I find it unbelievable that a nursery in the business of shipping plants online would not package their plants so that when shipped the soil and plants are not falling out of the container and wilted. I've tried contacting the company for them to make ie right and they simply refuse. "Buyer Beware" when purchasing from this company. I ordered 6 Russian Sage plants from Creekside Nursery, hoping for healthy, vigorous specimens suitable for my high-elevation Zone 4a garden in rural Idaho. The plants arrived after 3 PM on Friday, July 3rd. I opened the box immediately and was disappointed to find one plant clearly damaged (broken stems and crushed foliage) and the remaining five in only fair to poor condition--wilted, stressed, and showing signs of rough handling during shipping. Because I had family company arriving for the 4th of July holiday weekend, I was unable to take and send detailed photos within their strict 24-hour claim window. I emailed them today (Monday, July 6th) with a full explanation of the circumstances, photos of the damaged plant, and a polite request to replace just the one severely damaged plant. Unfortunately, they refused to make any exception to their policy. While I understand businesses need policies to protect against abuse, a rigid 24-hour window with no flexibility for a legitimate holiday-weekend delivery--especially when the damage was noticed immediately upon opening--feels overly punitive. The quality of the plants themselves was also subpar compared to what I expected for the price. I've had better experiences with other mail-order nurseries that show more customer-friendly flexibility during busy holiday periods. I won't be ordering from Creekside Nursery again. We ordered under my husband's name, Paul Wright. This is not a false comment or review. We are return customers from last year that wanted to give Creekside a break because last year their property flooded so we calked the plant quality and timeliness up to the flood. I notice that anytime Jerry reads a negative comment he claims it is mean spirited or false. I believe this company has overextended their ability to fill all of their orders. It might be ok if you go in person and pick out your plants but I wouldn't advise online purchases. Although my plants arrived in quart containers the root systems took up only about 20% of the containers. The soil was loose and dry as a bone and all over inside the box. They don't wrap the container in plastic like most nurseries do when shipping to keep the soil moist and inside of the pot. The plants themselves were dry but not dead and very small. Some had broken branches. I have bought the same plants locally for $3 more and they were at least 5x bigger with enormous root systems starting to grow through the bottoms of the pots. So, if you live near this nursery and can choose your own plants you might be ok but don't buy on line. You can do much, much better anywhere else. I ordered when there was still snow on the ground and nothing was available yet locally and my green thumb was starting to itch. My bad. Next time I'll just wait and shop locally. read more

I want to say how disappointed we were with the plants we received. I paid a lot more than normal for annuals. I expected much larger plants for the price. We typically buy from Lowe's, Home Depot or Walmart. The plants there are MUCH LARGER & MUCH CHEAPER. More than 1/2. The quality is not good, in my opinion. These are ANNUALS! Order on May 4th and still hadn't received by the 28th. Sale noted economy shipping and I reviewed all the shipping estimates of 5-8 days. On May 29th I emailed them to inquire about my order. No response of an apology about the delay or their oversight but all of a sudden a shipping label was created and I got my item in June 3rd. Almost one month To get a small box of nothing extraordinary. I wouldn't purchase again. I don't think I would have gotten my order if I did t prompt a reminder. read more

I purchased 2 annual plants for a friend of mine that's like a Mom to me and one of them did not bloom this year. She is so heartbroken. I contacted the nursery for a replacement but they said replacements are not given from them. They stated that many things could cause it to die. They were expensive plants. Make sure to ask for replacement possibilities or refund pricing or you may be wasting your money. I hope they have much success but I will never recommend this nursery to my family and friends. read more

I decided to try some Proven Winners annuals from Creekside Nursery even though they are expensive at $10 a plant. My online order came to $155.53, not a small amount for a single and very ill homebound lady of 81 years old whose main pleasure is trying to do a little gardening. I live in the Gulf coast of Florida and was probably one of the first to experience receiving one of their new online shipments. The plants I received on March 9th. were pitiful and looked like the plugs/liners that they receive to grow to a size suitable for selling retail. The soil in the containers was so wet that it was still very wet when I threw away the first plants that died (from root rot) at the end of March. I immediately contacted Creekside and was told someone had sent out the wrong plants by mistake and that they would be replaced. I told them I didn't expect to have to grow the plants out myself before I could plant them. On April 2, I also sent some photos of the plants taken the day they arrived including a photo of some that had already died. In response to the April 2 email, Creekside wrote, " Hello Ms. Hopkins, We apologize greatly for the condition that you received your plants. We will send you some replacements before the week is over. We greatly thank you for being kind and considerate. We would like to provide you a free plant when we send the three replacements. Do you have any particular annuals you are wanting to try out? " On April 4, I gave them the name of a plant I would like to try and reminded them that I did not receive one of my plants with the March 9 order. I received that missing plant a few days later. On April 17, I STILL have not received the replacements for my March 9th order and I wrote another email as they do not answer their contact phone number. A recording tells you to contact them concerning orders by email. I asked them to let me know when I could expect my plants. As I write this, it is April 21 and I still have not received an answer. I tried to leave reviews for some of the plants and post photos on their website. Apparently, they have blocked my photos and reviews even though they requested them. I am posting the photos I sent Creekside taken on the day they arrived. You can judge for yourself if these are the quality of Proven Winners plants you would have expected. Just check out their Youtube promotional tours of the plants they sell to their local retail customers that are mature and fully rooted to see the difference in what those plants should have looked like. read more

