This is totally different. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase anything I saw in there, if I needed it. The owner can seriously be proud and I told them I'd write them a great review and here it is. I can specifically note their oven-cleaner product (like Easy-Off) and their 96 oz bleach, which is about half the price of Walmart's store-brand bleach.

The air conditioning was right on cue and it was just what I needed, because the shopping center where this store is located has zero trees and zero shade. I was on the phone for a good 8 minutes and no one bothered me or asked what I was doing. Then I needed a pen to write down some information. I was not that prepared as you can see. Georgia was super nice to me and walked to show me where there were some pens by the register. That was so kind of her. Then I noticed a Dove bar of soap that normally sells for more than $4.00 anywhere else. Here it was less than $1.25. Georgia helped me again while I purchased the soap. She's a great employee and I had a great experience with her and this store

I usually prefer TJ Maxx over Marshalls, but in this case, the Marshalls at Pentagon City has…read moredefinitely won me over. Since I now work in Arlington, I visit both this Marshalls and the nearby TJ Maxx pretty often, and I've consistently had better luck here. I've come across some really great finds at this Marshalls, from wardrobe staples to little unexpected gems. On the flip side, I rarely find much worth grabbing at the TJ Maxx in this area, which always surprises me given how much I typically love that store. Selection & Finds: This location always seems to have a solid selection, and the inventory feels more thoughtfully stocked compared to the TJ Maxx nearby. I've walked out with some really good finds here on multiple occasions, which keeps me coming back. I do wish they carried more workout gear, especially things like weight lifting gloves, since that's one category where the selection feels a bit limited. Store Experience: One thing that really stands out is how neat and organized this Marshalls is. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I walk in and don't feel like I have to dig through piles just to browse. The layout makes shopping feel easier and less chaotic than what I've experienced at the TJ Maxx close by. Service: The store associates here are attentive and kind, which makes a difference. Whether it's helping at checkout or answering a quick question, the interactions have always been pleasant. Value: The prices here are generally good, and I can usually find solid deals on everyday items and wardrobe staples. That said, every now and then I do come across items that feel a bit overpriced for Marshalls, especially when they're not significantly discounted from what you'd pay elsewhere. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's something I've started to notice during recent visits. Overall, if you're choosing between the Marshalls and TJ Maxx in this area, this Marshalls is the better bet in my opinion. I didn't expect to say that, but here we are.

Little did I know the semi-annual sale was going on and there was a line since capacity was/is being limited. The capacity limit was/is 16 people and that includes the staff. So you can imagine it's not hard to reach 16 people relatively quickly. After an approximately 15 minute wait I finally made my way in! The employee at the door put sanitizer on everyone's hands who entered. She also handed customers a paper shopping bag in varying sizes depending on what size you indicated you wanted. Once inside it was a relatively calm shopping experience because there's not a lot of people inside so there is plenty of space. Also, the one staff member stocking shelves and roaming about was pretty helpful. The store overall was very clean and orderly. Upon checking out the cashiers would sanitize the card reader and counter in between each customer. Besides the wait in line it was an overall pleasurable shopping experience. Of course by time I left there was no longer a line nor wait at all. So I guess its just the luck of the draw. I also had a nice conversation with one of the employees on my way out. This store can get CROWDED during the semi-annual sale. The staff does a decent job of keeping the displays relatively neat, though. Like I said earlier, service from the staff varies widely. I've seen people go out of their way to help a customer find or identify a particular product... and then there's the experience I had during my last visit. I had a $10 off $30 coupon and gave it to the cashier. She didn't bother to look at it, but scanned it and gave me my total. The total seemed high, so I looked at the pay screen and noticed that I was a little under $4 short of the $30 mark, so the coupon wasn't applied to the total. I informed the sales associate that I was a few dollars short on the purchase and that I was going to grab a few more items. She clearly had no idea of this (fairly common) promotion and kept trying to get me check out without them; repeatedly and aggressively asking me which method I planned to use (mind you, I had my card in my hand the entire time). I told her again that I was going to grab a few more items so that I could take advantage of the promotion and use the coupon and as I'm walking away, she says "Oh, so you don't want it?" ["it", being my purchase]. WHAT PART OF "I'M GOING TO GET MORE ITEMS SO THAT I CAN USE MY COUPON" WAS NOT CLEAR?!?! Good grief! I ask the other sales associate if he can explain to her what I've been telling her the whole time, and he just stares blankly at me. At this point, I was the one rushing to hurry up and complete the transaction because it seemed like everyone in there that I interacted with seemed to have left their common sense at home. Getting some discounted hand soap should not have involved so much headache.
