Pan Medium 10" Pan Pizza

I would give five stars however i ordered a pizza on Saturday night and had to wait another 25 mins with the wrong pizza made. However, mgmt handled it well and i am pleasant with the service that was delivered. I did not eat inside but it looked nice inside. Their Alfredo is good. Along with their pan pizzas!

Overall, SRP was a solid choice for a late weekday evening when all other deep dish choices were slim to none pickings. And so it was! I remember SRP from way back when as a solid neighborhood joint. I was surprised at the low-ish reviews and thought we'd give it a try. Their cheese stuffed pizza (extra $ for additional toppings) was pretty fluffy and bouncy but lacked flavor. It was tastier leftover drenched in Louisiana hot sauce and giardiniera. Their fries were the best. Fresh potatoes a little bit on the salty side but not pumped with gmos, just fresh cut potatoes. Nom! B+

Shrimp Diavolo

The food always tastes great here, but it'd be nice to have the noodles as pictured in the menu. I had to cook noodles to complete my Shrimp Diavolo while my family ate their food. Not worth $14.25.

So I have a love hate more hate then love relationship with this place. Have been coming here for at least 15 years. From the selection in this area the pizza ranks at the top both thin and pan and the chicken parmesan is among the best. 5 stars for each. Unfortunately that's the end. The fries are greasy as if each bite is a glob of oil and other dishes are no better. Today was the worst experience as I received what looked like an unfinished sandwich. with the least amount of sauce as if conserving it the sandwich seemed to be missing a meatball. You be the judge. It was delivered like this and after 16 hours of work I have no energy to call and complain. Not the first time at this place iv been disappointed but like a battered spouse I always think they will change or it was the last time. I will try my best to find a new home I am done with this subpar restaurant. I give 2 stars in memory of the pizza.

Pequod's Pizza near DePaul is definitely a busy spot! While it looks modest from the outside, it…read moreactually spans two floors. It was the perfect setup to book a movie across the street and have a reservation laid out ahead of time here. We were seated upstairs, which had a cute tavern vibe complete with pop music playing and sports on the TVs. I started off with a Haymarket Honey Ale, which was very light with a delicious yeasty aftertaste. Once we put our food order in, it took just 5 minutes for the cheese corners to arrive. They came out shaped like triangle nuggets with a light golden crust and a wet marinara on the side. They didn't look super impressive at first glance, but as soon as you bite into one, the cheese pull is impressive and tastes great--like a thicker, elevated mozzarella stick! About 30 minutes after ordering, the main event arrived: a deep dish pizza with sausage, mushroom, and giardiniera (Note: I was told that sometimes it can take a long time for the cook so just be mindful in case you come through starving.) The crust was buttery with crispy bits, a little doughy, and those legendary caramelized, charred edges were absolute perfection--the real star of the show that felt like a total hug in my mouth! The sausage was so good, with a cook that mirrored the crust with just a slight crisp edge, while the giardiniera added a nice touch of acidity to balance out the fat. The toppings were evenly spread, and after two slices of a large pie, I was completely stuffed. As a new resident, this was my very first Chicago deep dish experience, and I very much enjoyed it. Pequod's completely lived up to the hype for me!

There are several Lou Malnati's locations in Chicago, and I chose the one on N. Wells St. because they offer a personal-size pizza, which was perfect for me. The service was great. Grace was very kind, friendly, and helpful. Since I was a tourist and didn't know much about Chicago pizza, I really appreciated her help and guidance. I didn't mind waiting because it gave me and my partner a chance to look over the menu more and ask our server for recs, to which he recommend the Lou Malnatis salad. This salad honestly blew my expectations and I can see why it's such a crowd favorite - the roasted salami bits and gorgonzola cheese provided a really nice savory contrast with the sweet vinaigrette they used. When it comes to the deep dish pizza however, I think deep dish style just isn't for me. You can taste all the ingredients (the cheese, tomato sauce and sausage) but they don't really come together in a cohesive manner. I had one bite and I didn't really feel compelled to take another after, it reminded me of my own home cooking when I would add too much tomato sauce and overcooked the cheese on a lasagna. I'm not saying deep dish pizza or Lou Malnatis is bad necessarily, the service was friendly and attentive, I just think a regular pizza is more my speed.

