We are so happy and satisfied with our system and our bills have gone from $300 plus a month to less than $40 a month. Their quote, plus their high reviews made them the logical choice, and we have no regrets. From the person who did the site inspection, Jose, to the installers, everyone seemed very friendly, respectful of our property/wishes, and it was clear they were experienced and knew what they were doing. Being up against a deadline, we really couldn't afford to fail the city inspection, and we passed easily. Thanks to the salesman Mark Howe for his direction, & to Henry Melling for a great design and implementation. We were not excited at the idea of having all that stuff on the side of our house, but honestly, the installation was so neatly done, with a few plants added over there, I'm sure we can acclimate. The battery placement in the garage was genius -- up and out of our way! Everything is functioning as it should, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend California Solar & Electric. THANKS to them for a job well done, and ON TIME!! We couldn't be happier.

DLS Development - Full shingle roof replacement completed using grey architectural shingles.

This update relates to my previous 5-star review…read more Approximately a year after DLS Development finished the complete re-roofing of my house, I discovered that the roof guards/drip edges near my main door threshold and in several other spots were accidentally missed during the installation. I only pinpointed the problem recently (last quarter) when I noticed the area approaching our main door in the mornings following humid nights. Knowing how much time had passed, I fully expected DLS might dismiss my concern. To my amazement, DLS crew promptly arrived and fixed the oversight around my home at no cost. This proves DLS is more than just a company that performs an excellent re-roofing job; they are incredibly responsive and stand by their work - even for seemingly small issues that arise long after the initial project is complete.

We took a couple of months to meet up with other roof companies for quotes and ultimately hired DLS…read moreDevelopment. Spencer from DLS Development gave a great pitch, plus the quote was one of the lowest we received from almost all roofing companies. They reached out over a month later to check in and offer an additional discount. Pros: The workers did an excellent job and worked from nearly sunup to sundown. They had a few questions, which I could answer (or get my husband to answer) when I was around. It took about 4 days for them to tear off the old shingles and install the new ones. And it was hot out there! They did the work quickly, professionally, and efficiently! One of the crew members performed a walk-through with my husband once they finished, and my husband was very pleased with the finished product. I feel very grateful looking at my roof now, since the old one was very old. Cons Once we signed the contract and paid the initial deposit, we were told that the permit for our house needed to be pulled and that it would take about a week. Almost two weeks later, I asked the project manager if she had pulled the permit and when the project could begin. She then let me know the roofers would begin the following week. I guess I hoped that the project manager would have reached out to me first to let me know that the permit situation was complete and that they would begin the roofing process. You need to take initiative and find out what's happening, since I've never had a roof replaced before. Next, the project manager informed us they discovered and replaced rotted wood. The project manager sent us a change order for the additional amount, yet the contract did not list any extra charge for rotted wood. Additionally, they had already replaced the "rotted wood" before we signed anything, and they had no clear photos showing any rotted wood. It took a lot of emails and texts back and forth before we reached a resolution we were happy with. Still, it was a headache and frustrating for several days; we had to deal with uncertainty and explanations. Finally, the project manager never confirmed when the inspector for the last inspection would actually come to our house to collect my signature on a form. We didn't know whether we needed to be at home, leave the document out somewhere, or when the process would officially end. I received an email from the project manager asking me to reply and attach the form with my signature, as the inspector had come around but could not collect it because I was not there. I replied to the email with the form and asked the project manager if I needed to do anything else. Only when I reached out again to the general DLS development general email was I told what day the inspector would come around again to collect the form. We're thrilled with the roof and the quality of work, but it would've been less of a headache to have a lot of this information up front without having to keep asking, since I'm unfamiliar with the roof process. I also had to email the general DLS development email, as the project manager was not responding to some questions and concerns as quickly as I would've liked. I know she probably had a million things going on, but it felt like I got a response much quicker once I emailed through the general company email. This was not a cheap project, and I feel like this company lacks clear communication, but their workers and work are absolutely outstanding.

They took care of all the Burbank permitting, kept us updated, and delivered on schedule. The whole team -- estimator, project manager, installers, and even the president -- was friendly, responsive, and professional. The install was neatly done to blend in with house decor. Their price was reasonable and the value unbeatable. Solar adds about 4% to your home's value, so it justifies itself right away -- even if you sold your house next month! The Powerwall 3 works perfectly and gives us backup peace of mind during outages. Five stars. Highly recommended.

They assured me this will be the case. Come the day, they called me at 9.45 to confirm the appointment, I did remind them that they have to be here by 10.30 - I was reassured this will be the case. Rep came at 11.20, I could only meet him for around 40mins. He requested that I send him the plans for measurements because he didn't have time to measure due to the fact that I had to leave (although it wasn't attempted in the 40mins he was here). He told me someone from the office will be in touch via email so that I can email the plans. Okay. Come Monday - nothing Come Tuesday - nothing, so called them. They assured me that someone will call me back Come Wednesday - nothing Come Thursday - I called again. Eventually the rep called me saying he was waiting for the plans. I reminded him that he didn't give me an email to send them to and I'm still waiting. He said he will call me back, I asked him for the email but he kept saying he doesn't know it (kinda weird). He called me back eventually, gave me an email, I sent the plan immediately and requested a quote by end of day. Nothing Come Friday - nothing Come Monday - again nothing. I texted the rep - he never responded. I did have to listen to a speech on how they are a recommended provider for Tesla and how "that should say enough", yet can't communicate efficiently. Very disappointing because I lost two weeks that may cost me the ability to get the tax credit.

We did a lot of research going into this project and had a pretty specific vision of what we wanted -- including battery storage, system sizing, and long-term efficiency. The team was receptive to that from day one and worked with us instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all solution. Communication was solid throughout the process. As with any solar project, there were a lot of moving parts (permitting, inspections, utility coordination), but they kept things moving and were responsive whenever we had questions. Installation itself was clean and professional. The conduit runs and equipment placement were well done, and everything looks neat and intentional -- which definitely matters for a system you'll be living with long-term. We also appreciated how they handled the more complex parts of the project, including battery integration and working with LADWP for interconnection and net metering. That process can get confusing, but they helped guide it through to completion. System has been up and running smoothly, and we're already seeing the benefits in terms of reduced grid usage and better control over our energy. Shoutout to Omar and the team for getting us across the finish line. If you're looking for a company that's knowledgeable, flexible, and able to handle a more customized setup, Treepublic is a solid choice.

Treepublic came highly recommended, and we chose them in part because of Mr. Nasser's Yelp promise:…read more "We see each relationship as the start of a long-term commitment, and each project as an extension of our very own roof." Unfortunately, our experience has not reflected that promise. When I asked some simple questions prompted by my accountant, all communication stopped. After escalating directly to Mr. Nasser, our calls and emails have gone unanswered. We have documentation supporting our concerns and have sent a registered letter in an effort to resolve this matter privately and professionally. Our preference is always direct communication and correction, rather than escalation. Before proceeding with any installer -- or if you have already completed a project -- we recommend independently verifying: * Sales Tax: Double-check invoices. Were you charged sales tax improperly? Contact CDTFA for guidance (https://cdtfa.ca.gov) * SGIP Incentives: Verify your rebate application status directly through https://www.selfgenca.com and "Check My Application Status." * Permission to Operate (PTO): Confirm with your utility that your system was not energized prior to official approval. * Battery Configuration: Ensure discharge settings comply with manufacturer specifications to avoid premature degradation. We remain open to resolving this promptly and will update this review once we receive a substantive response.
