Churro ~ tastes like cardboard. Yuck!
Kim D.

Order through Door Dash ~3/5 The food was cold. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with a churro. The bean and cheese burrito has shrunk in size since the last order in the spring. It was cold but tasted good. The churro was horrible and tasted like cardboard! It was not worth the money nor wait. Darn! I was hoping for a moist inside of the churro.

I have been eating at this chain for years! You always get good food with large portions. The service is always great, whether you're eating in or getting it to go. The vibe is basic Mexican restaurant but is cool. I would have given 5 stars but my crunchy taco was falling apart when it made it to the table. I wish places ensured that they fried the shells so that the customer actually had a crunchy taco when it hit the table.

Enchilada and Taco Combo

Stopped by since the ramen place next door had a half hour wait. Sat in the nice outdoor space on a Thursday night. We ordered: - Al pastor enchilada and beef taco combo: taco was not that crispy and enchilada was just standard. Also served with rice and beans. Rice was dry. - Chicken burrito, which was huge! -Flauta, which were quickly devoured. Served with rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream. - Tostada salad, with a delicious taco shell. Complementary "chips" were round corn tortillas that you could bite off or break apart into chip form. A nice different take on chips and salsa. Overall, just standard fare with nothing outstanding. 10 locations around SoCal, so a pretty successful chain by that measure -- the interior has Mexican charm, where you could be tricked into feeling like you stepped into Mexico. But too bad the food just misses the mark.

Chicken Fajitas

We had a coupon, so we decided to sit down for dinner. The chips came out nice, warm, and crispy in the full round shape of the tortilla. The salsa was yummy. (5/5) The horchata was good. (4/5) Service was quick. (4/5) My chicken fajitas weren't bad. $18.95. Big portions. Chicken was tender. Decent beans. Rice wasn't my favorite; it was kinda hard. The grilled veggies were great. The tomatoes were awesome, and I loved how they kept it quarter-cut big. Seasoning was all right. (4/5) My little boy liked his chicken tenders and fries from the kid's menu. Ambiance wasn't too great. Menus were old and not as clean. (3/5) I gave it an overall 3 rating because I'm not in a hurry to go back.

Margaritas with chips & salsa

Taco Tuesday Not really a Taco Tuesday at Super Mex. Good Food but not taking advantage of Taco Tuesday for a Mexican restaurant. Not Busy and you can see why once you get your bill. False advertisement online. When you get there it's 2x's as much as advertised. Almost as much as the full price menu. Get in the game Super Mex. The best server at Super Mex is Juan!

Great experience! I've seen this place for years and finally tried it out. Great experience! Although the margaritas looked amazing, we passed. The crispy tacos were super amazing! I'd come back just for them. I love spicy food but they didn't have any kind of habanero salsa, but they had Chiles toreados which made up for it.

Plastic shards in my soup. Delicious.
RN J.

First time. Will not be returning. $80 lunch for 3 people, no problem. HOWEVER, one of the plastic grocery style carryout bags was overstuffed and badly packed with a 16 oz salsa, an 8 oz salsa, 6 bags of chips, and a large ALBONDIGAS SOUP. The soup is stored in a foam cup which is deformed due to the heat and covered with a plastic lid which is BROKEN. This mess of a package is then covered with plastic wrap. On the way back, most of the HOT liquid spilled out of the broken container. Thankfully they had the insight to double bag the soup so nothing leaked. HOWEVER, it was still extremely hot and uncomfortable to have burning liquid on my leg for 10 minutes. No lunch for me because my soup is FILLED WITH PLASTIC LID SHARDS. $16 soup in the trash. We live too far away to go get a replacement and complain so I'm lodging my complaint here. Just my opinion, but you owe me a free lunch (all $80 bucks worth) for the inconvenience, ruining what should have been a fun Sunday lunch, burning my leg and serving me plastic infested soup. NO THANK YOU SUPER MEX!!!!! NOT AGAIN. Bye Felicia!

A staple for us, Supermex is our go to for a good meal with our kids too. We love the nachos, enchiladas, meatball soup and burritos!

The food wasn't that good supposed to be hardshell tacos and they weren't even fried hard. The portions were small for the price.

Do they have any type a delivery?

I don't think they do directly but I'm sure if you go through like Door Dash or Uber Eats you could get it.

Javier's at Irvine Spectrum delivers an outstanding dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful,…read morethe atmosphere is lively, and the service is exceptional. Every employee we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the pricing. While I understand premium restaurants come with premium prices, charging $24 for a single enchilada feels excessive, even by Orange County standards. It's difficult to justify that price for one item, no matter how well it's prepared. I hope management takes another look at the menu pricing because everything else from the food quality to the incredible staff is worthy of a five-star experience.

My water glass was never empty. Food is not bad but feels underwhelming for the price. We got the steak fajitas ($40) and carne tampiquenas ($55). The carne tampiquenas came with an 8oz steak (pretty dry and tough, asked for medium rare and came medium well), taquitos (also very dry) and shrimp enchilada ~ this was delicious. We came for a birthday celebration and they gave us a complimentary birthday ice cream dessert which was sweet. We had a nice time here but feels like you're paying for the ambiance rather than the food.

Wow! I am in love with this birria truck. First things first, the address on Yelp is not the right…read moreone. They're not there anymore. They're at 16592 Hale Ave, Irvine. By the District. Make sure you go to the right location. There's plenty of street parking. It is a truck, so no seats or tables, but that's not an issue, just eat in your car LOL. Now the food....one of the best birria I've had. I ordered 2 crunchy tacos with cheese. They were sooooo good. Perfect amount of cheese, meat and the tortilla was crispy just how I like it. The consome, wow! It was very flavorful, tasted like actual consome. Other places it'll either taste like too many condiments/spices or watered down. This one though was 100% consome. I don't dip my tacos, I sip on my consome, so I did add a little lime, but still was able to taste how good the actual broth was. I didn't try the green salsa, but my bf liked it, he said it wasn't spicy. The red one, I did try, and it was perfect for me. It has a little kick at first, but then it's not too bad. Really good salsa though. Highly recommend the red for the tacos. They also have Mexican sodas, Coke, Sprite, Jarritos, and I forgot what else. The service is great. Didn't get his name, but he was really nice and friendly. We just went yesterday, but planning on going back today.

Omg so upset we took so long to try. I went after work and messaged thru instagram to find out where he was located. In the bend behind where you usually see him. So got the tacos for my boyfriend and I got the quesadilla. Absolutely delicious. Moist and flavorful couldn't get enough. All the sides and fixins! Such a pleasant owner too. I cannot recommend more and can't wait to take my friend on lunch soon. Thank you for a wonderful dinner that night! Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone!
