Something magical is happening at Suparossa. Their pizza and dinner options are consistently on point--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Overall, SRP was a solid choice for a late weekday evening when all other deep dish choices were slim to none pickings. And so it was! I remember SRP from way back when as a solid neighborhood joint. I was surprised at the low-ish reviews and thought we'd give it a try. Their cheese stuffed pizza (extra $ for additional toppings) was pretty fluffy and bouncy but lacked flavor. After many years of ordering from here last night was my absolute worst experience it solidified my decision to never ever be a customer here again. I will be sure to tell all my family and friends how they took over 2 hours to deliver my cold pizza (after I was told it would be 60 min) and how I had to throw away the freezing cold mushrooms and fries I ordered. I am in shock that a well known establishment like this would be okay with serving their customers that disgraceful meal. So I have a love hate more hate then love relationship with this place. Have been coming here for at least 15 years. From the selection in this area the pizza ranks at the top both thin and pan and the chicken parmesan is among the best. 5 stars for each. Unfortunately that's the end. The fries are greasy as if each bite is a glob of oil and other dishes are no better. Today was the worst experience as I received what looked like an unfinished sandwich. with the least amount of sauce as if conserving it the sandwich seemed to be missing a meatball. The old lady at the take out section is so C/S UN-friendly and hands your take out order without a smile or perhaps "thank you for your business" etc. Grant it, the pizza and beef sandwiches are very good, however I have found other Italian pizzerias in the area that are grateful to have your business from the initial phone call to arriving for pickup with a very warm greeting. Perhaps she needs to retire and give a younger crowd the opportunity to serve with a smile like their competitors do. Will not return. read more

Piazza is my favorite! Service not so! PEOPLE PLEASE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. I Often get over charged here and for things not ordered, and usually they're apologetic. Today, I was overcharged for extra 'pizza sauce'... they've never charged for this. So I call them, and the young lady on the phone is like an insurance agent.. deny deny deny. I asked if I was charged for extra sauce, immediate reply "we've always charged extra for sauce." Until luckily a fellow employee corrected her. Still, no apology. She asked, "so what do you want to do about it?" RIDICULOUS. I am a paying customer, am's she's acting like she's doing me a favor in trying to correct her clear error. Do not ever order delivery from here. Ever. Unless you are a masochist who enjoys the pain of having to deal with the staff here. As with other reviewers I have had issues with delivery. Delivery coming late, delivery missing items, delivery without utensils (apparently this is restaurant policy - how am I supposed to eat my pasta at the office? Using 2 pens as chopsticks?). It was disgusting and inedible. I did not order food on a 90+ degree night just to turn my oven on to finish cooking it. The poppers we're obviously not fully cooked either!! I called.. Jessica told me it's too late to get a new order, I can only receive a credit to my account because they don't know how to refund money. We had problems with this restaurant a while ago and stopped ordering from them but since they were the only ones open we figured we'd give them another shot and this is what happened.. I don't want to waste any more time or money on them. Jessica told me to call back Tuesday and talk to the manager Jeff because he could do a refund. I called back Tuesday and spoke with Jeff who told me since it's been two days he cannot do a refund. He then told me that refunds are above his head and I'd have to wait until tomorrow to talk to an owner. I asked what the owner's name was.. he got bent out of shape and told me that he is not going to do a refund because I kept the food. I told him he could send somebody over here to get the food out of the trash in the alley and his response was what do I want with two-day-old food? This was a five minute conversation that went nowhere then Jeff hung up on me. Disappointing at best. Service was attentive, but food service was terrible. We ordered a lunch salad and personal pizza with an add on of soup. The soup came right away and was good, as was the delicious bread, but then we waited over a half hour for anything else - and there were only two other people in the whole restaurant. Our waiter came back and told us the pizza would be another 10 minutes, so we said just bring the salad so one of us could eat. This antipasta salad was gross - it was like someone opened a bag of italian lunchmeats and dropped it on top, along with about a half bottle of Wishbone dressing. The pizza took almost another 20 minutes and was not what I expected from a Margherita-style. This had diced (canned) tomatoes, basil that looked to be either old, dried or just plain over-handled and way too much cheese. I expected real tomatoes, less sauce, less cheese - and fresh mozz. would have been nice - and fresh basil. We probably won't be back - the prices on the specials and entrees were really high for this area and given the quality with 4 people in the place, I would hate to risk it when they get busy! read more

