-The food is very good if you can get it while it's fresh. If lunch starts at 11 or 1130 and you get there at 12:30 or one chances so you'll be eating some old food. -I enjoyed the dinners more so than the lunch read more

The food is exactly as you imagine. If you are choosing to go to a Chinese buffet, you know where to set that expectation. My only real issue is the ABSURD amount of times they will try and take your plate. Every 60 seconds, at minimum, someone will ask if you're done with that. Nothing says "please hurry up and leave" like asking if you're done 25 times in 15 min. read more

Some of the food was cold. And other food was good. Issue I had was the small clams was plain with no spices n had no taste whatsoever. The staff was friendly n one of the cooks came out n talked with us. They did make us some littlenecks with flavor which were good and flavorful. read more

This place is very good Chinese food Great shrimp and good spare ribs. There wasn't a lot of long lines and the seats were comfortable. You can get a pot of tea with the meal. The wonton soup was great also. The only thing I would say is that if you plan on eating ice cream bring your own shovel it takes forever to use their little scoops and their is usually a line of people trying to dig from the bats of ice cream I finally gave up in just a fruit. This is a good place I would come back. read more

Super Buffet - A picture of the restaurant buffet. - Buffets Near Me - East Greenbush, New York

As Chinese buffets go this place wasn't terribly bad. But, as Chinese buffets go this place wasn't terribly good either. The outside architecture looks like it was a former Elks club, or perhaps the set for a Flintstones movie. In fact, upon approaching it in our car I assumed it was closed because of all the overgrowth and lack of a front parking lot. But my wife assured me it was open (she had called ahead) so we went in. Inside, it was just as unusual. It was darkly lit, and it had a weird vibe to it. The staff were super friendly though and we took turns going up and exploring their many buffets. They seemed really crammed together and they had a lot of the usual options, though nothing stood out as great. Well, except for the apple pie turnovers, but that hardly would qualify as "authentic". Their seafood options were plentiful but not particularly good, and I didn't try many out of respect for my stomach. A lot of their deep fried foods were done well. If your food pyramid is comprised (or compromised) of building blocks of fat, sugar, carbs., over-cooked vegetables and topped with Jello that seems to defy the laws of physics then this place will be your new home. As it was, I doubt I will come back. read more

My giggidy golly. Let me tell you, this buffet is the best buffet you're gonna come across in the 518. I highly recommend the sweet and sour, as well as the seafood. Very strong flavor with just such strong passion for how the food is made. Customer service is 11/10, very friendly, very nice, very awesome . BUT LASTLY. YOU MUST TRY THAT ICE CREAM IN THE BACK, IT BRINGS YOU TO PARADISE AND BACK. Please stop by and give them a hello! read more

Super Buffet - Buffets Near Me - East Greenbush, New York

Foods always delicious. Sometimes it's room temperature, so that takes away from the experience. Servers are aren't very social; but are quick to bring the check. Lighting and environment inside the restaurant is comfortable. Parking lot is a NIGHTMARE read more

While the service was efficient (quick drink order / quick taking away dirty plates), the buffet contained the worst food I've eaten in years (I tried several items but couldn't eat them). The ambiance was typical of a low class diner. read more

Great Buffet, food brought out periodically and good, well mannered service, very clean. Price is good.

Prices were reasonable. $10.99 for lunch. Servers were attentive clearing plates and refilling drinks. The buffet had a decent selection and was replenished regularly. Everything was wiped down regularly and looked very clean. That being said, the quality was lower than what you would get at the mall and some of the food could have been a little warmer. The broccoli in the chicken & broccoli was enormous and wasn't very saucy. The lo mein was very plain. Egg rolls were small and overcooked. Instead of crab rangoon they had cheese wontons which actually weren't bad but it felt like they cheaped out. The dishes I enjoyed the most were not what I would typically order; honey chicken, bourbon chicken, and fried rice. The interior is in need of an update and I'm not sure if it was the people behind us but something smelled like moth balls and made me lose my appetite. read more

I came in for lunch. Food was delish. A few items were cold, and they took care of it right away. The waitstaff was very Professional and helpful read more

I appreciate the effort that went into the food, but unfortunately, some dishes were overcooked and lacked flavor. There were elements that I enjoyed, like the ribs and a few seafood options, but they seemed overdone. However, I did think the stuffed clams were excellent! I must say, the atmosphere is great for kids, and the staff were really wonderful. While I had a few concerns, I can see why many would enjoy this place; I just personally would hesitate to visit frequently, especially considering the pricing. read more

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a child. I love the food options, always yummy food

My husband and I go to this Buffet regularly. The food is consistently delicious, fresh and plentiful. We highly recommend it!!