Service is basically non existent. Someone takes your order and 45min to an hour later hopefully you'll get your food. I'm only writing this review because i haven't seen my waiter in 30 minutes. No offers for a refill on my drink. It's been 10-15 minutes since i finished my lil salty pizza and i can't pay my bill to leave to go get some better food. I can see why this place is not in the top 5 pizza places to visit in Chicago. Take my advice and try a place with better service at the very least. Also the lady just busted my table took my water and plate so now im just waiting here thirsty and annoyed. Maybe i should just walk out, not sure if anyone would notice. I tried each pizza plain first then added garlic powder, black pepper, red peppers and that made me like it more. My waitress suggested trying the ranch and sweet hot chilli sauce because that's how some Chicago locals eat it. Nooooo for the ranch lol . Yessssssss for the sweet hot chilli sauce. For $50 I was disappointed but for the experience it was good Overall, location is in an amazing place, a block from the Millennium Park, clean and seeing water fall while you eat was amazing.

Wow - this is Chicago tavern pizza at its finest…read more Very nice ambiance, had a 30+ min wait around 8pm on a Thursday. We were waited by Bill - who gave great recommendations and provided great customer experience the entire time! 10/10 from him. The focaccia + burrata combo was incredible - I typically don't opt for bread + pizza, although this was so worth it. The focaccia was perfectly crispy yet so soft, and pairing burrata on top gave it that creamy/cold combo that was perfect. The pizza was very elevated - good simple ingredients with an incredible crunch. Extremely paper thin. Highly recommend to come here!

We ended up doing a walk-in on a Sunday night and showed up at 8 PM one hour before close. This worked out for us because we got a really good seat after only waiting for 20 minutes. Service is good and timely- the hostess was super kind and helpful. We started with some cocktails- a Negroni & a spritz (both were good & pretty strong). Then we split the Caesar salad and a pizza with half sausage/olive and mushroom/onion. Yeah, the pizza did blow me away- the crust is perfectly crunchy and so so thin. I wouldn't even describe it as traditional tavern style pizza because I think it's a really crunchy crust- but it's definitely wayyyyy better than Dimi Dimi (that's the most comparable crust imo). The sauce has a slight spice to it, and the whole pizza just feels very layered in terms of flavorful profile. The sausage was also spicy but very good and I absolutely loved the mushroom and onion duo. Sometimes when you go to a certain pizza places, it doesn't feel worth it, but all the ingredients felt elevated here and the pizza had an elevated taste. The Caesar salad had a nice light dressing and a ton of cheese. I wish that the lettuce had a bit more of a crunch to it, but they seemed to use butter lettuce. The inside feels like a classic Italian joint, but it's very small and simple Overall, so glad that I finally went and although it's not a place that I would go regularly because I live far, I would definitely come back!

There was an hour long wait but the bar is open seating and, as in most bars, everyone sat one seat apart, but we got lucky and snagged two adjacent barstools. The restaurant is large and interesting to look at. Service is friendly. The menu is brief, but I'm guessing everything on it is delicious! We had just arrived in Chicago and assumed we had been referred to a Chicago-style pizza place. Nope! This place has "tavern-style" (extreme thin crust) and artisan (wood-fired style). We ordered the artisan with the margherita pizza and the Sunday salad. The kale Caesar looked really good too. The Sunday salad was a 4x elevated version of the Olive Garden salad that we all pretend we don't love. (Don't let me lose you at Olive Garden; I do not eat at Olive Garden.) it had incredibly fresh baby gem lettuce, delicious Italian dressing, salami, garbanzo beans, cherry tomatoes, fennel (I think), ditalini pasta, and probably cheese of some kind. Very flavorful, fresh and delish! And it was large! IMHO, a great pizza must have the foundations of a great crust-wood-fired crispy on the outside, light and chewy inside---and a delicious sauce. Zarella's dit the bill on both! I imagine whatever pizza you get it will be superb, but I'm partial to the red sauce. Def worth trying!