I watch their show faithfully on YouTube, so I decided to order from them as well. I wanted some vermillionaire and another plant. I was saddened that the plants were so tiny that they are still not in bloom. I had looked forward to watching the hummingbirds drink from them, but no luck yet. I wouldn't care so much if they weren't an annual. I'll still watch on YouTube, but I won't order again. Update: The vermillionaire is now quite large and has some blooms on it. Liked Jenny's YouTube videos, so placed a Proven Winners order with Creekside Nursery in the amount of $187.05 on 2/25/2024. Received my order on 3/25/2024. It was complete with the exception of a Heuchera Wildberry. Handwritten on my packing slip was the notation, "will ship at a later date". Having heard nothing for two weeks, called. I was informed that the plant would be shipped "soon". Phone messages were no longer being accepted by their phone system so I continued to follow up by emails. One time, I did get a response from Charlotte acknowledging the oversight and stated a she would get a plant sent out. Also that I should understand that they are a "small family business without a large staff". A few more weeks passed, still no plant. Then, the flood occurred. Received an automatic response that orders would be "delayed". More weeks pass, YouTube videos show the nursery is back up and running. I am receiving emails promoting their nursery's plants. I presume if they're soliciting more sales, that their operations are fully functional. Still no plant and no responses to any of my email inquiries. May 22, 2024 emailed that it would likely be easier for them to simply refund the cost of the non-delivered plant and would they please issue a refund. Received "automatic" response stating, I could expect a response in 5 business days. June 7, 2024 contacted my credit card company, explained the situation and a refund for $15.19 was made to my account. Any of you who watch the YouTube videos know it's emphasized that a good REASON to purchase from them is that they are a "family business who appreciates the support". Yet, they will also use being a "small family business without a large staff" as an EXCUSE for not being able to deliver an order in its entirety. There is very little customer service which is sad because it would be great to support a family business. It is less about the actual cost of the missing plant as it is, that assurances are given but then your pending, paid for order falls into a very deep crack in their system never to surface again. It seems like the real priority is to make feel-good YouTube videos. To correct their continued oversights, my credit card company had to intervene. I have found it far better to order from Proven Winners Direct. There are ongoing promotions and discounts with free shipping for qualifying orders. read more

I'm a recovering black thumb...first and foremost. Recently I have decided to accept the challenge of turning my black thumb GREEN! As many do, I started watching YouTube and the suggestion of following people who are in the same growing zone was suggested by Roots and Refuge...so I Did the search and Jenny with Creekside Nursery popped up. I watched for many months and then decided to get our first visit in place, I was very nervous but when an associate greeted me with a big smile and was eager to show me that i could succeed... I knew that this was the place to put my fear away. We ended up leaving with lots of plants for a corner of a sunny hill on our property. Jerry even suggested Root Tone so they would have the best start in their new home. We are several months after our purchase here and it's winter season now. The great news is the evergreens are STILL ALIVE! I can't wait for the dormant plants to wake up...Yes...they are still alive! I did the bend test! Creekside Nursery is the reason for my success! With Jenny's videos...the associates smile, kind words, and plant suggestions...and Jerry's failsafe start...I can now say that I am becoming more confident in my black thumb recovery! Went to Creekside on Saturday after being referred to them by Stowe's Nursery. It was rather busy and we patiently waited our turn to speak to Christine to set up an appointment for an on-site landscape design. Christine and I decided on the following Wednesday afternoon and as we were finalizing plans the owner interrupted our conversation and told Christine she needed to speak with another customer because they were getting ready to leave. He totally dismissed us and wanted her to move on. I know they were busy but we had waited our turn and expected the same consideration previous customers had received. After waiting for Wednesday to arrive and planning our day accordingly we were very disappointed when Christine was a no show. I called on Thursday to inquire if there had been a miscommunication and was was told by Christine that they are now doing landscape design virtually because it was taking too much of her time away from the nursery. I understand policies change but I think commitments that have already been made need to be honored and then put the policy in place. Also, I had left all my info (name, cell number, email address and physical address and nobody bothered to contact us to advise they would not be there on Wednesday. Christine apologized and took responsibility for no one notifying us about this new policy, but needless to say, we will go elsewhere for plants as well as a landscape design. read more
