Sunshine towing was dispatched to tow my 1964 safari Manx earlier this evening on the corner of east grand Ave and ash in Escondido. Humberto was our driver. Not only did he arrive 40 mins earlier than the ETA given by AAA, but his professionalism and skillset was exactly what we needed to receive at the time. My Manx is temperamental to say the least. He helped us try a couple of things to get it started, and as we were about to throw in the towel, and load it up into the flatbed, I attempted to start it one more time and it fired right up This was by far, the best Tow service I've ever experienced and I am very appreciative for Humberto. We were helped with a vehicle problem by Steven! He was great. The vehicle in question had not been started for at least two years! Steven ran a check of the battery and found that one cell in it was not functioning and reccomended a battery replacement . This was after he stated to car with his nifty tool that not only jump started engines, it could also blow the tires up to thr proper inflation! My sister in law said we did not need to replace the battery at that time after Steven explained to her that she needed a new battery, among other tnings, now! So Steven finished the paper work and went on his way home. When my sister in law tried to drive away, the car stalled and stopped after going 10 feet! We called AAA back and asked if Steven could come back, which he kindly did despite being on his way home. To finish up, Steven came back, replaced the battery and made sure the car was road worthy, and left. He really saved the day for us and we wanted to let his emplyer's know how he wnt out of his way to help us out. He really went above and beyond his call of duty! Thank you, Steven!!! read more

On Thursday April 17th, I discovered that my rear, driver side tire had a screw in it pulling out of the garage. I then called AAA to have them send a driver out to swap that tire out with my full-sized spare so that I could take it to my friend's tire shop in Mira Mesa to get repaired. The driver came promptly, within 30 minutes and was cordial. He gave me the option to fill the tire up with air or to swap it out with my full-sized spare. I opted for the tire swap. He did the work and even helped me load the damage tire into the trunk area. However, when I drove my SUV to the tire shop, the service man noticed that all of the lug nuts were extremely loose. He even went so far as to say that if I had driven another few miles on it, my tire would have completely come off! I'm just glad that I was able to make it to the tire shop in time. I did take a video of it and even called into Sunshine Towing to relay the incident. My only regret, is that I did not personally check the work after he had put on the spare tire. I was told that the driver would be spoken to, but aside from that, I don't think anything else will be done. My advice to anyone using this company or any other service whether it be on your own or from AAA, is to check to make sure the lug nuts are on securely before the driver leaves your vehicle. read more

Driver/Technician was very professional and deserves a 5-star review. The only downside was the timing. Although the AAA app provided a timeframe of about 66 minutes, I received a call at 6:27 AM (about 10 minutes into the 66 minutes) stating the technician would arrive in 10 to 15 minutes. I rushed to prepare for work and went outside to meet him, but I ended up waiting for more than 40 minutes. I am not sure where the communication breakdown occurred, but it may be worth looking into. I cannot over emphasize how impressed and happy I am with the service at Sunshine Towing. Liz who answered the phone helped tremendously. I found them through AAA and was going crazy trying to communicate with AAA about my issue. (When your car breaks-down and you are on the side of the road, the last thing you need is AAA automation that speaks to you as a polite robot picking up EVERY traffic background noise and interprets that as an answer on the automation. you can't yell "representative" loud enough!) I absolutely HATE AAA but there is no alternative. However Liz at Sunshine Towing who helped me from really made the difference. Sunshine was assigned the tow. She was clear, helpful happy and human. The worst, most unprofessional tow I've ever had. The tow truck driver told me AAA wouldn't cover the tow because the vehicle had been in an accident and AAA never tows vehicles for accident-related damages. He demanded $350 for the tow. Then, when I called the AAA representative to confirm his story, he changed his tune, indicating AAA would pay for the tow. Then, at the collision center, he changed his tune once again and demanded $400 claiming AAA wouldn't cover the cost of the tow. My car overheated and broke down during rush hour on the 15 near Fallbrook. I nursed it off the freeway to parking lot. AAA told me Sunshine Towing would be out in 2 1/2 hours. I was waiting in a sketchy parking lot getting more nervous as it got darker. About 30 minutes ahead of time Humberto from Sunshine Towing called me and said he was on his way. On the phone He was friendly and professional. He arrived promptly with a smile and He spoke knowledgeably. His truck was huge and my truck was parked in a corner. It was dark and I was still rattled from my car troubles. Humberto could tell and politely asked if I needed him to Move the my truck. . He very carefully maneuvered my truck on the tow bed with ease. He took my car to my home and offloaded it just as carefully. Call AAA to get towed..they sent this company out only to be towed off the freeway..not towed to destination..Stated they we're to busy..I told the driver, I'm part of his business. A customer..he told me if I didn't like , he'd leave me on the freeway...after we drove off the freeway he asked if the location was ok.. nothing around. It had been a stressful day on multiple fronts. One was the car not starting ... AAA sent Sunshine Towing to assess the need for a jumpstart or new battery in my 2018 Ford Fusion (had original Ford battery!). The technician, Omar, was respectful, courteous and competently diagnosed said battery as definitely dead. He replaced it with a new AAA battery, verified that all was working then went the extra mile to check that the accessories - radio, dashboard electronics, etc., were OK as well.