I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life, and this place just gets worse and worse. A couple weeks ago I ordered a family size pizza. Had specific delivery instructions, and instead of following them correctly, the delivery person left the pizza outside in the cold. When I called (and admittedly had quite the attitude), the driver said he rang the top bell, which he did not, and he did not even attempt to call the number on the receipt. They said they would put a credit on my account. That's very nice, thank you. I called tonight to order again, and they credited me account $5 for an almost $50 order that their delivery driver was responsible for leaving in the cold. Everything is just so inconsistent. Came in here on a snowy Wednesday night and didn't expect much, but wow they surprised me with how great everything was from the food to the service! We had grilled calamari - fantastic! Then the prosciutto pizza - amazing! The chicken avacado stacker with fries - delish! My martini straight up with olives - perfect and I'm fussy! this place. My new fav place in my hood. As an out-of-towner I feel a bit unqualified to comment on which Chicago pizzeria establishment serves the best pizza, but these guys have my vote for excellence in the football-sized pie realm. We were hanging out with our buddy Tony Lee, the Blind Staggering Windy City Madman and a stalwart scenester of the Chicago Pizza universe. We ended up catching the game at Gamblers where we first experienced Suparossa's pepperoni and sausage pies. Of course we weren't paying for our portions but I must say that they were supremely tasty. The sauce was rich and flavorful, the cheese melty and the toppings were amply distributed. A+ in my book! Love thier food but their customer service is not good. In fact, they are mostly dismissive when you contact them with issues. Delivery can take a very long time and fixing orders or granting refunds is something they are willing to do at all. We order the same thing, always. Our usual order is a half cheese and sausage and jalapeño pizza. For the 1st time it arrived drowned in jalapeños. Seriously, every single inch of the left side covered, about a lb worth or more. The left side was soked in Jalapeño juice, the pizza on that side was basically inedible. We attempted to get a refund, partial credit or something and all they said was that that's how they make all thier pizzas and that they wont process refunds. That was the end of that. Simply not the case. We've order the same pizza for ya long time and this time was the only time it came thar way, but they ignored our complaint and dismissed us all together. While i like the food, customer service is a big part of keeping customers coming back, and I can't trust ordering from here again knowing they don't care to provide somewhat decent customer service if an issue ever comes up again. I wish I could give them zero stars. Earlier tonight, my boyfriend and I ordered two stuffed burgers and some rolled eggplant via GrubHub. The burgers were absolutely disgusting. They were essentially a pile of cold, crumbly beef with chunks of cheese and undercooked veggies. The meat was too big for the bun, which was soggy and also falling apart. They didn't even get the ingredients right- my boyfriend ordered mozzarella and got cheddar. Basically, they weren't edible. The fries were also cold and soggy. I could have used the bread that came with the eggplant as a bludgeoning weapon. The only food-like part of the meal was the rolled eggplant. Everything else was inedible and disgusting. I called the restaurant and asked to talk to a manager. The manager refused to take my call, and the employee I spoke to was only allowed to offer me credit toward my next order. They offered me a $6 credit. (The burgers were $8 each, and- as I mentioned- inedible.) When I refused, the employee tried to get the manager for me again. After a few minutes, she came back on the line and offered me a $10 credit. Rinse and repeat- this time they offered me a $12 credit. It was getting closer to the price of the burgers, but by this point I was irate, and I'd been on the line over 20 minutes. It was getting ridiculous, so I let them go and called GrubHub. The customer service person at GrubHub had to call me back twice because Suparossa was refusing to refund my order. Eventually, they agreed to refund part of my order. I just wanted to get off the phone by that point. Not only was the food disgusting and inedible, but they have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Another one bites the dust!! I'm finding it extremely difficult to find a kind word here. I'm going to start by saying this establishment boasts of there fine Italian cuisine. So keeping that in mind I order 2 pasta dishes. Lasagna and an order of pasta and meatballs. I'm no culinary expert here my friends but the lasagna gave the appearance of something you'd find in the frozen food case at your local grocer. Freshly prepared? I think not! Recently nuked perhaps. Here's a free piece of advice if you want to give the illusion of fresh try draining the water! Any resteraunt claiming to be Italian better damn well know how make a proper plate of pasta.
