Ordered a London Fog to go with it and headed back to my hotel. The service was so welcoming and friendly and her suggestion was spot on. I will not forget that passionfruit mousse ever. Dusted with grated chocolate, it was so rich and creamy, had this subtle caramel-like tone, and yet the passionfruit powered through. Every bite was a true delight. If you are a passionfruit fan you will want to lick the container so you don't miss a morsel. I did not, but definitely wanted to! They add lavender and honey to their London Fog tea which was delicious. I will definitely go back when I next visit GP.

The butter sauce, which also had lots of chopped tomatoes, pretty much covered the shrimp and then some. This makes sense because besides not being prawns, the shrimp was rubbery and tasteless. I don't understand why I wasn't told that there were no prawns today, to see if I wanted to order something else instead. In retrospect, I should have returned the dish but our server (Beau) was so nice that I just didn't have the heart to do so. I decided to get a to-go container, thinking, I dunno, maybe the butter sauce would season the shrimp and it would taste better in a few hours. I ended up leaving the shrimp behind instead. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Truly delicious. I like to think of myself as a cioppino snob as it is one of my favorite meals and I've had it at restaurants all over the world. I must say Carson's recipe is superb. His broth has subtle flavors of tarragon and fennel. He adds sole, blue crab and shrimp for the protein. It's truly outstanding and one the best I've had. Jolie is not only the hostess, but also the waitress and pastry chef. She's charming and really fun to talk to. She let us sample some of the full-bodied red wines as well as a nice Petite Syrah. She also enticed us to try her peanut butter shortbread dessert. It melted in your mouth. The restaurant decor is charming and cozy. It makes for a very intimate setting and Jolie and Carson makes it feel like your having dinner with good friends. Still the best restaurant in Grants Pass.
