the manager called and came out to take a look. His legitimate concern was refreshing and we will be meeting again in a month to correct this. The review will be updated again if everything is corrected. Raising to 3 stars based on manager concern/dedication. read more

I've gotten sod and soil from super sod and the people are fantastic. However, I bought yellow bags of the veggie mix this spring and, based off the description, thought I was well on my way to a lovely garden. Nothing thrived. Chalked it up to my green thumb, or lack thereof. Got discouraged and ended up not using almost an entire bag of the veggie mix. In the meantime, it sat beside a bag of leveling soil, also from Supersod. We've used about 2/3 of that bag to level the backyard. The leveling sand bag has weeds growing out of because we've left the bag sit out and didn't use all of it. That's fine. But I noticed not one thing growing out of the veggie mix bag, also open, right beside it. Not one thing. Not a weed, a plant. No bugs, no ants. And so I thought "is that soil bad?" So I read reviews. Like real reviews. Turns out they've had a quality problem with it. They found an herbicide or something. Years ago. But apparently they've not corrected the problem. Anyone else experience this? I know I can't be the only one who thinks it's weird that not even a weed will grow in this stuff read more

This is a driver complaint. Driver delivered a large flatbed load of sod into the Verdict Ridge development in Denver, NC using a narrow entrance that was clearly marked for NO Construction traffic. Driver was informed by a member of the HOA, refused to give his name and left using the same entrance when multiple other safe exits were available for use. Poor business, poor safety! Do not employ! read more

I found the sales team to be very helpful and knowledgeable. For anyone out there in the Charlotte area looking to sod your yard I urge you to consider going with Zeon Zoysia. I put it in 2 years ago and since then 3 of my neighbors did the same. It is a much better option than fescue in this part of the country. read more

I have previously bought small quantities of Zoysia sod from Super Sod as my yard is small. Usually they have been diligent about putting plastic down in my car before they put the sod in. The last time, I sent my husband to pick up the sod and he came home with sod in the car without plastic. I also bought a yellow bag of compost that had standing water in it and it looked to be the consistency of mud. It was impossible to spread and the sod had to be put down immediately. My husband picked up the sod on Friday and I called on Saturday to let them know that the compost was impossible to spread and was told to send pictures...which I did. Melonie, the call operator, said she would get back to me on Monday. It is now Wednesday and I haven't heard anything. I called them back today. Melonie told me that she didn't receive the pictures even though I called her right after I sent them and she acknowledged that she had received them. Then....miraculously she found them but said I would have to bring the bag back to the store even though I live an an hour away...two hours both ways. She blamed my husband for not paying attention to Super Sod staff loading the sod into the trunk without the plastic. Shouldn't that be the job of the staff not to load dirty sod into the trunk of a car?( I had told my husband not to worry that they would put plastic down and he believed that) He didn't realize what had happened until he unload it when he got home and his trunk was a complete mess. Melonie said someone from the office would call me and as of yet, I haven't heard from anyone. They don't appear to be very concerned about customer satisfaction. read more

I'm conflicted--we were happy with Supersod's product and service, and Steven is great. However, the installer they connected us to (Brooks Nursery) has been utterly atrocious. We have a large home with a lot of upkeep. Have had dozens of contractors of various types over the years. Brooks Nursery was the absolute worst. Adding insult to injury, they (Sandra with Brooks) then threatened legal action if we posted a negative review! read more

Easy to order and pick up sod. Courtesy and professional staff both over the phone and in-person. Product was good quality. They loaded the sod, tried to keep dirt and mess to a minimal since they were loading in a car. I would highly recommend. read more

terrible customer service. was told they won't schedule my delivery until they have another order in the area that is paying for delivery. any time up to 2 weeks. fair enough if I was rural or far away, but I'm only 5 minutes from this place. refuse to talk to "scheduling". told me to wait for an unknown time frame. of coarse they have already taken my money. read more

The sod I received from Super Sod was in very good condition and when installed, it looked great for a little while. However, the company they recommended to me to install the sod and additional irrigation was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor to date. And I've flipped my share of houses so I've dealt with many contractors. There is not enough space to adequately describe my frustration, disappointment, loss of money and headache to have to redo my entire yard. If you purchase from Super Sod, please do not follow their recommendations for Brooks Nursery. Find your own landscape contractor. I, personally, will never do business with either one of them again. read more

I have owned and operated a successful and award-winning construction and landscaping business for over 20 years in the Charlotte, NC area. I have used Super Sod on and off over those 20 years. Utilizing my experiences with this company for over 20 years, the best way that I know to describe this company is they have a box store customer service mentality, the quality of their product is hit or miss, they appear to charge the highest price in the area for their product, and (in my experiences over the years and on multiple occasions) appeared to act in an unfair and deceptive manor by charging me for 500 SF/pallet when in fact they only provided me with 450-480 SF per pallet. Apparently, (in my view) they must realize that most of their customers do not actually take the time to measure the sod that they are buying from them and so when you figure how many pallets they are selling and how much they are charging per square foot, it would add up to a pretty significant boost to their profit margins (that's my best guess). When I have brought these concerns to the employees and management, they have not denied the allegations, but simply dismissed them. The most I ever got them to offer was a refund on the exact amount of sod that was proven to be missing from the pallet (which is pretty tough if you plan to install it within the few days that it takes them to come out and verify). I even had an experience with them once in which they not only shorted me on the quantity of sod that I ordered and paid for, but they had mowed it right before they farmed it and sold it to me which hid the fact that it was infested with poa annua (annual bluegrass). For those of you that do not know, it is a noxious weed that is hard to kill without damaging the new sod and it grows 3 times faster than fescue, so when not freshly mowed, it really stands-out and looks bad. Long story short, we had to rip-up a large portion of the sod a week after it had been installed, and after a Super Sod representative assured me that they would "make things right", they stiffed me and left me stuck with paying for all the labor to fix an issue that I am confident that they knew about and tried to cover up. If you wish to do business with this organization and the employees that seem to boldly defend their actions, I can only offer one thing to say...caveat emptor (buyer beware). read more
