Yesterday afternoon, I found myself with time to kill and a hunger for tacos. My friend who lives in Goshen recommended I stop by Jimmy Changas. Knowing I was having lunch alone, a takeaway establishment was my preferred option. I parked directly out front and was greeted with an abundance of mouthwatering aromas as I exited my car. Immediately, I thought to myself, in the words of David Byrne, "This must be the place." I walked in through the front screen door, and was given the option of ordering from the specialized lunch menu or form their regular items. I chose the fish tacos platter authentic style, and a bottle of sweet jarritos. For 3 decent sized tacos, delicious fresh battered fish, refried beans, yellow rice, a cup of the hot sauce, and the soda, I paid $10.26. So. Worth. It. I sat out front beneath the final sunny afternoon of a long summer, and chowed down on some of the best fish tacos I've ever had locally. My only suggestion for the food may be to add a little more season in to the fish, though it's flakiness almost made up for that completely. I just kept feeling it needed more lime or lemon, but that's just me! My only complaint about the establishment is that it is tight and very warm inside. Given, it is a takeaway restaurant, but on a crowded day it must be miserable for both employees and customers. If you're looking for a quick, and super delicious meal that boasts fresh ingredients and authenticity, look no further than Jimmy Changas. But if you're parking, just pay the meter because the cops are ticket hungry around there. read more

Just ordered take out from here for the first time ever-- Delicious! The carnitas and fish tacos (authentic style) are delicious and perfectly seasoned. The hot sauce/salsa that comes with it has a real kick and with the lime complements the carnitas and the fish very well. I'm downgrading one star because the guacamole on top of the chimichangas tasted *just a little* off, or maybe it's made in large batches at the beginning of the day, or maybe the avocados used were simply overripe? We will return, and when we do I've got my eye on the tortas, the shrimp chimichanga (but I'll hold the beans and guac), and of course I will definitely be ordering more tacos-- the fish tacos definitely, and I'm looking forward to trying the carne asada. read more

Jimmy Changas is quite literally, a shack in the heart of Goshen, NY. It offers no interior seating or delivery service, but it does provide some of the best Mexican I've ever had. A place like Jimmy Changas is something you can get excited about, because where it lacks in traditional restaurant amenities, it more than makes up for in flavor and value. Jimmy Changas offers a $6 lunch special (at the time of writing this review) that comes with a main dish (chimichanga, tacos, etc) and a soda. Considering the size of the portion, it is well worth the money, and the drive from wherever you might be located. Although the pictures I posted were not of the lunch special variety, I have had the chimichanga special before, and it was fantastic. It came with heaps of sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole on top of the chimi itself, and was more than filling for a lunch meal, even for someone who constantly worries about portion size when ordering lunch. As for the pork tacos in the picture, they were quite addicting. Luckily, my order came with four pieces. The taco itself was grilled right in front of me, comprising two tortilla rounds per taco, which offered an adequate amount of grip for hurling the delicious combo of pork, cilantro, pico de gallo, and onions into my mouth. The only gripe I have is that although they were freshly grilled, the tortillas became somewhat chewy by the time I brought them back to my desk 10 minutes away. Blame the steam from the hot food trapped inside the to-go container. But hey, that's the price you have to pay when dealing with a takeout joint. Overall, I think Jimmy Changas is a place tourists would pass right by if they were visiting town, judging this "book" by its cover. When upon further inspection, Jimmy's is one of the more authentic "restuarants" I've ever been to. Don't take my word for it, visit the place yourself. read more

Super Nacho was not super. I recently i had a excellent nacho experience at a local bar and had the taste for more. I was excited when I saw there was a restaurant called super nacho. I thought: this place has to be good, if not super??! Super is was not. The restaurant is very small, almost surprisingly so. All seating is located outside of the restaurant. The owners/workers are very warm and friendly. The food was disappointing. I got a taco and nachos and I was underwhelmed. It wasn't cheesy, and nothing stood out. The taco was just passable. I have gotten taken out twice from here already. I will say they are very consistent with cooking and taste. I have now gotten pork, shrimp and steak chimichanga. My favorite over all is the shrimp one although the pork chimichanga was very good close first! I got chicken, fish and pork tacos. The fish is delish definitely placing first. I didn't like the chicken not that it was horrible but not my favorite. The pork tacos are a bit dry but not terribly bad. You can choose between two style tacos gringo and authentic! I tried both and they are both great! You can order through their website and then they call you to confirm. They're very sweet and have the food ready quickly! I wanted to try this place for a while and finally went for a late lunch. Walked in and the area was aesthetically pleasing but that's as good as it gets - we were the only ones there. A young waitress approached with menus - very nice but nervous to the point, it was awkward. Looked at the menu and we were surprised to see you pay for chips and salsa but we ordered it anyhow, who doesn't love authentic chips and salsa - what a disappointment. Chips tasted like they were pre packaged and the salsa out of a jar, I was shocked so much I had to check reviews and saw other customers had the same complaint as us but the owner commented that everything is made in house and why should they give it away for free! My husband got the mushroom taco which were $9, had to pay an extra $2.50 for a tiny portion of rice/beans. Tacos were tasty but very small. I got the Botana Platter which was loaded with another serving of the chips, cheese taquitos were ok, gringas were funny tasting, left most of the plate-very disappointing. Really had high hopes for this place, maybe it was an off day but unfortunately will not be returning to find out. read more

