This is one of the best thrift stores I've been to in a long time! I'm a big Unique Thrift fan…read morealready but holy cow this was great! They have a huge shoe/ jewelry/ bag/ accessories section right when you walk in that is amazing! It's really well organized and the largest accessories section I've seen at a Unique Thrift. They have tons and tons of clothing racks! I found some real gems in including a 100% linen shirt and three pairs of shorts. Each item is priced differently and the items are sorted by category and size. These thrift stores give you a 20% off coupon if you donate something. They also have 25% discount days on Mondays and Thursdays, so those days are pretty busy.

I am so disappointed with shopping at Unique. The prices at this thrift store have become…read moreastronomical. Art is priced as if you are shopping at an upscale gallery. They have mediocre art priced as high as $89.99. They treat the art like it is junk; it is crammed on the shelves and it is stacked haphazardly on the floor. The bric-a-brac is not much better. While they offer a diverse array of tchotchkes they too are exorbitantly overpriced and they are crammed together on the shelves, and have a junky appearance. I commiserated with a customer who wanted to buy a small night light with Blessed mother and the Christ child. it was made in China and I would estimate the value to be around $5; they had it priced at $29.99. They were selling a small Willow tree angel for $14.99; you can get a new one at the Hallmark store in its box for that price or less. I also went into the aisle where they had random picture frames. The aisle was crammed with picture frames which were haphazardly arranged. visually it was unappealing and the art frames on the lower shelf were stacked in a way that they were inaccessible. So here is the dilemma; this is a junky thrift shop that is trying to pretend that it is a boutique and it is not happening. I am all in favor of supporting charity thrift stores but this store is unfairly pricing these donated goods such that the people who depend on thrift shopping to add special things or necessities cannot afford them. Shame on this store. Register your disdain by not buying this merchandise. Also provide feedback to alert others.

What a community-focused spot! Walk inside and you'll see two rooms filled with fair-trade goods…read morefrom jewelry to clothes to cards. In one room is a small cafe that sells coffee and other drinks with a few tables. The chai latte I ordered was delicious! After I ordered, I browsed the store as I waited for my latte.

I visited Trade Roots' cafe with a friend specifically to try out their October special, "Monster…read moreIced Mocha." We visited around the same time as the Westover Farmers Market, so the inside was a bit packed. At one point, we noticed the line going nearly outside the door--although it is a small location, so at least it moved relatively quickly. My order came fairly quick for the amount of people. However, my friend's order had a longer wait time despite being the same drink with only the milk substituted. We eventually asked the staff if the order was still coming through--they were very sweet, apologized for the wait, and quickly prepared the order. Unsure if maybe the order got lost in the shuffle, or perhaps someone else accidentally grabbed it, but it was nice that they quickly resolved the issue once it became known to them. The drink was okay, which I was fine with because the main appeal was supposed to be the Halloween-themed design. I realized too late that my drink didn't come with the chocolate syrup drizzled on top that others' did, which was unfortunate. The cafe was beautifully decorated, and it's clear that there was a lot of thought and heart put into the design. The shop was also nice to check out, with a great collection of items with a nice mission and message behind each product. However, it is a bit tight to go through the aisles when it is busy. I hope to visit again during a less crowded time to check out other seasonal treats they may have in the future!
