Some tree branches were overhanging my roof, so I wanted to make sure someone with insurance and plenty of experience did the job. I spoke to the Property Officer when he returned my call within a few minutes and he resolved to my estimate request in less than 2 hours and gave me a reasonable estimate right away and said he could perform the job the next day. I had 4 trees cut down and pushed into the nearby wooded are, and some landscape management ; he had a Bobcat and essentially plowed all the small growth away from the tree line, about 30 feet in. Some smaller trees were removed in the process and many stumps were also cut down at ground level. All this work was done professionally and completed in less than 2 1/2 hours. Spaulding Tree Service hastily performed tree removal work for my neighbor. (We did not hire this company and gave no consent for Spaulding Tree Service to damage our property.) The crew cut corners, dropping branches dangerously from significant heights above ground, in an effort to finish work on a Friday afternoon as quickly as possible. The unsafe work caused damage to our property, which I notified the Owner about. Spaulding Tree Service refused to take responsibility for their actions and stated 'our property would be collateral damage to the tree removal' project. In addition, Spaulding Tree Service left without cleaning up their mess. We had several issues with trees to be cut, cleared, stumps ground and shrubs trimmed. We hired Spaulding and did not like any of the work they did. They did not clear the mess they made, leaving broken branches on the ground, hanging from our pine trees, and in our fence. We asked to have wood chipped and put under a row of pine trees. They shot the chunks of the branches into the trees a good 4ft. Up., breaking many branches and buried a bunch too! They also forgot to chip up some stuff and they dumped them in our neighbors yard! Who does that!? We had to apologize to her and promised to clean up the mess they left! They worked in record speed and did a terrible job. Very unprofessional. They butchered our shrubs too btw. Did not deliver as promised. Never communicated payment methods but expected cash or check half way through the job. Quality of work showed through pictures sent when asking for full payment half way through the job. When payment wasn't sent until later that day it was evident they stopped working but said the job was complete. For years we've been stressing over a large (~70 foot) Sweet Gum tree in our backyard. We were fairly sure it was diseased and feared that a good storm would bring its limbs down onto our roof. After deciding to do some work in our yard that would benefit from having the tree removed ahead of time, I reached out to a few tree removal services for estimates on taking down the tree. Spaulding beat the lowest estimate I had received by $200 and thus we booked them to come out and do the work. Even though their larger dump truck was in service, they booked an appointment just a few days later to come and complete the service, using alternatives for hauling everything away. Brock and his team were great to work with. They arrived as scheduled and immediately got to work. After watching our neighbor's have a tree removed a few years ago, and having damage to their shed as a result of a fallen branch, I watched every minute of the ~3-hour process to make sure everything was safe. It was frankly fascinating to watch this team work. They did an amazing job of making sure every branch, limb and log that fell, fell safely away from our fence (our biggest concern). They did have quite a few land on some very old railroad ties we were using as a sort of retaining wall but, they weren't of concern and frankly there would've been no way to avoid them. Once the tree was down, it became very apparent that our concerns regarding disease were correct as every log showed signs of it from top to bottom. After the tree was down and all the wood removed from the yard, they took the time to blow everything out so our lawn wasn't littered with branches and leaves etc. They even scooped up the remaining piles of smaller items, and saw dust, and hauled it away as well. While the overall cost to have this tree removed was way more than I expected, I feel the amount I paid to have this company complete the work was more than fair given the time and attention they gave to making sure it was done safely. Should we ever have need of a tree removal in the future, I will not hesitate to call on Spaulding once again. read more