Horrible Experience I hope this review guides you in deciding whether you chose to go to a restaurant where you will be disrespected as a long time (now former) customer. For several years, my family has supported Super Nacho (formerly Jimmy Changas) because the food was pretty good, local and the owner and his family were nice. However, today overshadowed all past experiences and prompted me to immediately write this review regarding Super Nacho in Goshen, NY. I placed an order over the phone and repeated it more than two times to the young lady as she repeated it back to me (3 Taco salads with chicken and no cucumbers, 1 salad with no chicken and no cucumbers) for a total of 4 salads, a bag of nachos and she asked if I wanted salsa and I replied yes. No big deal. Upon arrival I paid without receiving an itemized receipt (which is normal for this restaurant) but if they had itemized receipts it would have prevented the next horrifying, condescending, confrontational events as the incorrect order would have noted on the receipt. Due to the order not being ready after calling it in at 7:30 PM and was told it should be about 20 minutes and the order completing at 8:05 PM, it was brought out to my car. Nice gesture, but this will be where all the pleasantries ends. Prior to me pulling off I opened the bag and counted 3 salads and not 4. I immediately called the restaurant back and noted the error to the same young lady who stated, "that is what you ordered as I repeated your order back to you". I advised her that it is not correct and repeated my order once again. She became upset, confrontational and was adamant I was wrong and when I told her I would come in and speak with the owner because her tone was not respectful of me being a customer...let me just leave the part out with what she said next and then she proceeded to hang up the phone. In my experience whether you are shopping online, ordering food, ordering a new cell phone, etc and proceed to identify something wrong with your order most companies and/or restaurants attempt to rectify the error to ensure their returning customers are satisfied and remain patrons. You do not accost them, berate them, immediately become defensive and confrontational. It did not stop there; allow your children (in this case the owners daughter) to engage in an augmentative manner defending the error. This was not a fight where you gang up on your customer when they are bringing something to your attention. During these very trying times my family and I believe in supporting small and local businesses. We believe most families living in small towns and rural areas like to keep their small businesses around. I will NEVER purchase anything from Super Nacho again and will share this horrifying experience on every media platform. As I mentioned to the owner, if I were wrong, I would have apologized and asked to have this resolved as that is how I was raised, to always be respectful of others. But you will never disrespect me nor have your daughter speak to me as a customer the way both of you did. If you were having a bad day you should not have interacted with the customers and had your wife speak. What you ended up demonstrating for your young employees including your daughter is they could never be in the wrong and that the customer is always wrong. There is a greater trust developed and camaraderie formed between consumers and small business owners when local patrons continuously purchase goods and/or services from you. This place lives up to its name. The food is "super" delicious. It's a mom and pop shop that serves up the best authentic Mexican cuisine in Goshen. The only downside is it's really tiny, so there's nowhere to sit and eat. The fish tacos(pictured) are my favorite! If you do decide to eat here, you won't regret it. read more

I'm so sorry that I didn't try this place sooner. I'm now addicted to the chicken quesadillas. And I am NOT a quesadilla person. I always thought they were pretty boring. But this chicken... Ugh! It's from a whole other world. Any chicken you've had before can not COMPARE to this chicken. It's soft and sweet and juicy. Omg, if you treat yourself to anything this year, drop ten bucks on the chicken quesadillas, here. And don't wait. It's great to see a taco stand like this in the North East. These types of places are everywhere in the southwest. A small walk-in eatery that uses fresh ingredients and churns out great tasting Mexican fast food. We've driven by this place a ton of times and we recently finally stopped in for lunch. DW had one of the daily specials, Grilled Portabello Sandwich, I went with a Chicken Burrito and DD had a cheese quesadilla. All of the food was made fresh on the spot. Quick review for ONLY the Tacos at Super Nacho! I went there to try a take-out ground beef taco platter on Thursday. I must say that I enjoyed it enough that I had to go back the next day on Friday to order the same exact platter again. Again, I enjoyed my taco platter dinner for Friday night with a few cold ones!!! Pretty darn tasty if you ask me! I even complimented everybody there, which they seemed to appreciate and thanked me. The young girl (daughter maybe) is very friendly as is the gentleman behind the counter (father maybe) doing the cooking and I guess that was the mom sitting there too. Mom kept to herself though. I guess she didn't speak English maybe or whatever, that's besides the point of this review (then why did I mention it) who knows!! I also added only one fish taco to the order to see how it was! EH!!! Just a piece of batter fried fish wrapped and folded in a soft taco with a few cilantro leaves and some chipotle mayo topping. Again, EH!!! Tasty enough and I would order only one again to add to an order I guess, but that's about it with the fish taco. It's not a bad Mexican place for Goshen. They are fairly priced and decent portions. My only problem with them is their sides like sour cream are expensive. They also aren't always accurate when you order. I've asked for extra before and they don't put any on at all which is annoying, since you don't know until you get home. I still order from them, I'm just very cautious about making edits to my food. There is no place to sit down and eat. It's take out only. read more

Had issues with an order that was made wrong , When we called back and explained to the person taken orders what the mistake was, she was nice at first , told us she would fix the order for us , Then about a minute later she called back fighting with us that it was our mistake we would have to pay for another order. The best Mexican food. I haven't tried Hacienda (and I've lived here for a year/all my co-workers who don't live in Goshen looovvvveee Hacienda) but Hacienda isn't walking distance from my home. This is a super convenient location, and the staff are so nice. The food is always ready in 15-20 minutes (even at dinner time on Cinco de Mayo!). The chimichangas are delicious (and huge), the fish tacos are awesome, so are the carne asada tacos. I like the nachos, quesadillas, and the flautas as well. Really, you can't go wrong. read more
