I had two chorizo and egg breakfast tacos with beans and rice, my wife had taquitos. Great seating on the rail to watch the people come and go. We ate at Dory's Deli, next door, but they were working on their kitchen so they were using food from this place. My son got a quesadilla, my husband got the Cali burrito, and I got the bean and cheese burrito with extra cheese and with rice. It was delish! It has been my favorite burrito that I have been able to find while being in OC. We would definitely get food from here again. They have open seating with view to the street and TVs. It is a very casual ambiance and they had breakfast and lunch items available in the morning. A yummy spot right next to the beach. This visit to Super Panga I did a takeout order. I was tended to quickly but efficiently. The girls working there were very nice. But now for the food I ordered a seafood burrito with the blackened shrimp and it was delicious. Our friend brought us to Super Panga. She said she liked to come here after work to relax while sitting towards the water people watching with a tasty meal!! This small restaurant gets crowded quickly. As you enter the door, that's where you order your meal and pay before finding a seat. They will hand you a number and bring your order to your table. We ended up sitting towards the back. It was nice to chat with a meal knowing no one will be passing you by like if we were sitting towards the front area. After we paid and sat down, several other people were trying to come into the restaurant, but were turned away- they said that they were closing. In short, this was an amazing beach front casual dining experience. Imagine if a pop-up margarita bar and a taco truck backed up to the beach and that's essentially what you've got at Super Panga. It's a simple menu with taco truck staples like tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. They offer "land" and "sea" protein selections which gives it some variety and stamps as thoroughly "beachy." The young lady working the register and bar was energetic, helpful, and quick. The food itself was the star of the show, however. The California burrito was simply the best of its kind I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned carne asada, crispy fries, queso, guacamole, cilantro and onions. Simple recipe executed flawlessly. Could have eaten two, and I may well go back before heading back north. The birria taco was made right, with a cheese crust that a lactose-intolerant person might literally die for. The shredded beef was a bit sweet for my liking (though that is the way it is supposed to be made) but the wife loved it. The pollo taco was as it should be: never the star of the show, but a sound role player to round out the taco plate. The drinks were superb as well. A margarita is easy to make but hard to perfect and Super Panga has it down to equal parts art and science. I will definitely be coming back. read more