Love getting in here early and get everything hot off the stove. Everything was ready, fresh and cooked to perfection. The servers are awesome and take your plates away and fill drinks fast. I've been here so many times they know what my family drinks without even asking lol. I wouldn't change anything about this buffet. Solid 4 stars all around. read more

We decided to give the Super Buffet In Rensselaer NY a chance for dinner. We found the food to be fresh and the restaurant clean. There was an ample selection of food to choose from. The food was hot, fresh, tasty and plentiful. I found the service to be excellent! I believe this restaurant should have more business but possibly the location causes people to pass by. read more

I was there last week and everything was great. I got my food to go and was very surprised that so many also get it to go. It's was so fast I could not believe it, sooooo nice. read more

Great food, many choices, friendly and efficient staff. My family comes here often for birthdays and celebrations. All our different food requirements and preferences are satisfied and the staff deals with the chaos with good humor and good service. Highly recommend! read more

Very good!! I was in love with the chicken there. Usually at buffets or restaurants the chicken is tuff but here it's very tender and soft. I highly recommend!!! read more

They've been reopened for a while now, and their offerings are as good as ever! I sure wish they had the proper licensing to serve beer and wine! read more

The second to last time I was here, which was in early August 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm on the weekend, they had only two (2) types of Sushi to select from, for a $15.99 dinner. Rest of selections were mediocre. Have been eating at other Asian restaurants since. This past weekend, I stopped in on Friday at 5:30 pm. They wouldn't give any of the patrons window seats. They said a bus of people would be coming in. I left accordingly, since normal customers apparently are 2nd class. read more

Came back again recently with my wife. As expected the food was very good, and with a wide variety of hot and cold foods,, all of it tasty and appealing to the eye. It was her first visit, and as an experienced world traveler she said it was one of the very best buffets she's ever eaten at. We will be back.... read more

Super Buffet - Greenshell mussels and peel and eat shrimp. - Buffets Near Me - East Greenbush, New York

stopped in with my family for lunch. Small selection of items, place is expensive. The food was lukewarm at best most of the dishes were burnt couldnt even put my fork through the black pepper chicken it was so hard. Hardly any seasoning at all. Will never come back here don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Low key place for traditional steam table buffet Chinese. Standard menu, nothing unusual, but decently cooked and enjoyable, if you want this sort of undemanding comfort food, like I do. Main problem is the place is worn in and battered. Evening is clean enough, but the vinyl seating is cracked and the table tops are scratched. Outdoor surroundings are this side of abandoned With a fix up this could be a nice place, at least keep the weeds cut. read more

This place used to be a Ponderosa Steakhouse back in the early 1990s. The buffet area is very bright with neon. The EG Super Buffet offers some of the traditional Chinese favorites, soups, sushi, salads, American dishes, pizza, shrimp cocktail, salmon, & crab legs. Some of the food is a bit of the greasy side, but very tasty. For dessert, there is a variety of Yasgur Farms hard ice cream, cake, cookies, apple strudel, jello, & fruit. The service is here good (drinks are refilled when needed and used plates are cleared between buffet trips). read more

I just had my first order, it was takeout. The food was soooo good, much better than I expected and much better than the Asian Tea House, that I have been going to since the opening of Yips. I can't wait to go to the buffet !!!! read more

Felt Cheated. - Lunch is 11.99 and dinner is 14.99 We arrived around 3:30 and only lunch stuff was out and available on the buffet. Awhile later, when we were almost finished, they started putting out dinner items like Spare Ribs and peel and eat shrimp with signs stating that these were 'for dinner'. We had none of the dinner items since we were already finished. We ended up being billed $14.99 per person anyway! I suppose we could have argued about it, but after eating what can best be described as mediocre food, we just wanted to pay and leave. With much better options available in the Capital District, we do not plan to return to Super Buffet. read more

Classic Chinese buffet. Cheap, filling, good people, all you can eat

Super buffet since re-opening during the pandemic has done a fantastic job. Making sure to keep their consumers safe. They not only offer gloves but are very avid at making sure people wear them along with masks while fixing their plates. The food is great, always replenishing. They offer a great variety. The people working are friendly and always helpful. They work harder than any other waitstaff that I have come across. read more

