Unfortunately, my experience with the customer service was very disappointing. When I approached the front desk I was welcomed with a dismissive and disrespectful attitude. Firstly I was told that they would not purchase cards in bulk that were at least worth $10 and some of the cards I brought in were apparently fake. While I understand that counterfeit cards exist and businesses have policies to prevent sales like this from occurring , the issue was not addressed professionally nor was it communicated with the customer. Instead of taking a moment to explain why the cards were considered fake or helping a non regular customer understand the differences, the employee simply stated it without any explanation. I chose not to argue or continue the conversation since it was clear that a productive discussion was not going to happen with an employee who seems to lack common sense or understanding. However experiences like this can definitely leave a negative impression on customers who are genuinely seeking information. If your business is simply involved in buying and selling trading cards, customer service should be just as important as the products themselves. Even when declining a purchase, treating people with professionalism should be the standard. If you're only doing it for the sake of profit since you can't find any other way to earn money than this kind of business is not designed for you.

There is a noticeable difference in the leveling of the floor as a shift occurs towards one of the sections that features novels and such. There are a lot of pictures on the wall to look at and plenty of rare or obscure issues of various comics to be found. Prices vary, some can go far out of my personal price range. Wayne is pretty cool. Hard to believe this place has survived since the 70s, but glad to see something that lasts! Stop by if you want some neat finds, especially if you're a serious collector!

When I received the quote the next day it was an offer of $13.65. I was told that it's probably because they had a packed kids section. HOWEVER, this was not told to me over the phone or at drop off. I wasted hours of time and energy pulling this together and making sure I was bringing good books to get the max amount. I expressed my frustration with the process when I picked up the books. The person I spoke with couldn't have been more indifferent.

One item that this store specializes in is really cool resin windows that are unique and exude happiness. Absolutely Outer Banks has artwork in all mediums and in all price points. They have jewelry, wood signs, candles, prints, glass work, textiles, metal work, etc. On my most recent visit I enjoyed looking at a vintage pin ball machine and eyeing up the beautiful array of Fiestaware. There is plenty of opportunity for ooohhhing and ahhhing. The owner is super friendly so that adds to the overall great experience. Staff were helpful, it was close to close so we were able to browse all around without too many people inside. I found tons of pool and ocean floaties, shades, umbrellas, boogie boards, bathing suits, towels, snorkels, etc. You name it, they probably have it. Additionally they have tons of memorabilia for you in the form of loads of coffee mugs, magnets, stickers, key chains and more. Lots and lots of clothing for adults and kids inside as well. During one of our errand trips, we spotted the sign for Super Galactic Games N Comics from the road. Seeing as the logo is brightly colored Mario font, I knew we had to make a stop before we left, and I'm very glad we did! The proprietors were really cool guys; friendly and ready to discuss whatever type of nerdery you were into. They informed me it was hard to keep retro games on the shelf ("For every 1 game I get in, I sell 10") and they were interested in expanding the selection in the future. Since so many vacationers in the area are probably interested in revisiting childhood memories, I'm sure that would be a boon for business. Prices were incredibly reasonable, and the comics selection was expansive, inspiring me to start picking up comics again in the future. I don't know much about Magic the Gathering, but my friends are avid players and they made a few purchases, so that selection must rock too! I enjoyed wandering around this toy store. I was looking for a family friendly game but I wasn't able to make a decision so I moved on to checking out the plethora of Melissa and Doug toys and the Create-a-Critter machine. I've always been a Melissa and Doug fan because I feel like they make quality, timeless toys. I like their wooden puzzles in particular but they offer offer lots of great toys. Anyone who likes Melissa and Doug will probably appreciate the diverse selection at OBX Toys. Create-a-Critter was new to me. Lucky for me there was a little boy making a bear so I got to witness a little bit of the creation process. Basically, Create-a-Critter is like Build-a-Bear. You pick the critter you want to make yours and then the staff help you use this big gumball-machine-looking-thing that fills the critter to make it a plush toy. Critters start at about $20 and then you can pick out outfits and such. In addition to selling toys, including hosting Create-a-Critter birthday parties, OBX Toys also has an engraving business. I saw some of their samples but didn't get a very close look. Also, I saw an advertisement that says they do gender reveal boxes which seems like a neat idea. I didn't interact with the staff while I was at the store but I saw them helping other customers and could see how kind, patient and helpful they are. I definitely plan to return the next time I am in the area.
