Came for a 530am Yoga class that may have been called Vikram? There was a male teacher who was very welcoming and kind from the second I met him, and felt very welcomed In the studio as a first timer surrounded by regulars. This class itself had less cues than your typical yoga class, but it was repetitive, so since it was my first time I had to look around a lot to see what we were doing, but it was easy to follow. I love that they have showers here so I was able to use it after class then get ready for work. I'm looking forward to trying more classes here!

I like a nice sweaty hot vinyasa to get me out of my head and came for a class today and really enjoyed it. This studio is in Arcadia where a lot of things are but the studio itself is one room, a changing room outside the studio and a bathroom tucked in the back. Lockers available to store your items. No shower available. Yoga Box offers 3 free classes so I decided to take them up on the deal. I've been practicing yoga for about 25 years and have often tried different studios in this way. The first class was so so, but the teacher was nice and even gave me a new student welcome gift. She was a bit too eager to talk to me and I just wanted to practice and flow. The other issue was that I couldn't understand the instructions clearly as our teacher had an accent where I couldn't quite make out the instructions. But, she had a very nice playlist. What makes this place a bit annoying is that once they get your phone number, they have someone by the name of Emma that won't stop bugging you about signing up for a monthly membership. I don't mind actually buying some classes here and occasionally taking a class here and there but I was firm about not wanting a monthly membership (i already belong to 2 gyms) and this person couldn't take a hint, so that was a turn off. The thing that saves this place is I took a very good class with Debbie today. She gave excellent instruction, got us all sweaty and loved her Hawaii playlist. Ukulele is the way to my heart. Overall, it was an ok studio, give a try as they do give you 3 free classes and decide for yourself if you want to keep coming here.

Our instructor Brady, is the BEST! Connects with his students, engaged, awesome playlist and as a retired fitness instructor, he's probably one of the best instructors I've had. I was not disappointed. I was a walk-in (fairly priced at $25 and booked through mindbodyonline). It is clear that John is a top-tier yoga instructor. His cues were precise without being overbearing, and his adjustments were spot-on. I got a great workout while still feeling calm and centered--exactly how I suspect yoga should feel when done well. I did not try the showers or check out the retail section, but John and his class get an A+ from me.

We looked at the schedule and saw a Yoga Sculpt class that worked for us and signed up... Tate was the teacher and she had great energy... This was a very different class than some of the other Yoga Sculpt classes I've taken at CPY and elsewhere. It didn't really include any flow yoga and was more weights focused, but it was still a great class / use of time. The studio has plenty of parking and is conveniently located at Tatum and Shea. They have a small retail and sitting / locker area, a couple of single bathrooms and showers, and two yoga rooms. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming.

Teachers are fun and knowledgeable. However, they offer discounts and promotions that they don't actually want you to qualify for. They offer a medical discount that they won't take your license number for, (so if you're a small buisness owner only employee you dont qualify) they offer a set program that they won't contact you for (a program for you to clean the studio once a week which needs to be done sonce women do their hair in studio and you have to pull their hair off of you in every class) so obviously studios are not clean, they offer black friday deals that if you do the intro month you don't qualify for but your account is plastered with the promotion saying no such thing. Here's the things yoga studios are a dime a dozen.

All teachers always help the students to understand the pose and adjust the student pose to get most out of the benefit of the correct pose. Most people are regular but a few are day spa customer. All props are available to use. The studio is clean and the restroom is clean. I like the the studio has one side that we can see outside through the huge glass window.

I had high expectations after reading the other reviews but sad to say that Yoga Lamar didn't meet them. While I should have known that this wouldn't be an authentic yoga experience because it is located inside the salon, I was still disappointed. The yoga studio is located inside Spa Lamar, next to the hair stylist area. The doors to the yoga room are thin so you can hear the hair stylists and their clients throughout your yoga class. This is distracting and doesn't make for a very "zen" experience. The room itself is clean and bright. The room isn't very big but thankfully the classes I went to were small. It would be uncomfortable to have more than 10 or 15 people in there at one time. The AC was broken during one of the classes I attended, so we were really sweaty about halfway through the class. Someone asked the instructor to turn on the AC, but it was broken, so we opened the doors to the room. It felt much better temperature-wise, but the noise level from the salon increased, making it harder to meditate. Being that this is a Scottsdale yoga studio, the other students were mainly older, stay-at-home housewives. The women didn't give off friendly vibes, so I felt out of place not knowing anyone else. The atmosphere felt a little gossipy and cliquey, which is an unfortunate vibe for a yoga studio. On more than one occasion, some students in the class were chatty throughout the practice, making meditation difficult. One comment I heard during class was, "My butt will look so good after this position! I am so fat." UGH. I like yoga studios where students don't speak throughout class, unless they need help from the instructor. This is not a gym hour with your girlfriends; it's a meditative yoga class. The instructor for one of my classes was wearing a very thin, white tank-top without anything underneath. Needless to say, some of her body parts were poppin' out of the tank-top - very unprofessional and distracting during the class. While I'm not asking for 100% modesty, at a minimum you should have your nips covered! I was not happy about that and felt uncomfortable during the class. I made it a point to avoid her classes after that experience with her. I am disappointed to report that I haven't received any contact from the studio after my month-long membership ended. I didn't feel like a valued client when I was there, and I still don't feel valued as there has been no follow-up communication. Why not call me and see how my experience was, and try to get me back in on a regular membership? Don't you want your Yelp-deal clients to become regular clients?

Class was full-ish but didn't feel crowded. First half of the class was HOT and steamy! There were a few towel/water breaks which was nice. There was a flow, balances, core and a cool down. The instructor came around with ice cold towels at one point which was really nice. Loved it, will be back.