It's cheap and somewhat fresh. Always a good selection of food. Sushi is not always fresh and often has a fishy taste so be aware. Pricing gets more expensive over the weekend. But all in all, this is cheaps eats and it's good for the $12 that you will pay. read more

I have been coming here for years. When I was pregnant with my daughter and worked down the street, I was in here a few times a week.... Clearly craving Chinese food. The hostess was one of the friendliest people and always commented on my belly and the baby. My daughter is now 4 and we have been bringing her in for lunch since she was born. They still remember her. Love the staff! The food is also pretty good for a buffet. The price is better than others that I've seen. The food has always been fresh and hot the times I have been there. read more

Decent all you can eat restaurant. The food is decent for cafeteria-style buffet, considering it is made in bulk and put on hot plates. The egg rolls were overdone, and the dumplings were greasy and overcooked, and everything was covered with a shiny sheen but I did not ask whether they use MSG or not. However, I was happy with my General's chicken and sweet and sour pork and the green bean dish was very good. Table service provided drinks and cleared plates, and they were very pleasant. read more

With all of the 3 & 4 starred reviews I decided to give Super Buffet a shot. Being new to the area and craving Chinese I was nearby (according to YELP) and stopped in. Did the 'walk around' before taking a seat and saw several dishes that looked tasty. That is where the fun ended. Of all of the food that I tried only the soup was HOT and that (hot and sour) lacked any real flavor. Everything else was either barely warm, room temperature or cold. Having worked in the restaurant industry in the past, I know the importance of keeping hot buffet foods hot... Sesame/Peanut Chicken should be hot, not cold like it came out of the fridge 5 mins ago. The sushi was good and COLD, but it did not taste fresh. As if it had been out all day. I hate wasting food, and nearly a full plate of food was thrown out as I could not bring myself to continue eating it. As much as I hate to say it... I mixed the food up on my plate to prevent it from being 'put back out', as that is the general feeling I began to get while sitting there. The server was friendly and seemed genuinely concerned that I did not care for the food, but when I mentioned the cold beef and chicken dishes I received only an "I'm sorry". By that time I decided that I would rather take my chances else where and I left. At just over $14 for the 'meal' it wasn't too expensive of a lesson.. but definitely would never recommend this establishment even for a 'cheap' meal. It's just not worth the chance for food poisoning. read more

It's a fairly typical chinese/japanese buffet with a decent sushi selection that thankfully didn't smell or taste funky. They have the classics - general tso, lo mein, fried rice - as well as pizza and tater tots, which is always entertaining. Clean, cheap, and decent. I've had better, but I've also had way, way worse. I'd eat there again. read more

We wanted Chinese, so why not do it buffet style? We normally only eat at one buffet spot, so we wanted to try something different. In a way, I'm glad we did. The place is clean and has lots of booths and tables. It looks small from the outside so this was a nice surprise. There weren't too many other patrons when we arrived, so we went into a booth. One thing I immediately noticed when we walked in was that the prices weren't displayed, so I wasn't sure what we were going to pay. We did a walk through and all the staples were covered: rice, lo mein, general tso (and other kinds of chicken), dumplings, egg rolls, soup, etc. There is also a whole section of sushi. It looked fresh and tasted good. The food was warm and was changed out a few times while we were there. Some of the food however did taste a bit different than I've had in the past (which wasn't terrible, but threw me off). There is a sectuon of salad, fruit and pudding. Dessert is your choice (from about 5 flavors) of ice cream, cookies and/or brownie. Employees are friendly, attentive and were quick to refill beverages. I would dine here again, but wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

The food was ok but cleanliness is poor.I saw a cockroach on the Chandelier. I also saw them drop a spoon on the floor and without cleaning it used it to stir soup. I don't think I'll ever eat there again read more

I probably eat here quarterly. This time a Monday night at 6pm not too many diners. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. I am happy to have this place in Rensselaer county! Tonight the soups and tea were pipping hot and tasty! My friend enjoyed the sushi and said it was fresh and flavorful. I did notice no crab legs on buffet his time. Some items on the buffet were it hot as some reviews mention but I have never had a problem in the past I think it was a slow night. I don't have any problem with quality of food. Waitstaff ask if everything is ok. I also think the signage doesn't really attract business. In any case I will continue to patronize this place. I think restaurant business is tough anywhere but especially on the 9&20 corridor in EastGreenbush. Give it a try just watch when they bring the hot dishes out and enjoy! read more
