They had Atari games in there that I had never heard of before.

This store is not close…read moreat all to home, but they confirmed by phone they had a hard to locate PS4 game my son wanted. The parking lot offers challenge. It's small and few spaces. The store is in a small strip and when busy like just after Christmas it can be a problem. Luckily I did score one and close to the door. I saw no trash in lot, or walks. Upon entering it was packed with a line to the door. I confirmed they still had the game and waited. It took around 35 minutes to arrive at the counter. The transaction was processed and rewards money applied to the purchase. The clerk was friendly enough considering he probably had been on his feet all day and was tired. I will probably never go to this store again due to its proximity to my home. However if there was something that only the store had I would be willing to return.

I've been visiting this Gamestop (GS) for a while, but for some reason, I've never set up this…read morebusiness page before--not to mention, no one else has either. I thought I had once, but maybe it was only in a dream. Oh well--I know it's real this time because I'm writing this review. So, let's get started! The main problem with this location is parking; it's in a strip mall and the lot is cramped. However, it is a bit better now that the Sweet Frog section is connected. If the parking lot here is too full, you can always park in the other section and walk over. The interior of this GS is pretty tiny, but seems to carry everything I need. Like every GS I've ever been too, there is too much "stuff" around, and you can hardly move. The service here has always been fine--nothing over-the-top friendly, but adequate. The girl who took care of me today was busy answering phone calls -it is the holiday season afterall!- but she did a great job juggling customers alone. I did find out that GS will sell you digital PC games--even if you don't see any on the shelves. I asked about Sim City because one of my sons wants it for Christmas. I was able to purchase a digital copy of Sim City while buying other items. It made it simple for me so I don't have to deal with ordering online. I received an activation code on the bottom of my receipt. I'm not a big fan of GS since I don't really play games, but since I have three boys, I have to visit at least once in a while. This location is small compared to others, but average overall. I'm just glad we have a GS in the downtown area of Suffolk!

This is my go to place for anime figurines. I get them cheaper than what I would pay for them…read moreonline or at anime conventions. Convention I went to had a vendor want 60 dollars for a figurine that I found at this store for 45 dollars. They have a great selection of figurines from popular shows like One Piece, Naturo, Re:Zero, etc. as well as figurines that are harder to find such as vtuber figurines from Hololive. Game selection is great as well ranging from as old as the Atari 2600 to as new as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The staff seem like they don't care but are very friendly and helpful once you approach them. This is definitely the best place to go if you live in Ghent, go to ODU or are in the area of Downtown Norfolk.

Plenty of retro and modern games if that's what you're looking for but the people running the store…read moreand the employees are dishonest and will undersell you on your trade ins. Went in 5/27/25 to trade in some collectible figures for a PS2 I was looking at, after ab 30 minutes of waiting for an appraisal the staff comes back and says my figure is worth 192 on a trade for IN STORE CREDIT (w/ 20% added for trade in Tuesday's) not knowing the true value of what I had at the time, I accepted the trade and ended up buying a PS2, memory card, warranty, and 2 PS2 games as well which ended up costing me ~300 in total; despite having a figure worth 4-500 I was given a fraction of what it was actually worth and ended up OWING them money. They then claimed that I need to remember that "they are a small business so ‍" What VGH failed to realize is that I had NO issue trading the item in to them since WITH the money I got from the trade I was going to immediately spend it back at the store meaning they would only stand to have made money on our transaction. The issue I have is VGH pulling an underhanded move like this then turning around allowing me to then spend more of my money in store (when my trade-in value was never met in the first place). TLDR: VGH lost a potential returning customer who would have given significantly more money to this company in time than what they got by cheating me out a SINGLE collectible figure. EDIT: I was also given a 3rd party PS2 controller when I bought my PS2 which is a laughable business practice.

Best gaming store in Norfolk. Widest selection of tabletop war games, board games, and card games…read more They have all major current issues of comics and support local artists as well. The selection of fan paraphernalia and accessories is also extensive. The store has a fresh feel to it meaning that older games not currently in print and a large selection of back issue comics don't exist although the dingy mildew of yesteryear's geekdom (which my wife does not appreciate and is prevalent in many similar stores in the area) also does not exist which makes it easier to shop with my wife. She also can buy gifts without being creeped out by a crypt keeper staff pouring through antique Heavy Metal mags. The upstairs has a wide open area with plenty of tables for gaming. There is terrain and opened board games free to use and sample. There used to be a semi snack bar but has been removed, which I think could do quite well as a full-time service since many a gaming group and after school pokemon battle often frequent. Having an employee upstairs could also be good to regulate behavior since it is currently unsupervised. Overall location is fantastic and so is the shopping experience.

Decent selection, but can be on the pricier side sometimes - double check pricing with TCG Player if buying singles. They always have events going on so check their calendar!
